  1. Anyway, Bodge, I just need the Air Flap Position motor to cure this yeah? Just had a quote of £68 for one.
  2. Open the glovebox, so the light comes on, you cruel, cruel person!
  3. My blowers have been pulsing actually, so its good to know its not dangerous. I have my mate in the trade trying to source me the part, and depending on price, I'll fit it. Cheers for the help everyone.
  4. ****. So it will cause my EML light to come on? God damnit! So I need an Air Flap Positioning Motor and a Temperature Motor? Just what I need at the minute!
  5. I haven't, but it even does it when I have the Climatronic switched off..... :S
  6. As above, I have a strange scratch/click from behind the glovebox ONLY when the ignition is on. At forst, I thought I had a rodent in the car, but I realised it only makes this noise when the ignition is live and/or the engine is running. Any ideas? Thanks, Dave.
  7. I drove a 90bhp Ambiente beofre settling on my Elegance 110. It wasn't much different to be honest, but I went for the Elegance because of the Climatronic and the sunroof. It's got bags of power, and I get around 48mpg 'aound the doors'. It will feel a lot more 'solid' than a 1.6. The power delivery is so different. It won't have as much 'gear-time' as you have to change up more often than in a petrol because of the smaller rev range, but once used to that, you'll never look back. I wouldn't go back to Petrol (unless I came accross a nice VRS!)
  8. A car is no longer representative of it's model when you can no longer recognise it... simples!
  9. Would you be so good as to get me a price for 4 x 85mm badges then my good man? PM me if it's better. Thanks a lot for your help with this!
  10. I know, I thought thatgrille badges for the wheels, but they are definitely 85mm, the centre caps cover the bolts etc. These are the wheels. If the badges are aluminium, then they should go over the existing logos. Thanks, Dave.
  11. I have a set of 17" Audi 'Ronal' TT wheels on my Octavia, and I desperately need some centre cap badges. I've trailed through EBay listings, and there are plenty available, but none in the size I need. I need 85mm emblems! Does anyone know where I could find and purchase a set? Thanks, Dave.
  12. I'll try that in the morning! Thank you very much!
  13. As per the title, I keep getting the door open light flashing up on my dash. It can come on and stay on, or it will come on and then go off. Its more annoying than anything else! Can anyone shed any light on this for me?? Dave
  14. Mine used to do exactly the same, I got a new pair of FARB bushes (around £5 from a local independent supplier) and bashed em in! Problem sorted!
  15. Possible wheel balancing issue? Probably worth having them balanced anyway. Its cheap enough. Or, worst case scenario, an egged wheel or warped brake discs?
  16. Perfectly right, on both accounts! A brake pad wasn't fitted correctly (3-pin bracket was mis-shapen) and exhaust centre mount had snapped! Both fixed earlier today, and it feels champion now! Thanks for all your help peoples!!! David.
  17. It is only under braking. It's not a cause for major concern, but I am driving to Sheffield on Saturday, so I'm trying to alleviate any of tese little fears I do have! I'll have the wishbones checked. Cheers pd.
  18. I thought that, so had it on the ramps earlier, but nothing. No noises on speed humps or anything. I have a slight clink off my exhaust when I start it up, so I'm wondering if it could be that?
  19. I use mine on my car, I am careful not to get too close on the edges of panels etc, but I happily blast away everywhere else.
  20. As in the title, when I brake in the car, I sometimes (90% of the time) get a slight click/knock from the passenger side front area. It's quite quiet, but noticable to me. I have had the FARB bushes done, and this has not cured it. Any info would be great! Thanks, David.
  21. I apologise, after some thought, the tyres I had were Proxes T1-S, the older ones. The car regularly had tracking done and was never driven like a 'nutter'. It was however lowered on coilovers, so I have no idea whether this had any adverse effect on the accelerated wear progress.
  22. Like I said, I got approximately 5000miles from a full set on a Clio, this was a mixture of normal (work commute, ferrying family etc.) and spirited driving. No track time or anything. They are fantastic tyres, but they have a very soft compound so they heat up quicker - a consequence of this, is that they wear down very quickly.
  23. I had them on a Clio, which is a much lighter car, and they were super sticky in both wet and dry conditions, but they were scrubbed to bits after 5000miles. I wouldn't fancy their chances with the weight of an Octy being thrown around on them.
  24. This might sound ridiculous, but check the passenger side headlight beam adjustment. Turn the ignition on and go to the front of the car to see if it is the headlight. If not, then sorry for wasting your time! On a side note, could it not be your glow plugs taking longer to reach working temperature?
