How-to: DCC Recalibration
Hi all, has anyone got the tools to do this in Hampshire/Surrey? Would happily pay for your time. I have Bilstein B6 on the front and standard on the rear currently but the car is 5 years old and has been taken apart so could probably benefit from being calibrated even though it's not lowered. Thanks

The last time I drove past the pub it look like it was shut as it had to let signs outside. There is a pub slightly closer to petersfield called the seven stars which has a big car park.

Bilstein B6 DCC shock absorbers available at last
Bilstein even do B4 Damptronic if you want a standard replacment. I'm not sure any are serviceable or less likely to fail though - who knows!

The Bilstein code was 23-254343 They do ride a bit firmer, but my old shocks were leaking so not sure how good the ride should have been before, I am on 19's so that obviously doesn't help. Handling is definitely improved but again I am not sure by how much as I am comparing to suspension past its best and I have only done the fronts so far.

Only change the springs if you want it lower, otherwise the stock springs will be fine as the B6 units are not any shorter than standard dampers.

I've ordered some B6 front shocks from Demon Tweeks as they were cheaper than B4's from Euro Car Parts. I doubt they will show up as the price seemed too good to be true and the website stated 'in stock within 8 days' or something but we will see.

I was thinking it would be good if you could adjust the settings. Compared if current settings were Comfort "-1" Normal "0" and Sport "+1" I'd want them set at something like -0.25, 0.25 and 1.5!

Sounds like it would be perfect for what you want and they should be fairly easy to fit.

I'm looking into this at the moment, anyone got any decent UK suppliers? My front shocks are banging after 60k miles, but I only got the car on 55k so I'm not even sure what the standard ride should be like. Are the B6 any harsher? Thanks

Superb Sportline - standard spec vs options
Very well summed up. I think this is why I just went for the 280 L&K so I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything in spec or power (without modifying the engine) oh, I also have a thing for exhaust tailpipes, which you really do only get on the 280!. It doesn't sound as though the OP will be modifying the car anyway, but one day I will get round to blacking out my grille and chrome bumper strip but for now they break things up a bit on my L&K. Looks like there are 12 L&K Estates, 5 Sportline's and 15 SL Plus on AutoTrader currently: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-search?sort=price-asc&postcode=sw1a1aa&radius=1500&make=SKODA&model=SUPERB&aggregatedTrim=Laurin %26 Klement&include-delivery-option=on&fuel-type=Petrol&body-type=Estate&minimum-badge-engine-size=2.0&page=2

The heated rear seats in the L&K swung it for me

Superb Sportline - standard spec vs options
Tricky one.. it's one thing deciding what you want and then trying to find the right car is something else! I settled on an L&K as I found one in a fairly unusual spec and its even a Hatch which is proving to be absolutely fine for family duties!

Superb estate used - Go for 2.0 TSI 220PS or wait it out for 1.5 TSI?
Try and drive both engines, regardless of trim level or bodystyle. Make your decision and then find the right car. Personally I went straight for the 280 and haven't looked back, I'm sure the 220 is fine for everyday driving but I did get tired in my Leon 1.8 TSI with ~220bhp after a remap which spun the front wheels a fair amount.
