  2. OK , Just found that shows that ive been reading the manual but not the cover its in , Dealer was wrong said VW 504 and this is 505 , EXPENSIVE STUFF , by the way you must be not far from christchurch , if so i worked in the BAE Site there back in 2000 for a few years use to stay in a Hotel in Highcliffe and Muddiford Thanks john
  3. OK something to look into then . My beauty has arrived picked it up , and yes what a colour , drives like a dream , get some pictures up soon . One question on the type of oil to use , drove away and forgot to ask for a spare litre , when i phoned today they said the oil is 5W-40 VW 504 . Now i thought that was an old oil and had read they need the 0W-20 new spec 508/509 Anyone have the right answer .
  4. Had a message todat that car has arrived at dealers , sent ne a shirt video , and true , just a small spoiler on boot , and oh Blue is so the right colour , next few days to prep and register number plate , picking up thursday 30/11 .S overall about 10 weeks from order date .
  5. Confirmation today via skoda chat line that it landed sheerness on the 16 November , advised 7 > 10 days to get to dealers ( I could pick it up myself less miles to Sheerness than Dealer in Ashford and delivery it direct to myself ). But suppose will have to wait a little longer .
  6. Understand how all this dialogue and views can be informative , , a car withourt an MOT or disputed insurance is a risk to all other road users and persons . plus those in the car , with todays conjested roads its tantermount to putting a gun to ones head .
  7. Car was built week 44 , been sitting at Emden , for a week waiting Custom Clearance , just confirmend after phoning today its now cleared waiting for a Boat , so assuming another 3 weeks to wait .
  8. Your making me even more jealous and In patient , oh the waiting
  9. Something else that is not shown on the car configurator , have to make a check list before i get the car , to see whats missing or added .
  10. Oh , what a beauty , can not wait the next 3 to 4 weeks are going to drag drag Droll .
  11. Mangaed to get the Smart protect and Lifeshine free , as i was comparing to an alternative Dealer price , just to confirm , if i have Heated Seats and Windscreen , i also added ACC , will it have the Speed limiter as well .
  12. My 1.5 DSG ,SEL RACE BLUE of course , with ADC, Heated front seats & Heated Windscreen , ordered 25 september , latest update built and at port 6 November , hoping its here by the end of November .
  13. Had this problem on my old mk 1 octavia , took the unit out and , checked with 12 volt on each bulb , found a few dead replaced with some i got off ebay , and the unit then worked again , maybe if 1 or 2 go , it cuts all the rest out , had to buy a pack of about 100 only a few quid and a bit of trial and error to find the duff ones to replace . may help
  14. Maybe same boat as mine , had the same message from dealer today
  15. So been waiting since wk 43 , when the car should have gone in to build , finally got an answer today that its at status 30 on way to the port , any bets i get it before mid december , would like to be driving by the 6 December as i have a week away in Devon , rather be doing 600 mile round trip in a DSG Race Blue car , should then have it Run in by the time i come back . Cheers
  16. My earlier comparrison was from my 1.9 pd 130 bhp diesel which i have added 245k miles too , No DPF ,no VW fix , and easy to service . But looking at the newer diesels gave me all the added concerns , so petrol it is to be , and the 1.5 petrol gets 150 bhp , No concerns if diesel Tax and fuel price gets hammered .
  17. Had the same decision myself recently , had been doing 18>20 k miles a year , but drooping down to circa 15 k , in an old diesel , no DPF , decided that what with a DPF , AdBlue and all the diesel potential issues gone for a 1.5 petrol octavia , know the fuel consumption may go up , but decided in the long run more stress free. Friend had a Ford Kuga recently where the DPF failed and cost over 1.5k to get it fixed , rearlly think now unless doing in the range of 20k miles a year it has to be a petrol.
  18. My Race Blue now at status 20 , just confirmed , after placing order 20 september , hoping all goes well and get it before the Christmas break .
  19. THINK THE CAR HAS TO BE REGISTERED IN YOUR NAME FOR MINIMUM 6 MONTHS , The way i approaced it was to get deals of CARWOW , to find the lowest that was up in lincoln , then went to my local kent dealer who had also quoted but 500 higher , got them to match the price , and then advised i wanted to put my old car in , so take of the extra 3.5 k , then add extras , with same discount applied and ended up with the SEL Race Blue plus Auotglym + tank of fuel + £1K worth of extras for £18.5 k all in including delivery /tax etc Skoda Configurator price was showing £24800 . AND thats for the latest 1.5 tsi DSG as well
  20. My 2004 octavia with 245k miles passed the MOT in september , so took the option of doing the scrappage deal on a new Octy , as Trade in value was only £250 . Just need to keep it running until delivery hopefully before year end
  21. Just had my date confirmed as build week , 43 , so hopes i have it before christmas . Be interested to see a picture of yours when you take delivery . Cheers
  22. So as part of the latest Scrappage deal decided to take the £3.5k and , order a new Octavia , petrol 1.5 DSG . Rather than waste anything thats good , , is it worth keeping or selling the 6CD Autochanger in the boot , would it be of any use on a new 2017 version . Alloys 16 inch look good for age , be a waste to just scrap , would they be worth anything if swapped with steels to go in for its scrappage .
  23. Thought the Grey would be just to normal and a bit boring ,get a life me thinks
