  1. Which spec one was that again? Looks like one to avoid by sounds of it, totally different interface to mine. That one i've no idea as I didn't have that in first place, just the lines getting closer so to speak on my MIB1
  2. Yea go into RCZ then pick the golf one in there for the correct platform. In settings you can then set to invert doors etc. Agama one is the one I am sticking with still, not perfect but I like the look of it and can make it all Skoda looking with logo and colours etc. Shouldn't loose things like locking beeps from stereo being just plugged in, it can't change anything unless you ask it to. Beware though if not set to right canbus mode signals from anything you operate on the controls could be inadvertently tied to something else and change things that way.
  3. Launcher I use is linked a few posts back. You need to go into canbus settings on stereo to change it so correct door shows opening. China production lines tend to actually test the items and it's quite possible it's connected/paired to a device for this reason.

Here is a bit of a overview of the guys story ( he wasn't alone) with the rust after 7 months odd from new and pics on post #70 onwards as his website he made is gone now along with links he posted to it himself etc from posts (I am assuming some terms imposed on a final resolution). The rust thing itself seems to be not very common, it was just how they dealt with the warranty claim in the circumstances and against the finance company and the financial ombudsman made me step far back at time. That is a few years ago though and hopefully I'd like to think MG UK has upped their game as that was very damaging for them and anyone looking at getting an MG at the time would have run into this blokes story easily and he had to scream and shout at them from every direction. https://www.mg-rover.org/threads/does-your-zs-suv-show-signs-of-rust.867271/page-4

I've been watching these since before the EV version was released and been on the fence when pre-order offers were on. Wish I had now for the value of the Exclusive model back then. There have been some horror stories ref the application of the warranty and one man in particular who got one that hadn't been coated properly and started to rust heavily immediately and they refused to sort it for some time and only through his finance company did he get rid of it after several months and independent inspections etc etc. That was around the time of the change over from the ICE ones being no longer built in China but Taiwan maybe? That was what ultimately stopped me as I'd not be purchasing on finance and in the same boat I'd have been left hanging big time. I like the bigger HS but only has a PHEV on the electric side of things and is also not cheap cheap at all. The facelift one shown this month, im not so keen on the new Hyundai borrowed grill, but inside infotainment and tech in general is fantastic looking with proper full app control and I'd like to think the heated seats have more options than burn/off. The MARVEL R looks like it could be a big hit though, keeping an eye on it!
  6. How many trees would be needed to offset the journey
  7. Pic may not be clear if filter not used, camera life may be reduced also. Can't remember the label but there is one might be attached to the actual yellow plug on radio end that plugs into back of stereo itself?
  8. By red wire from the RCA I assume it's a small red cable with no plug on end that runs through the same insulation as the RCA plug (in pic below)? If so, that's meant to be your positive line that goes into a wire in back of stereo then use any ground at back for the negative so when reverse is selected it then powers the camera (there is a specific line on back of stereo labelled for this). Wiring it to rear wiper circuit directly will mean at all times that the ignition is in the on position, the camera is actually on and fully powered up. That in itself won't be any real issue as long as the filter box has been used of course, but it will be more run time on the components themselves. Mine is live all time ignition is on too as that red line seemed so thin I didn't want to use it, if it dies I will use it on the next one though.
  9. Sorry forgot to reply last night, this is the one I am using more or less since the start now after trying a few others and quickly moving on. Like the look of it it's very clean, clear and customisable. Think it might have been paid for, but I really like it. If I hit radio it doesn't bring up radio, which is not something ive ever tried more than once as I NEVER listen to FM while driving personally. For the full on car settings they didn't come up in the app drawer for any of the custom launchers I tried only in the stock one that came on the unit (I suppose it's quite specific to it, not an actual android app as such). So if I ever need to go into those settings I would simply hit settings shortcut on home screen and change launcher to original one to go into them. This is something I only have had to do once the other day when I adjusted tyre pressures and thought I best reset the TPMS thingy and worked perfectly. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=altergames.carlauncher You can see it in this video:
  10. Definitely more than one way, I had to start again to get the extra tiny amount I needed. Airbag switch is no problem even with battery still connected as long as the ignition is turned off while its unplugged. It you turn it on, just means the light comes on and must be reset. 2gb/32gb one could simply have plug holes in back in a different place, I cannot recall the layout of mine.
