  1. Funny how you always expect this to happen sooner or later …. Just opened the tailgate fine but when I came to close it pressed the button and it beeps 3 or 4 times and does not move. Tried keeping my finger on the button in case it needed the limits resetting but made no difference. I can pull it down and at a certain position it will close and lock. When locked if I press the tailgate open or the fob it opens about a foot and a half and stops. Anyone he this ? TA ! Edit to say now tried all the quick fixes I can find so it's looking like a proper fault. I've read the small print on my 'All Components Cover' and the two bits that stick out are ' We will not pay for' : Gas Struts ( are the tailgate struts classed as gas ? ) - Strikers and hinges .... We will pay for : Electrics: Control units (excludes software updates unless required as the result of replacing a covered component); switches; relays; wiper motor at the front and rear, heating blower motor, additional fan motor, window regulator motor, sunroof motor, locking motors (excluding closing aid and tailgate drive); and instrument clusters. So looks like i'll be raiding the piggy bank :-(
  2. Go through your insurance if I remember correctly it's costly just to calibrate let alone repair ....
  3. Mine still does it in hot weather but still working .... Touch wood ..
  4. Can you please re-take this picture with that bit clean or photoshop the dust out or use the duster on that bit
  5. I wonder if it was just crap batches ? Mine did seem to go through a bit of a rusty stage but car is 6 years old in October with 34k on the clock and original pads and disks are fine.
  6. No thanks i'll pay my money and have the warranty thats the sensible thing for me to do :-)
  7. Sorry mine was done under warranty
  8. Sorry Skud I cant remember but yes it is peace of mind and it's doesnt take much going wrong to pay for itself.
  9. Hi my solution 4 posts up.
  10. My 6th year cost around £340 and my gear selector in park was covered. My 7th year looks like it may cost around £640 .... I'm seriously considering taking it out although it will probably be the last time unless the 8th year is around the same ! Car has done just over 33k but have no intention of changing.
  11. Dont eat that looks like it gives you the hiccups at best involuntary spasms at worse !
  12. Alas poor Eco Thread.... I knew you well....
  13. I went through some very warm days and did not have it back i'll keep a nose on it ....
  14. Come on guys this is starting to feel like a Pistonheads thread !
  15. Pack it in you lot no preserve discussion allowed on my thread !
  16. 40+ For me was mostly motorway going on hols interesting experiment but as i've said eco mode's not for me.
  17. Sorry I’ve not been much help Val ! Hope you get it sorted !
  18. Sorry Val sunroof is another thing I don’t have ! It’s a great forum I’m sure someone will be along to give advice soon !
  19. Sorry no idea about electric cars. Is it just fuel consumption you are not happy with the Superb ? How long have you owned it ?
  20. No probs sorry I don’t have comfort mode. My advice would be to just stick it In normal mode for everyday driving and forget about eco mode. May not be what you really want to hear but like I said if you are not happy with the mpg I would look to change for something more frugal.
  21. Never said anything about driving aggressively ? In my testing on a 3 mile commute to work over 3 weeks using eco mode made hardly any difference to normal mode. Using eco mode on a holiday trip made a decent difference.
  22. As I said in my other thread I’ve had 40+mpg out of mine. It just takes practice and technique. I used it just out of curiosity but I have to ask if you wanted decent fuel economy why did you buy a car with this engine ?
  23. Guess it depends which motor you have I had some decent results the few times I tried it but it takes a good technique to get the best. However 280 horses and eco mode ? Nah ….
  24. I enjoyed all my Octavia’s in fact if it wasn’t for my 2010 Scout’s time bomb 1.8Tsi I would probably still own it today ! If I had to choose my fav between that and my current 280 Superb it would be a very close run thing ….
  25. This it's dead easy though so dont panic :-)
