Congrats on the new car,it is good to see someone who starts a ...."I am thinking of buying ...." thread actually do it ! Well done matey.

I remember reading an article in a car mag a while back that "mfr's see blue as being more green than green"......!..go figure..? .....why is a carrot more orange than an orange anyone....?

I do not think they are relocating by choice........

I'm guessing about....£12k........?......

Pretty much agree with others comments however my major negative point is re the ride quality which for me, is very firm. The hatch (which I have driven extensively) has a different feel without a shadow of a doubt. Interior is nice, seats are good but build quality is only fair, I was very dissapointed moving from an Octavia and perhaps naively expected a smaller version....

I have always been happy with DTE in Kidderminster, although a personal recomendation is always a risky business..........

Boot liner for 2011 Hatch.
curleybar replied to SpeedyJD's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I use an Autoform boot liner which I got from roofbox.co.uk, does the trick nicely. If I'm folding the rear seats down, I tend to cover them with an old shower curtain as its waterproof. This makes me think of US cop shows on tv when there is usually a body secreted in there....! -
My other half has a new 1.4 zetec (ooh err...) and it is a flippin great car. I prefer it to my rattly jerky Fabia vRS anyday. However the Skoda is a little quicker.

Welcome along...my wifes' car came from your fair island recently and is still tunes to "Radio Guernsey" !..although the reception is a bit iffy here in the West Mids....
-
Just been to my local dealer who have about 12 Octy vRS's in their compound....anybody still waiting...?
-
Hi mate & welcome along.... I had an 07 vRS (pd) for 18 mths and had no issues whatsoever. It really was a super car and you will be well pleased if this is your choice. As others have said the CR is smoother and less "diesel like" if that makes sense...?

When I collected my Steel Grey Fabia there appeared to be some areas of painwork with blemishes, I mentioned this when the car was returned to the dealer when it expired after 1 1/2 days and it was resolved when I collected it a week later. In my case it seemed to be poor new car prep, your issue seems a lot more complex...? Good luck.

No matter what car I am considering buying I always subtract 20% from the mfr's claimed combined figure. This usually tends to give me a realistic idea of potential mpg figures .

Yes I had a looksee at a red one too, and I have to say it is very impressive...although the very light coloured high backed vinyl seats didn't really do it for me.

DSG rattles and judders + squeaky rear shocks
curleybar replied to a topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Just about everything rattles squeeks and groans (are they all female....?) on mine, I guess it is all part of the pleasure of ownership... -
stonking deal on diesel DSG, worth it ?
curleybar replied to david allcock's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
You may find that the DSG takes a little getting used too....? I certainly did but then I am an old git who has never previously driven an auto of any sort....