  11. I'd think so, but can't be 100% sure. Some folk who had bother getting cable to reach got an extension sent out by seller for free. Mine is tight but JUST reaches my loom stops at exact same place but there are a couple of ways to route it though into centre console really need lower glovebox cover fully off to see can be passed through by hand too. Mine only plugs into back of screen with screen offered up and just enough space to get hand in from the top and press the connector in, first way I passed it through looked the most logical and easiest but it wasn't enough. LHD have a much easier time of it.
  12. From memory ish I think all that was in back of original screen was the cable going to the unit in glovebox and not plugged into anything. The big block connector carries the power etc, make sure all plugs in back of new stereo are fully pressed in they can be quite stiff. When ignition turned on with new screen in try pressing the power button, holding the power button and the pin hole reset button too of course remove and check the mini blade fuse in back of unit first, ideally change it to rule that out even if it looks fine too. I never disconnected the battery I just ripped all out and fired new one in.
  13. Yes all worked perfect. ***EDIT*** didn't read original quote oops
  14. If you pull out your stereo you will likely find the same plugs are on the back of it instead, if that is the case then it should be fine and a lot easier to install. Look in this video for the type of plugs on the back of the glovebox unit and see if you have the same shaped plugs on back of your stereo in the dash. https://youtu.be/_BHQw6ElsMY
  15. Because of how it's wired into the car, it's not simply plugged into the back of the unit in glove box. Prob goes into CCM or something and is much more integrated into the car than can be hijacked with canbus module.
  16. ***EDIT*** they also list a 2gb/32gb octacore one alongside the 2gb/32gb quadcore, which did you order for the below to apply to android auto? Emmmm apple car play thing works on quadcore 2gb one, need octacore 4gb and up for android auto, should state that clearly in listing? Android auto is pointless on an android head unit anyway. It's designed to allow non android head units to have some basic limited crapy android app functionality. It's like getting your first motorbike and wanting to fit stabilisers to it sort of deal. Don't worry about android auto, you have full android built into the car in first place, download, install and use any app you feel like!
  17. Still going great, had it through mega cold tail end of freezing winter then the mega summer we had and been perfect. Doesn't come with removal keys a nail file will do the same job if you're into those, if not Amazon/ebay will get them to you them next day I paid £2.50 but says £4.50 now yikes https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/332699579992 Wiring for camera is in my case a Mk3 Octy Combi just went through the grommet from boot hatch to frame and then whatever flaming way I pleased! (I went under inner sills down passenger side to front) Camera came with cable long enough to do it easily which was handy! This is the exact rear boot handle/camera I got, but there are different sized handles on the Mk3 Octy for some reason some had a smaller one fitted (like mine) and some a bigger one, all the same price on AliEpxress but be sure to measure first! https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33035970515.html 6gb/128gb is exactly what I'd go for if ordering now, reason I went with the 4/64 was that it was a 100% stab in the dark gamble with no one I knew having donw the same and when taking a chance on it I went with that to be sure I didn't waste too much money. Would buy higher specc'd one happily now if I needed one. You did what now? It's not just half the ram and storage it's also only a quad core CPU rather than the octacore you get on any of the higher specc'd ones. It will be on the plus side the same hardware unit as Xtrons sells for £300 odd (cheek of it!) at a mere fraction of the price.
  18. He is showing you the blue cable on the FM signal booster and the blue cable from back of head unit you attach it to
  19. This is the best video to give an idea of how easy it is, nothing scary in it, 99% plug & play bar one single wire to connect for FM booster
  20. I can continue to recommend the one I got, still going strong and a real bargain upgrade to the basic MIB1 I had.
  21. Aliexpress ones £15 ish delivered. Think the same ones are only a few quid more on ebay for quicker delivery though. Easy enough installed they come with all you need in box inc a T20 (I think) screwdriver and a trim removal tool. This video is very helpful for install. https://youtu.be/hwEET2_Ychg Here's the ones I got: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001001249975.html Ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164924764945
