Thanks for the info & taking the trouble to reply.

As title really......
I stumbled on to this genre via a free E Book download ; really enjoyed the tale and now find myself looking for more. Always a difficult task when it's a subject about which you know little.....!
So....any Steam Punk fans out there to guide me in the right direction please...?

^^^^^^ as above regarding the rear styling of the Toledo. I have seen only one on the road & immediately thought it had a more attractive rear.

Hello Tony & welcome along ...seems a good choice of car....enjoy.

Are we talking new or used on the Panda 4x4 & how used?
I think i would be looking at the Diesel 1.3 Multijet.
Suzuki now have the new Swift 1.2 petrol 4x4, and its quite a bargain for what you get.
There was special offers on up to September, but i am sure Dealers will still be looking to get sales and offer discounts.

Yes, the Suzuki Swift VAT free offer is on until Dec....still tempted myself.
Top spec 4 x 4 version is currently about £13,500.........

SWMBO's Fiesta has a heated windscreen (as well as a back ...obviously !) & after nearly 2 years she still does not know which button operates which....
" Oh I just turn them both on..."

I seem to have a habit of starting threads asking for info/experience and/or opinions on random cars that seem to have passed me by.....
...apologies but here we go again.
A local dealer has a very nice looking low mileage Mitsubishi ASX diesel 4wd.
This model seems to have been lost amongst the dearth of Nissan Qashqai's and of course the Yeti etc etc.
So anybody know anything please ? good or bad opinions always welcome....this new car searching is a stressful business you know !
I quite fancy something more car like than 4 x 4 ish so this looks kinda interesting..?

I live near to one of the (few) dealers and do see a few, although this has dried up lately I have to say.
The 4 door saloon is a really nice looking car especially in grey and the seats are good but sadly the rest of the interior is poor.
The only way it makes sense is if they are at the prices you have seen.

I would like to contribute:
Knockin in Shropshire & yes there is (or was.... not been for a "bit") a village shop.

I have a neighbour with a Peugeot RCZ (?? the coupe..)...
....now close your eyes and visualise this chap....................yes that's it you have him perfectly !

This is what I pootle about in now.
But the lack of them means you don't get the same feeling of a friendly owners group when out and about.
Everyone just stares.
....they certainly stared at the shy retiring fellow I saw in a lime green (with blacked out windows) one recently. It was probably the fact he kept slowing down then really really revving the thing that ensured everybody looked at him though..!

.............always "one tight not too tight"........

Thanks for your comments.
I am always wary of posting "long winded threads" but sometimes it is the only way to try and explain a scenario...appreciate you taking the time to read it !!
It is my wifes'car with a noticeable private plate so I have told her that they have got her marker now.....!

Good info & useful too thank you.

While taking my wife to work this morning we had an incident with a police car that has resulted in me questioning my own driving knowledge.
Sorry it is a bit long winded...but having been told by a police officer that I need to read up on the "Highway Code"......
A residential road comfortably wide enough for 2 way traffic. There is always one side clear & the other has intermittently parked cars. This means (we use the route daily) that you can progress in one direction but traffic in the other has to manouvre into the gaps in the parked cars to wait for clear road. Unless it is a bus or a skip lorry of course ...they then have right of way !!
We are driving down the clear side, road is empty apart from a police car coming towards us they ignore the parked car slalom and continue straight at us..I have to brake to give way to them. NO sirens or lights I emphasise.
As they pass I throw my hands up in the universal "what's going on ?" gesture and continue to the nearby junction.
Imagine our surprise...the police car does a U turn comes after us and the passenger, a seargent gets out and comes to the car (now holding up traffic),
His attitude is amazingly aggressive. Why had I gestured at them ? Why had I swore at them ? (I did not, my wife is an old fashioned girl and bad language is not in our family vocabulary). By removing my hands from the wheel I was not in control of the car & could be penalised with 6 pts etc etc he went on & on.....My driving was agressive and dangerous.
However the reason for this post.....
I suggested that as my side of the road was clear that I had a reasonable expectation that I had right of way and the onus was on them to give way to me.
According to him, this is completely incorrect, once they had started past the parked car they then had right of way and it was me who should allow their progress....
3 times he told me to go away and read the "Highway Code" .
We were able to see each other from about 100 yards away so they could easily have braked.
Did we just catch this officer at a bad time, he was a Seargent and clearly an experienced policeman so was his interpretation of events correct ?
If so, and my thought that "If the obstruction is on your side you give way" is clearly wrong.
Thanks for reading.....any comments please ?

Sorry I do not have a solution but I certainly do empathise...!
I bought a new Fabia vRS about 18 mths ago & realised almost immediately that the ride quality was so shocking that it had to go...it lasted 5 mths (..& yes I did have a test drive although it was the hatch..?)
The moral for me is test drives are more than essential.
Good luck with this .....

That's a shame, but shows how good it could be!
on another note.....anyone know where the wheels are from? I fancy a set for mine when it arrives!
As I alluded to in my earlier post, they look like the 16" items supplied as std on the VW High Up....? not sure of the name etc but a quick look over on the VW official site should give you more detail.
-
That does look very nice, don't fancy having to clean those wheels!
...they look like the wheels on the posher version of the VW UP.....?

I have just sold a mk2 Mazda 3 mps on which nothing rattled squeeked or fell off in my 18 mths of ownership.
It was a tremendous car highly recommended if anyone is ever thinking about one.
This "I hate...<insert country of mfr here>" is just bloomin silly.
If you like the look of the car, it does what you need & it delivers you & yours in comfort & safety who cars what part of the world it comes from.......?

I used to have a 52 mile commute (104 round trip) daily.
No motorway but more than half dual carriageway. The most important thing in my opinion is the tiredness factor towards the end of the week.
If you have had a crap day, that Thurs evening drive home is exhausting......Fri less so of course..!
Weather also is a key consideration.

Welcome along matey...... ....but you really need to stop lurking in the bushes.....

In my opinion grey looks much nicer than blue so well done on your choice.
Do'n forget to change your sig too.......
What to replace my VRS?

Yep & perhaps I think other peoples choice of car is pure cack too but am far to polite to say on this forum.
