Cost of retrofit cruise control
Wizzmed replied to Wizzmed's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Ok great. Thanks for all the advice guys. I think I will make a few enquiries and get it done. -
I know it can be done as its been discussed on here at length. But does anyone know the rough cost of fitting cruise control to a non MFD superb?
-
Ive got a guardsman in mine. Its good quality and easy to fit. Going away with two small children means I need to stack the boot to the top with stuff. I wouldn't be without a dog guard now.

The badges needed are from the citigo and not the FL superb.

Two child seats and adult in back?
Wizzmed replied to maffwilson's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Both my kids are in isofix seats and I cant fit in the middle. Our other car is a VW touran which we have no problem sitting in the middle. In fact it us quite comfortable. -
Wile7 (Dave) has saved the day and has sent me one all the way from Switzerland. Just need to fit it now. Thanks again.

I have just acquired a 1992 favorit forum plus that was only on the road for 6 months before the owner died. It was then parked up in his garage for the next 23 years before his son decided to sell it. It has only done 2290 miles from new! I've got it running but I need to go over the whole car and give it a good service and change the brake fluid and tyres etc before it will be back on the road. All this will be done as time and funds allow. Will post some pictures soon.

Like many on here I have changed my badges to the new style badges. But the steering wheel badge is still the old style. This does not help my OCD. I know some say it can't be changed but ive seen on ebay the air bag covers for early citigos with the old style steering wheel and the new badge, minus the chrome u shape strip. Can these be fitted to my superb and is it just a simple pull off and refit?

I found that with my two that their car seats take the brunt of the stuff. We also opted for the isofix base unit for their seats which gives some protection as well. I also dont allow them to eat anything that might stein and they only drink water in the car. Oh and rubber floor mats are a must!

I went for one below limo tint. Not sure of the % but it may have been 10%. I think it looks good and I prefer to have the windows tinted for the kids in the back rather than those stupid stick on blinds. My other half went for limo tint on her car, and while it is great in the summer it is a pain at night to try and see out of the back.

Where to buy Genuine Superb Floor Mats?
Wizzmed replied to Chan110's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Ive always opted for genuine rubber mats, even had them in my vRS. Especially with kids they are a must. Ive even got a rubber cover for the transmission tunnel in the back from super skoda. It only came this week so i have not fitted it yet. -
Ive seen on a few rental car forecourts near heathrow cars starting with G. Especially new octavias.

All makes sense now. Lets hope the staff member that had mine looked after it!

I don't want to start the whole 'Is my car an ex rental' postings again. I am under no illusions that any used car under a year old is likely to have come from rental or lease stock. I bought my superb at 9 months old with 5k on the clock. Log book says previous owner was Skoda uk and its PDI was done by paragon. So I knew that it was likely an ex rental and the price reflected this. What puzzles me is that most of the ex rentals on skoda dealers forecourts have around 13k on the clock and have number plates starting with either an F or a G. However mine only has 5k on the clock and a number plate starting with a D. And ive noticed other cars starting with a D also have around 5k on the clock. So does anyone know who had these cars to start with and why they are moved on with such low mileages compared with the others? I must say my car is imaculate and cant find any fault with it.

Tyre pressure warning system - not convinced.
Wizzmed replied to Twelvebears's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
I had it on my octavia. I concluded that I was much quicker than the system in detecting if I had a flat or low pressure in a tyre. Its a waste of time in my opinion. -
Got mine new off ebay for £40. I think they are made by Maypole. They adjust to the width of the roof. They may look cheap but they do the job and ive had no issues using them to carry the roof box or any other loads. Just cant justify spending nearly 4 times that for a known brand for the abuse they get with me.

Took my Superb in there for its first service (Hughes was not the supplying dealer). They were not my nearest dealer but my old dealer has gone and the franchise has gone to Citygate who made me change from VW to Skoda in the first place after they kept making a mess of servicing my VW Bora. Anyway dropped the car off and was given a lovely Citigo with over 3/4 of a tank of fuel in it!. Was phoned at 2pm to say the car was ready. Car was washed and all seemed to be in order. So a big thumbs up from me!

I have a GUARDSMAN dog guard. I think it was around £120. Took about 10 mins to fit, no drilling or clamping. It also takes seconds to remove if needed. Good quality and good fit.

Do the round type vw caddy caps fit as well? There are loads of those available but the type above are hard to track down in the uk it seems.

I have an S spec and I've got one. Previous owner was Skoda UK so maybe that was why.

Are auto headlights standard on 2011 SE 4x4 Estate?
Wizzmed replied to DenzilDexter's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
I think auto lights are standard on the superb. My S spec one has them anyway. -
How to remove the centre console in a Superb 3t
Wizzmed replied to richie00's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
You may want to check the seal around the pollen filter as well. I had water coming in on a VW Bora I once had and that was the cause. The dealer said it was a known fault with VAG cars.- 13 replies

Superb estate delivery questions.
Wizzmed replied to Long10562's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Ive always opted for the rubber mats in my cars. They may not look as nice but they are easier to clean, ideal for winter and last much longer. Plus if you have kids they are a must!
