  1. Apparently Steed was a bit of a reluctant driver....but regardless there are lots of really nice cars from this era usually on display in the Avengers, unless you are easily distracted elsewhere of course..

  2. Hi Dave,

I am sure that others will have touched on the technical side of the ownership experience, from my brief tenure with a VRS estate (only a few months ) the stand out negative issue to be aware of is the surprisingly harsh ride.

It isn't a problem for many but certainly check it out before purchase would be my advice.

  3. They are generally pretty good,

I sympathise with your "noisy neighbour" issue....A while back staying in one while working away (Oh the glamour...) I watched a couple of episodes of Star Trek back to back before going off for food/beer. Back in the room the guy next door had the same episodes on really loud and then again at about 2 am, by now I knew what was going to happen to Capt. Kirk off by heart.

I resorted to banging on his door in my pants (not a pretty sight) and telling him in a robust manner that he might like to find his remote control.

The guy was so apologetic, he had fallen asleep and couldn't have been more contrite. I felt like a bit of a bully afterwards.

One of the great things about Brisky is how these random threads throw up these memories...!!....Thanks..

  4. I've recently put a deposit down on a 2013 Fabia Vrs Estate

Is there some where that list what Optional Extras/Spec they had they choice to come with

IE Painted Calipers, Sat Nav, DAB etc

    Thanks

I am sure that if you have a good look around the site you will be able to download the appropriate Fabia brochure, this will outline the standard spec and a list of available (at the time) extras. I purchased a new VRS estate in 2011 and spent a fair bit on things like climate, arm rest, storage boxes, rear e windows etc....not very clever as I sold it 5 mths later....an expensive lesson learned...!

  5. seen the price of that? i know theres different levels of it but if you work out the annual premium, you really do have to have a catastrophic problem.

I feel sorry for the old ladys that pay it for 'peace of mind' or 'i've had it for years and the price has slowly crept up'. BG are a robbing bunch

Boiler cover is a waste of time too, I go to no end of customers who've had BG cover for years, then when it does break BG say the parts for the boiler are obsolete, but dont worry because they can fit a new boiler for £5k. I've come along, got the part shortly after off the shelf at my local parts supplier and its all up and working again after i've fitted it.

No doubt that is the case sometimes...but there is an element of protection for "the old ladys" who would otherwise have to trawl through "Yellow Pages" to find a possible likely lad who will rattle the case for 5 mins, insist it needs a new flux capacitor and charge an arm and a leg for the privilege.

  6. My wife has a fiesta titanium with the 123 bhp ecoboost engine, 2 years in no issues whatsoever. It is a cracking little car , 2 services so far about £140 a time ,no rattles or squeeks or things dropping off !

It is her 2nd fiesta and there is a lot of uninformed drivel around about Ford cars in general.

    Enjoy your new car.

  7. Not really relevant, but I had a Mk 2 for 18 mths and loved it. Not a rattle or a squeak to be heard. Hopeless sales dept but very good service team at the same dealer....! As a brand (in my limited experience) happy to recommend.

  8. We recently went to see Fleetwood Mac at the NEC Brum (sorry Genting Arena) & the young couple seated directly in front of us took endless selfies throughout the 2 1/2 hour gig......in their seats.... so all they got was lots of pics of ugly me, wife & daughter gurning at them in the background.

I think they failed to grasp that the stage was a full 180 deg in the opposite direction...?

  9. We actually borrowed a mates from work when he went on holiday because we couldn't afford one when 1st married !

I do remember watching Rambo & also promising the local video shop that I would return their one copy of "Nightmare on Elm St" early because

    someone else had booked it.....!

  10. We have a new Fiesta Titanium (one from top spec; list price about £16.5k) with windy up windows in the back. After about 5 mins I have forgotten about it, but there are only 2 of us in the car.

Only the Titanium X (or maybe the ST..?) get electric rears in the Ford Fiesta range.
