  1. Got a set of Nankang snow sv-2 on steel wheels for mine. Will wait until the temperature drops below 7 before changing them over.
  2. Just turn the dimmer switch down if they are too bright. I found them annoying initially but like most things you get used to them after a while.
  3. My tints cost £140 at a local place in my town. I got it slightly lower as we had taken the other car there 6 months previously. Cant fault the blokes work on both cars.
  4. We have had both our cars done and we have had no issues. The main reason we got them is because of the kids in the back and I hate those stick on sun blinds that are next to useless. My other half went for limo spec on hers which has been great in the hot summers. Like has already been said you do have zero visability at night but we both reverse using the wing mirrors so not an issue for us. I went for the grade below limo on my Superb and it is fine and looks good.
  5. Yep you need to order 2 x 1ST 853 630 A AUL and I ordered 4 x 5JA601151ULM which are the centre caps. I assume they are a universal fit on all wheels but don't take my word for it. I got all of them from skodaparts.com.
  6. It does seem to be a personal thing with car seats. I still maintain that the seats in a VW Bora I once had were the best ever. Never had a bad back during my ownership. We have Volvo XC70s where I work and although the initial impression is that the seats are comfortable, loads of people complain that it gives them chronic back pain, myself included.
  7. Ive loaded up my greenline with the family, boot full of luggage and a roof box and did not feel there was much change in performance. Its slow to respond at motorway speeds at times but I am very happy with mine. Ive been averaging 58mpg but it is climbing as the engine is starting to loosen up.
  8. I have a greenline but it has no decals on the wings.
  9. Fitted all my badges today. Took me about an hour to do front, back and wheels. I used the hair dryer method but used a plastic trim tool to lever the badges off. Got rid of the glue using WD40. I must say it does look so much better. My car is in brilliant silver so the silver and black badges suit it well I think. Anything is better than those old green badges that look cheap compared to the new ones.
  10. I bought my first Skoda at the age of 24 (an Octavia SDi no less) and now on my 3rd Skoda, a Superb estate at the age of 35 and I love it. To be honest I have never cared what people think about the car I drive. I needed a big car due to an expanding family and would rather a large estate to a people carrier. I refuse to buy a people carrier as I think you are just showing that you have given up in life. The Superb estate fits the bill as it has a large boot and loads of leg room in the back so my kids cant kick the back of my seat! It also looks great and is cheap to run. What more could you want?
  11. My old octy vrs gave me a bad back. Not had the same problem with the superb.
  12. I ordered covers from them for the back seat. It did take about a month for them to turn up and they never replied to my email. But I must say I am pleased with them when they turned up. Mine are semi-tailored but fit quite well and I can still split the back seat. They make them to order which might explain why they take a while to arrive.
  13. Its good to hear how good this car is. I intend to keep mine for many years to come, or until it is destroyed by my kids! i am currently averaging around 58mpg but have had more on long runs bordering on the 70mpg mark. It is improving as the engine is starting to open up a bit. I was also a bit concerned about going from a 2.0 vRS diesel to a bigger car with a smaller engine. However I soon found out that I didn't need to worry and find the engine fine for my use. It even has a bit of poke when you floor it, although I do find it does suffer from a bit of turbo lag. I just love the space of the combi, and on a run to the dump recently managed to fit an entire bathroom suite that I had ripped out in the back, bath included. Another bonus point I have found is the rear legroom. For those of us with kids, the vast legroom stops them kicking the back of your seat. I can't say there is much I would want to change. Like has been said the addition of the 6 speed box would be welcome, but I cant say I miss it particularly and the car cruises on the motorway quite quietly. I would have liked a higher trim level but the offer I was given on my car was too good to refuse.
  14. You wont regret it. We have Volvo XC70s in work and I hate them. It's so nice at the end of my shift to jump into my Superb for the drive home.
  15. I got some semi tailored ones for my back seat from carseatcovers.co.uk. They also do fully tailored ones as well. You pick the colour and fabric and they then make them to order. I only needed the back seat covered in heavy duty water proof material to protect the seat from my 2 kids!
  16. I have the S spec with auto lights and no auto wipers. To be honest I had auto wipers on previous cars and they drove me mad. They either went too fast or not fast enough. Just my opinion.
  17. Answering 1: You dont have to extend the headrests, you need to remove them. The bottom of the back seat folds forward first then you fold the back down (or at least you do on my 2013 estate). This makes the back seat completely flat. Although mine does not have the variable boot floor so there is a step much like there was in my previous octavia hatch. The estates do seem rare on the used market, I guess due to people keeping hold of such a great car. I got mine at 9 months old with 5k on the clock before even the dealer had seen it. Beware though as there have been quite a few ex hire cars appearing. Im sure they are fine but id want it checked thoroughly.
  18. I changed from an Octavia vRS to a Superb Greenline in 'S' spec and cant say I miss my Octavia. Like it has been said the Superb is much more refined and the space inside is fantastic.
  19. I had a similar issue with the automatic all windows down feature when you hold down the unlock button on the key fob. All the windows would come down except the rear drivers side window. I was ready to get it booked in at the dealer when it started working again. I will keep an eye on it and see if the problem comes back.
  20. I love my Greenline. Ive had it 3 months now and it has already made a difference to my bank balance at the end of the month. Yes it wont win any land speed reccords but I cant say in my day to day driving that i have not found it to be lacking. Like has already been said you need to get used to the gearing as it is slightly different. But i get 60mpg+ on my daily trip to work and back. The big sway for me was the cheap tax, cheap insurance and good mpg. I came from a vRS and cant say I miss it.
  21. I opted for the S spec as it has everything I wanted and couldn't justify the extra for the SE, especially as its the family bus that will get wrecked ocer the next 10 years. As for sunset glass I got a local firm to do it for £140 which was much less than having it as an option.
  22. My stop start works with the air-con on. Although mine is the S trim so I dont have climate control. Still an awesome car and perfect for my growing family.
  23. Came home from a shopping trip today to find that one of the spring clip things that stop the load cover retracting has gone missing, assumed broken. Firstly does anyone know how to remove the trim on the side of the boot to gain access to it? And can you get replacement ones as they do seem a bit fragile. I am of course refering to the superb estate.
