  1. Same oil is used regardless at my dealer, they only seem to have the longfile in the barrel.
  2. Well, its booked in next week for it to be checked, but a couple of better photos. I think its actually engine oil. I have checked around the filter and rocket cover but that all looks ok. https://goo.gl/photos/EVmcgbnMGPEd1xxM7 https://goo.gl/photos/StuqAPx8tZQbNT94A
  3. That's pretty shocking, I hope you pushed for a refund on the work not done/done badly.
  4. They asked the parts supplier how to fix the car?!!!!!
  5. you said the cam tensioner had failed, now your looking into the recall on the camshaft bearing issue from oil starvation. You also metioned timing chain failure. So, you need to go back to the beginning and get your story straight. I dont work for skoda, but i appear to be the only one on here who got their replacment engine FOC and a free service 3 years outside the warranty. #humblepie p**sing people off won't help you avoid a 3 figure repair bill.
  6. Thats the camshaft issue, this is the timing chain issue?
  7. Ask them for a copy of this "recall", I bet they don't show you it!
  8. The FMDSH is not a ticket for a free unlimited warranty, they take the whole ownership into account otherwise people like me would'nt be paying £400 on warranties. A FMDSH helps (mostly) when it comes to selling the car and some warranty companies look at it more favorably when assessing claims. If you did not purchase the car new, or have it on finance then the supplying dealer is your only hope.
  9. Unless the OP purchased a warranty and/or purchased the car new I doubt Skoda would be interested, why should they? Better of pursing the dealer as its them you purchased the car from and have statutory rights.
  10. I tried to google for an image of the underside of the engine but failed!
  11. Hi, sorry its not at the Cv joint, its just towards the rear. There is possibly a mount or something which is shiny alloy colour and its dripping from that. Yes it culd be drive shaft. I wonder then if that's covered under my 2 year warranty.
  12. Hi, noticed a blob of dark green ish oil, just to the right of the drivers side front wheel. I had a look around the engine bay, I found something looking oily: https://goo.gl/photos/4UEwDqerApKzTXpJA Look up from my foot, you can see a small patch of shiny oily residue. The wheels rest on the mats! https://goo.gl/photos/FgdnJe8u8hpQShwK7 Any ideas? Nothing has been done to the car except a service last Nov with brake fluid change and a new engine Feb 2015! I washed the underside a few weeks ago with my Karcher under chassis cleaner so it must be something fresh. The oil (if it is that) looked very "clean" but not sure if it was oil. I can see where its dripping, but the photo is too blurred. There is a shiny piece of something near to the CV joint and it was dripping from there.
  13. If its done under warranty you still get 2 yrs warranty on the work, I got this confirmed.
  14. The warranty rep said they are not regulated by them. In the end the FO did review it and couldnt offer anything. I felt the terms were unfair.
  15. Sorry to bring this old thread up, I have this issue. Its a creeking coming from the speaker grill. When I press the inside handle in or the grill in it creeks. I have tightened up the screws under the handle and around the door card. Any other ideas?
