  2. Nice looking bike although you could have bought a black bike and blinged it with gold
  3. Reading your 1st post is very upsetting, having had dogs all of my life when they leave you its always difficult and even more so in your case where you felt helpless & had to see him in pain. You did the right thing getting the children away from the situation as it would be very traumatic for them to see. In those last minutes I'm sure your dog was greatful/happy that both you and your wife were with him, that will have been a great comfort to him knowing he wasn't alone so please don't feel like you have him down (You Haven't !) We found that it helped by making up a (this is your life) photo album with our children letting them choose pictures and write things they remembered/loved about Timmy. Children have a great way of looking at life and it helped SWMBO and myself as towards the end we saw him ageing/getting poorly and often wondered if we were doing the right thing by him, we soon realized that we needed him and much as he needed us and the kids saw things of him that we didn't helping us realize we all did the best for him. There's not a day goes by that we don't think or talk about Timmy (2years later), we never had a funeral (of sorts) for him but often visit places that we used to take him and celebrate all the good times that we had with him. I hope you all find your way of dealing with your loss & I wish you and your family all the best over the coming weeks/months/years coming to terms with your loss, he may have left you physically but his memory & spirit will always live on in you all & you'll never loose that. Matthew
  4. I've got a Cube AMS 125 and used to ride that on the road while it was my only bike, was a lovely comfortable ride although the tyres didn't last long and much harder work than a hardtail or bike with slick tyres. IMO you can't go far wrong with one of these http://www.decathlon.co.uk/rockrider-91-id_8170096.html Decathlon RockRider 9.1. Well under your 1k budget and a cracking spec for the price. I can't comment on the Boardmans/Giants (have never had one) but I've owned various Trek/Specialized/Marin/Kona/cube/b'twin bikes over the years and have enjoyed all of them but the B'Twins offer the same function/fun/quality as the higher priced bikes.. Think buying a Skoda instead of the VW/Audi If you have the space I'd buy the RockRider for the weekend thrashes and the Triban3 for the commute and you'll still be under the 1k price mark, if you don't have the space the go for a Hardtail as you will be very suprised at just how able they are, I ride the same routes through the Peak District on both my Full Suss and my Hardtails & the Hardtail is much more fun but the Full Suss allows me to plow through everything at greater speeds Matthew
  5. Found this. These are the only type of bearings I've seen (worked with) If you look at the top edge of the left hand one you can see where the side is shaped not square. Not sure if this matches what you're seeing
  6. I'd have an mx5 if I could afford to run another car. My parents have one, it may only have a lowly 1.6l engine but its great fun to drive. I always offer to car sit when they go away
  7. A very special car indeed. I'm sure you'll look after it well
  8. Sounds like the bearings aren't sitting in the cups properly. The headsets I've worked with have slither shaved off one edge of what will be the top or bottom to seat into the cups
  9. What was the problem when trying to fit the new forks?
  10. Really sorry to hear of your loss, pets are one of the family and its never easy saying goodbye. Matthew
  11. We made the decision on the 9th August 2010 to put our dog Timmy to sleep. It was by far the Hardest yet Easiest decision we've ever had to make. 2 Years on and the boys still talk about him as if he was here yesterday with us. His pictures are up around the bungalow and his ashes are still with us and although he didn't move to this bungalow we know where he would be happiest and that is where he is resting. It does get easier with time although we still can't bring ourselves to spread his ashes :'( Matthew
  12. my 312mm Brembo discs from a year ago Havent seen any rust on them yet
  13. I like it.. Just married and thinking about modding the car whilst on honeymoon I can't comment on the Superpro (not used them on my vRS), I fitted the Powerflex wishbone/ARB bushes and don't have any complaints
  14. I sold my PD130 at around 131k but I only sold it as I needed another car for towing (My pd130 was lowered and to me it sat just right and I knew I wouldn't be happy with it sat higher) I had a Sach's organic clutch fitted around 90k and kept the OEM DMF and to my knowledge was still going strong after the car was sold on later with 150k + on it Gearbox oil is a must, I had mine changed at 90k when I had the clutch/wishbone bushes changed and it felt like new afterwards Had it not have been for the Caravan situation I would probably still have it now and it would be close to 200k (I still wish I had it to see that magic number)
  15. I bought it to archive my parents Vinyl so has light use. I was very supprised at just how easy it was todo and the quality of the sound is better than expected. 16. yep but I'm stuck at home with my 2 brats (wonder if I could hide them in someones suitcase ) I can't even get out and about with them through the holidays so they spend most of their time stuck at home with me
  17. All the best Bryan, shame I couldnt help you anymore Anyone thinking about it, You wont regret buying this, I test rode one of these when I was looking for my Full Suspension bike and it was truly awesome
  18. Don't you just hate seeing friends/family/work colleagues going away on holiday knowing your not
  19. Looking really nice, I've always had a soft spot for your car and IMO is the best Estate on here
  20. I've not driven the CR140 but do have the PD140, The PD140 16v feels smooth to me and with a Shark remap its even smoother with the power delivery although the PD Grunt is still there and over 1yr later I've not had any issues with clutch/turbo etc etc (and no DPF to worry about)
  21. We goto Tourquay every year, Stay in the caravan just outside Newton Abbot. Visit Paignton Zoo every year (The boys love it) and spend time up towards Okehampton (as we have friends up there) Some lovely NT places down there too
  22. I also thought that a TV license is required to cover the reception of radio signals to your car radio? or has that been scrapped?? If so Freeview to the car and no License required :)
