  1. My car runs on Tesco 99 most of the time and goes well on it. I believe that most of the fuel sold in East Anglia originates from the Coryton refinery in Essex. But I did overtake a Greenergy tanker heading for Norwich on the A11 yesterday.
  2. These are the part numbers for a pre FL Octy vRS if you have climatronic: 1Z0 858 069 L 2AU - Trim for climatronic switch for vehicles with navigation system bright aluminium NO PHONE SLOT 1Z0 858 069 Q 2AU - Trim for climatronic switch for vehicles with navigation system bright aluminium PHONE BRACKET SLOT I used a 1Z0 858 069 L 2AU last year when retrofitting a Columbus Edit: Others have used 1Z0 858 069 R 2AU, which is apparently identical to 1Z0 858 069 L 2AU
  3. Saw my first FL vRS in Norwich earlier this week - a Candy White Hatch. Then I realised it was a taxi! There's also a pre-FL Race Blue vRS taxi around here.
  4. I'll confess to having thought about yellow myself, but... I'm not changing my car I'm not changing my car I'm not changing my car I'm not...
  5. Anthracite, or yellow if you're feeling brave... ... Brimma would be happy - he's desperate to see pics of a yellow FL VRS
  6. I don't really know any West Norfolk pubs but having remembered to get my copy of the Good Pub Guide out of the car, can anyone recommend any of these near King's Lynn? Rose & Crown, Snettisham Black Horse, Castle Rising Feathers, Dersingham Farmers Arms, South Wootton Woolpack, Terrington St John If we can settle on somewhere to meet, a new thread with date, time, place and list might generate more interest
  7. So if I bought a true refurb unit how would I find out the code? or why wouldn't I need one?
  8. I really like the look of the FL vRS in Anthracite. That would be my colour choice if I was changing mine... ... I've said on here that I'm keeping it but VAT free, 0% finance etc is tempting me to think again.
  9. I'm ok for the 28th and possibly the 21st
  10. Glasses online valuation tool suggests a build date range of January to April 2009 for the semi-facelift vRS cars http://www.virtual-showroom.co.uk/scripts/nuvv/nuvv5b.asp?laf=VAUXHALL&clientId=VAUXHALL&nuvvPath=B&manufacturerCode=E2&manufacturerDesc=Skoda&rangeCode=A8&rangeDesc=Octavia&trimCode=B2&trimdesc=vRS&bodyDoors=5&bodyTypeCode=B&bodyTypeDesc=Hatchback&derivativeCode=A8&derivativeDesc=2%2E0&fuelType=Petrol
  11. A meet in Norfolk would be great. Most Sundays are good for me.
  12. Thanks for the offer James. May give you a call if I find myself anywhere near Epsom.
  13. Just £7460 to buy mine at the end of the contract. As I see it I'll have already paid for the bulk of the depreciation and it should still be worth enough in two years time to be my deposit on a new car. As skodafab says, a no brainer really, but always interesting to see what others think.
  14. That thought had crossed my mind James, but what engine? I was impressed with the 170CR when I drove your Superb at the open day last February, but don't do enough mileage to justify the extra cost of the diesel. That leaves the 1.8TSI. Has anyone remapped one yet? I don't suppose I should hold my breath waiting for a Yeti vRS anytime soon.
  15. There are some pics in the Autosport show thread in the Shark Performance forum
  16. I've just opened a letter from Skoda Finance reminding me (not that I needed it) that my PCP has less than six months to run. I've been planning to buy the car at the end of the contract rather than replacing it with a FL vRS for the following reasons: 1. Having done a few retrofits I have exactly the spec I want other than full leather (and that could easily be sorted with a call to Seat Surgeons) 2. Even after viewing all the FL vRS porn on here I still feel the FL is 'different' rather than 'better' 3. Current car has been 100% reliable and still drives like new after 27k miles 4. If I keep until 2012 or 2013 it would be cool to replace it with the first Octy III vRS on Briskoda I'm interested in what other members have done in a similar situation and why.
  17. Hi Silverback There were monthly meets in Bury or Ipswich last autumn (see other threads in this section) and I'm sure there will be interest in organising some more once the weather improves.
  18. I bought my Columbus from this seller last February and have had no problems. The unit was in excellent condition, came with a code card and there was no sign of broken seals.
  19. Thanks for the report and photos. We had a week in France and Belgium in September, staying in Arras and Bruges, and visited Vimy Ridge and the Ypres battlefields during our trip. It was a fascinating but sobering experience summed up by the messages left by today's young visitors at the grave of a 15 year old British soldier at Essex Farm cemetery. We enjoyed some fine autumn weather - the cemeteries must have felt really bleak in the snow. Your post reminded me that we found ourselves following a grey Superb from the UK around many of the Ypres battlefield sites on Saturday 19 September. Don't want to turn this into a Spotted You thread, but wondered if it was anyone on here? There are all kinds of other things to do in this area if you fancy a break from the battlefields. It was good to be able to abandon the car for a day to explore Bruges (and its beers) on foot and by boat. We also visited Chateau Pierrefonds (Camelot in TV's Merlin) and the nearby WW1 Armistice site at Compeigne.
  20. My last car for five years and 50k miles was an Accord 2.0 VTEC. Bombproof reliability and nice spec on the SE Executive - still miss the heated leather seats at this time of year I test drove a Civic 2.2 CDTi as a potential replacement and liked it enough to talk about a deal, but walked away when the sales manager told me I couldn't afford it. The Skoda dealer was next door and had an Octy vRS on the forecourt....
  21. Thanks to all for your useful information . I think I might end up going for an HTC phone running Android, but not sure exactly which one yet.
  22. Tempted by an iPhone, but not by paying more just for the Apple brand. I've read loads of smartphone reviews and checked out my workmate's Toshiba TG01 (too big!). HTC Hero looks good, but still not sure what I want. Can anyone recommend an iPhone alternative?
  23. Mk2 vRS TFSI - Bluefin stage 1. Very happy with it, but you do get used to the extra performance and I can see why some people want more
