  1. <I'm sure you will> correct me if I'm wrong, but: It's not 100% proven you cant fit chains to the Yeti ? The spyder ones should fit (albeit maybe £200 more ?)
  2. Might have been more sensible to build the lights into the underside of the mirror.
  3. I was sat in traffic today, so had a fiddle with my old Nokia (BB is away for fixing) which I failed to pair the other night. Turned on Bolero (bluetooth on handset off). Pressed <setup> then <phone> - error message "no phone found" or something to that effect. Then turned on bluetooth and set the phone off searching - after a few secs paired a treat ("1234" password).
  4. Chose my 1.2 2wd partly because of the dire state of the roads locally. Specification for the money was pretty good in Elegance trim (I had ordered a golf with £2k worth of extras that the Yeti had as standard (apart from reversing camera!) but still lacked Xenons). Previous Skoda owner, happy with reliability. Not bothered about "the badge". Low insurance / servicing. 1.2 a cracking engine (ordered without a test drive). My mum was disgusted that i could have had a BMW / Audi / VW, but chose a Skoda. When she saw the Yeti she fell in love with it, and admitted she'd had to eat her words.
  5. I don't believe in all this star-sign mumbo-jumbo. But then, us Capricorns are like that....
  6. Have you tried a different phone ?
  7. Or I could be even greener and walk ?
  8. Mine did this - as you say, pressing <phone> just muted the sound. Try a factory reset, then pairing another phone ?
  9. Ooops - typo. 8-9 miles a day !
  10. Drove gently to work today - urban run, 89 miles, mostly 30-40mph, taking it easy. Not much sitting in traffic. MFD indicated just short of 48mpg.
  11. I was playing with mine the other night and it did this. Try turning bluetooth off on the handset. Turn the radio off too. Radio on, bluetooth on, then search for the headunit again. I needed a password "1234" to connect.
  12. The better built-in ones give you a repeat of next turn etc in the maxidot area when navigating.
  13. Told by a guy who can sell you a new tyre ? The Holts stuff is "endorsed" by the national tyre distributors association.
  14. I have steel grey - looks very smart, and hides the dirt well.
  15. Is this absolutely 100% proven ? I understand local fitters may be reluctant to repair such a tyre, due to the extra time needed to clean, however is it impossible ? It's another of those "run flats arent repairable" when they are.
  16. I've got the spare - which gives you a huge amount of covered storage underneath the false floor. I carry an aftermarket tin of the aerosol repair as well - belt and braces. Had gloop in the last car - 2 x punctures - one was a sidewall puncture, the other a motorway blowout - new tyres needed both times.
  17. Not sure about permanent (pull the fuse ?) but for temp, there is a press-switch on the drivers door pillar.
  18. I'm pretty sure it went down from 12kpa, not up. At one point I had a 110mile per day commute - but thankfully only lasted 2 weeks !
  19. "The Parker's price projector shows you how much your car is likely to be worth after three years and 60,000 miles if you're selling to a dealer." How may people do 20k per annum ? Thought the average was about 9 ?
  20. 1.2 Elegance, Steel Grey, Sunroof, TPM, Spare, Flaps, Mats, Bootliner, powered sub (soon...).

  21. If I am that impressed with the 1.2, the 1.8 must be a stormer - hence the great reviews ! Honest John thought the same. If money were no object, I'd go for the 1.8, but it's a second car for me to urban commute in, so a 1.2 Elegance is perfect. Interestingly, although I do 8 miles into work at mainly 30mph, by the time I get there the oil tamp isn't yet on 90. No wonder they discourage a DPF diesel from short urban commutes.
  22. I remember reading somewhere that the average mini buyer spends £2k on extras.
  23. Still to be determined what hits the UK though ? In other countries you can get power fold mirrors / electrically adjustable seats / part alcantara / purple paint ?
  24. Gentle tootle into work - 42 Back road blast - 35. MPG drops significantly at motorway speeds - if anyone regularly does this, get a diesel !
  25. Been on a lot of A roads and Motorways in my 1.2 this week (10 plate). Took it home on the country lanes today and opened it up a bit - good grief it can handle ! With the long-travel suspension it took everything you could throw at it - very impressive indeed.
