  1. Get some pics up of it, I've got the little Gaggia Cubika Plus and it's ok, but not as good as the original Gaggia machines.... It's just gone wrong so has gone in for repair but I could be tempted with this to be honest.....
  2. Afternoon all, My car has done 45k but as it was sold by a main dealer I'm wondering if they changed the pads before selling it due to them being close or badly worn? The pads have loads of life on them but I find braking from any sort of higher speed (as in on the Motorway, or for a roundabout at the bottom of a dual carriage way) they really feel like they fade quickly. This isn't after hooning it around and getting them hot either. Anyone else have this problem? At low speeds they work great, really sharp and no complaints but if you have to suddenly brake hard on a motorway for instance it feels like you run out of brake pretty quickly... Is this likely to be the Pads the dealer has fitted? Is it also possible it's just the brake fluid needs changing? I think I'll get it serviced anyway and get the fluid done in case it helps but I always thought the Brakes on the Mk1 Octavia were outstanding so thought the Mk2 would be just as good if not better.
  3. Shock horror people on another Forum don't have high opinions of a car they chose not to buy :-) I'm sure we all feel the same about other brands (Vauxhall, Honda etc) and have our own valid reasons or bad previous experience that prevented you from buying one.... Soft thin sticky paint on all Honda's being one of my biggest turn offs, it's not a big problem to most people but they just end up looking so untidy after a couple of years with stone chips galore... I have had VW's, Seat's, Renaults, BMW's, NIssan's, Mitsubishi's - All have their own problems / niggles but each also have their good points... Have to say my Skoda does everything 90% well enough for me though, it'll never set the tarmac on fire but i have faith it will start each time I need to go anywhere, will also always have plenty of room for my Detailing gear
  4. Not sure if it helps but I had mine all done in the same finish as the original wheels on a BMW E39 M5 - Almost a black chrome type finish but think they suit the car well Black insides too
  5. My car has always done this, but I just ignore it and put up with it to be honest! My wife used my car the other day and said she was almost convinced there was a Mouse living in the dash - it is that sort of noise to be honest! I haven't really investigated it yet, but the car does it at the same time everytime and it's basically a sort of sound of flapping - as if something was tapping against one of the vents.- It sounds like it comes from the centre console behind the vents? It does it when you stop and have the car on idle, it does it 3-4 times then stops but to be honest you would only really hear it when stopped anyway. Has anyone else ever found something like this? (Forums are often great for helping diagnose these sort of weird things so hoping I'm not mad and someone else has had it)!
  6. I was going to say the same as Slick123 - The main difference is width and diameter of the wheel, not what it's made of. Get a car on narrow skinny 15's in the Snow and it will be far better then any 18x8 whether it's made of Alloy, Steel it doesn't matter.... 17's give a better ride then 18's too, but then our roads are so poor anyway you may as well have the car at least looking nice haha.
  7. Thanks, but luckily they don't live there any more so I wasn't worried about that :-)

  9. Now after some serious TLC, Eibach Pro lowering springs and new rims Getting there anyway, the car has actually dropped a tad from these pics as the springs have settled a bit now... Would love to go lower, but as a family car used for lugging around loads of Detailing gear on weekends it's not really practical - It certainly looks far better out on the road though so I'm happy with that! Just thinking what to do next, possibly a remap but not sure if I should do anything cosmetically or not... Wouldn't mind a small spoiler for the roof
  10. Cracking job there, great work in one day too! Shame it's gone so off topic with people all trying to give their 2p's worth on what detailing is / isn't and how a car should be cleaned! The guy was only showing off how great his car is now looking - It wouldn't have looked that good brand new after the dealers had "prepped" it and got swirls all over it Great job anyway, I'm also a DW Supporter so completely see the benefits and love nothing more then a properly detailed car but I understand it's not for everyone so just let them get on with it while us / those that are into it should equally be left to enjoy it. Congrats again though, car looks fantastic! Such a great colour when it's properly polished and protected.
  11. Thanks already_1uk - Payment received.
  12. Thanks for the replies - Still available as above and PM's replied to, just been away a few days so not replied - Sorry for the delay!

  14. Sorry, now updated with what's left - Leather Cleaner and 1 x Gallon was sold elsewhere so this is all remaining as of 24th Feb (9am).

  16. ^^^^ Huge improvement there!! Lights look great but I really like the Badges too, I called my local dealer and they were £19 each (VRS & Octavia) so I've delayed it for now as it seems a lot for badges... I have seen an Octavia like mine where they just removed the Octavia badge and just left the small VRS one below it, that looked pretty good too.
  17. I'd be interested in Retro fitting - How much does that cost roughly? As I understand it my current display takes up about 1/2 of the alloted space, so I'm assuming the Maxi-Dot would fill that whole gap?
  18. It's working already - I had considered those Chrome rings so will keep them on my wanted list
  19. Super Skoda seems to be just about the only site I've found that has a massive list of parts for the Skoda's, so just thought I'd see if we could have this thread so people can post up pics of the mods they've bought so we can see what they look like in real life. I keep going through a list of parts I'm tempted to buy, but often wimp out last minute as I just can't be sure if they'll look good or not. To start the thread off, this is the only thing I have got from there so far but please feel free to carry it on: BEFORE AFTER
  20. Sounds like you must drive on the "Enthusiastic" side of the scale, I have to say one of the best Tyres I've tried in recent years is the Hankook V12 Evo's, I had a set of 4 fitted to a Megane 225 Sport and the car was completely transformed, huge amounts of grip in terms of braking, cornering and fantastic in the wet too. By far one of the best value for money tyres at the moment - I even rated them higher then Conti CS2's to be honest, if they were twice the price I would have believed it from driving on them. Bargain on Camskill at the moment too £90 each http://www.camskill.co.uk/m61b0s134p15227/HANKOOK_TYRES_CAR_HANKOOK_K110_V12_EVO_HANKOOK_K_110_V12_EVO_-_225_40R18_92Y_XL_TL_
  21. You have to hit something fairly hard to knock the allignment out - pot holes can do it if they're big but you would usually know about it as it takes a fair old whack! If they're new tyres and it feels any different I would get it checked to be on the safe side, either that or risk wearing them out a bit quick....
  22. £6400 sounds cheap to me!!! I bought mine in October to give you an idea: 2006 (56) TFSI, Race Blue, Estate 40k Miles Xenons, Jumbo, electric windows throughout (didn't even know they weren't standard these days), Cruise control, dual zone climate, 6-CD changer, 18" wheels, Rear parking sensors... Think that's about it and I paid £7500 (With Skoda warranty remaining until April), plus 4 new tyres.
