  1. Ok 👍 My point was Dooge's vRS looks slightly high, even though it is lower from the factory. I've attached a couple of photos of my standard vRS on level ground. Admittedly I'm only going off looks from a photo and not actual measurements but there seems to be a difference. Not even sure what the point is I'm trying to prove 😂
  2. I don't understand your comment!
  3. Like the black Xtremes. Your car looks unusually high though!
  4. Mine has done this from approx 25k miles, now on 47k (owned car from new). New spark plugs and air filter this year as per service schedule however the used spark plugs weren't bad at all. It disappears once warm. Am I too concerned? Not really.
  5. Yes, I did what I should have done before posting here and restarted the phone. All good now 👍 Not that there was any doubt, but I'm really impressed so far. Connects surprisingly quick, is very convenient and eliminates the disconnection issue. Thanks again.
  6. Sorry to keep pestering. When using the Google assistant function to play a song on Spotify, it states "something went wrong, open the app and try again". Tried this and still doesn't work, have you come across this?
  7. Fair enough! Where do you place the unit out of interest?
  8. Ordered last night, fitted tonight and seems to work 👍 Did you get any commission? 😁
  9. Thanks 👍 Take it the dongle works well, no major issues?
  10. Yeah, considered / still considering this. If you're on a long journey you'd have to switch back to the cable to keep the phone battery topped up. Not a massive issue. Any suggestions for a dongle? I know Motorola do one but last time I looked availability wasn't great.
  11. Another OnePlus 8T user with the same annoying problem. The only way to sort it according to numerous threads online is to root the phone and download an app to limit the full charge so that it never gets to 100%. The same does not happen in my wife's Hyundai Tucson so it does seem to be a VAG issue.
  12. Glad I searched before posting! Surprising a channel like the mighty Carwow did a vRS feature.
  13. https://skodapartsdirect.co.uk/product/skoda-octavia-2013-2020-19-xtrem-alloy-wheel-black/ I used this information, apologies if it's incorrect.
  14. I've had 235s on mine for over 3 years. The Xtreme rim is 8.0J.
  15. Drive it. If you understeer and crash, it won't have one fitted. 😀 That one looks like an original 245 so should have the VAQ.
  16. I would (and did) go for a 2L TSI variant whether that's vRS or 190. However, it would be interesting to see a real world comparison between the 190 and the 1.4 or 1.5 TSI, in terms of performance and economy. We had a 1.4 TSI Beetle and I was really impressed, it was quick through the gears and plenty of acceleration in 6th on the motorway. Some hesitation issues reported around this forum however our Beetle seemed fine.
  17. It does make the daily fuse inspection hard work, admittedly.
  18. Re VAQ - the speed at which you can exit a roundabout in the dry is pretty impressive. It just pulls you round. Occasionally I find it almost too aggressive and end up veering towards the LHS of the road. Having had powerful FWDs that understeer I would say for the odd occasion it steps in, it is worth it. You can control it's level of input in the drive mode settings.
  19. Must haves imo: front and rear parking sensors, alcantara seats and auto dimming mirrors all round - I genuinely miss this when driving our other car. VAQ diff is nice the 3 times per month its engaged! I don't get on with DSG so went for manual. Would have definitely gone for a TC auto if it existed!
  20. I got my 245 new in Feb 2018 and it's really only been driven by myself so always warmed up properly, driven around road imperfections and parked miles away from the shop entrance. However I do enjoy a good blast now and then and it's towed our decent size caravan for the past 3 years so hasn't had an easy life. It's on 44k miles with full service history and has had ZERO faults. Attempt to look for an unmodified or lightly modified example that's likely to have been owned by an enthusiast (x4 decent tyres, FSH at specialists, rear bumper protector, detailed ...?) The only 'issue' is the lack of sound insulation, but that's VAG's fault not the Octavia's 😉
  21. I don't do arty photos of the car anymore! I think there are nicer wheel designs than the Extreme but they do give the vRS a distinctive look. If you're going for 19s bear in mind ride quality will be worse.
  22. Sorry to resurrect this old thread. Seems I was all talk and wimped out of changing the wheels - the original and corroded 19" Extremes are still installed. However my new plan is to buy some 17" steel wheels to use for winter. Then have the Extremes refurbished for use in summer - suffer the ride quality for the improved looks. Found some steelies on Oponeo. 17", 6.5j and 38 offset. £62 each. I'm interested in what tyre width works with the vRS, people's winter set up experiences etc. 205, 215, 225? The profile will be matched to maintain the same overall diameter as what's on now.
  23. My 2018 Octavia has creaked at the front from near enough new. The noise is significantly worse now at coming up to 5 years old. It makes the noise on extension, not compression so speed bumps and travelling over high to low points in the road cause it. Pot holes aren't an issue, possibly due to the higher speed of compression / extension. I'm also all ears to suggestions!
  24. I got my vRS 245 new in Feb 2018. Now with 42k miles of family duties under its belt, it has been a completely fault free and a truly excellent all round car.
