  1. Absolutely! I was pleased to find a Worthersee RS+ picture without them for this thread even if it meant posting a Fabia pic in the Octavia forum
  2. I'm not so keen on the dark fog light surrounds, but thanks for showing us what it would look like
  3. Don't worry Brimma - I'm not going to compete with you Actually your vRS red and green lower grilles had started to grow on me. I would keep these but go back to the black colour coded upper grille.
  4. Many thanks. Looks really good. I might just have to do this, but maybe need a better image to start with where the grille is catching the light
  5. The plan would be to get a good match with the wheels. I might give the company that did the wheels a call to discuss this. What are you planning to do to your grilles?
  6. Now there's a coincidence. Looking forward to seeing your mock up.
  7. Before anyone gets the wrong idea I'm not planning to turn my car into a Worthersee RS+ clone... ...but I'll confess to liking the dark finish to the grille on the Worthersee cars and that got me thinking about having my grille refinished in shadow chrome to match my wheels as an alternative to colour coding in silver. Attempting a mock up of this is beyond my very limited Photoshop skills, but if any Photoshop wizards reading this would like to try it, I'd love to see the result. I'll post a suitable photo of my car here when I've taken one from the front quarter to show the grille and front wheels. Any offers of help much appreciated.

  9. Not yet - but I've already recommended them on here Yet another Android update?! What does it have over 2.1?
  10. Just the standard colour - described as brown, but that doesn't really do it justice. My workmate called it graphite. I think the black Desire is only available direct from Orange Not really bothered about the colour, just chuffed to get my hands on a Desire at last
  11. Well T-mobile had the best deals back in April and a higher fair usage limit for internet - and the only network I had personal experience of was Virgin Mobile. So do T-mobile treat all their customers like this then? CPW friendly and helpful staff and didn't try too hard to sell me expensive insurance
  12. An update for anyone who might be interested. I wrote to T-mobile and four weeks later got a letter back saying that the decision to reject my application had been overturned. They gave me an agreement number valid for ten days only, but I couldn't use this as HTC Desire was out of stock. Eventually ordered one online and got rejected again! T-mobile call centre and shop staff could only suggest that I wrote to head office again. At that point I gave up. The only help I had from the T-mobile salesperson was when he said that Carphone Warehouse had the Desire in stock. I walked into their store up the road and asked for a Desire on any network bar T-mobile. Settled on a deal on Orange and sailed through the credit check. Writing this while waiting for the phone to finish charging T-mobile
  13. Welcome to Briskoda There's a localish meet coming up if you're interested http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/159450-bury-st-edmunds-meet-in-july/
  14. Just back from a week away with a Seat Leon 1.6CR as a hire car. I found it impressively smooth and quiet and fine for motorway cruising, but kept stalling it when driving over a pothole strewn track at low speed and had to resort to first gear to get up a short but steep hill until I learnt to floor the accelerator when approaching it. Certainly lacking in torque at low revs compared with what you would expect from a diesel.
  15. +1 for next time! Sounds like you might not be waiting too long I'd say the darker (shadow chrome) finish for a silver car, but I'd go for a lighter shade as wega3k and bluvrs2 have done for a race blue car. EDIT: I was expecting mine to be lighter than they turned out and it took me about 24hrs to convince myself that I was happy with the result, but wouldn't change for a lighter finish now even if I was offered a free swap
  16. I respect your views but would be interested in evidence for the case that a remap from a reputable company may increase emissions. What type of emissions are we talking about? Many owners of remapped vehicles on Briskoda report improved fuel consumption, which implies lower CO2 emissions. I would not have remapped my car if I thought it would be less safe as a result. My insurance company appears to agree with me.
  17. I've no idea what I've done to annoy you, but please don't tar everyone with a remapped vRS with the same brush. Some of us enjoy reading threads on all Octavia variants and other Skodas and respect the personal choices other people have made.
  18. Nice find. Would have completed the all black look nicely if you hadn't fallen for those Calitos.
  19. I've just put Vred Ultrac Sessantas on the front of mine to replace the original Michelin Pilot Exaltos and getting noticeably less road noise. Can't fault the Exaltos for durability though - almost 30k miles on one set of front tyres.
  20. From the website of the company that did mine: "With our refurbishment service, we don’t just paint the face of the wheel. We strip off the existing paint & re-powder coat them inside and out leaving a long lasting, durable finish. You cannot achieve the high level of finish with our refurbishment service from a mobile operator. We DO NOT use spray cans like others will." "We also undertake Front Face Cosmetic Repairs, where the level of damage is minimal. Here the tyre (if fitted) is pushed down the side of the wheel & masked off so as to gain complete access to the wheel rim to repair any damage. The wheel face is then repaired suitable standard for priming. The chosen base colour is then applied (2-3 coats) and then finally a clear lacquer is applied to seal and finish (2-3 coats). When the wheel is cured for maximum durability and protection. The tyre (if fitted) is then re-flatted & is ready for use." http://www.ba-wheels.co.uk/ba_wheels_process.html My advice would be to get quotes for a full refurbishment and compare prices before settling for a front face repaint.
  21. Where's that thanks button gone? Thanks to Brimma, bluvrs2 and wega3k for the feedback
  22. They are darker than I was expecting from the sample wheel I'd seen, but definitely not black. I think the camera is struggling to cope with the contrast. I'd have been quite happy with the same colour as yours, but I think the darker shade works with the silver. Yes it was an online quote - £329 plus £47 for stripping and fitting wheels and tyres. I then got a series of emails offering discounts of 15-20%, but once I'd factored in the cost and hassle of taking the car to Nottingham I decided to go with the local quote. Apologies for not responding to your PM - I just thought I'd post the pictures first to give us something to discuss
  23. £305 including stripping and refitting wheels and tyres to car. Wheels fully refurbished with minor kerb damage repaired, powder coated and laquer finish. Less than the quote I had from The Wheel Specialist and can't fault the quality of the work. More details here: http://www.ba-wheels.co.uk/ba_wheels_process.html
  24. Well here are mine in Shadow Chrome from B A Wheels in Norwich. Slightly darker than bluvrs2's.
  25. Well the deed has finally been done. Watch this space for pics.
