  1. I have my BB paired - very good it is too. I use it often for listening to voicemail - i find this less distracting than a conversation. One gripe - I can't seem to get the DTMF (?) codes to work so if e.g. I'm listening to a message I can key "5" to delete. Anyone figured this ? (Standard Bolero - no Nav).
  2. I know the B pillar kink is a "feature" - however I have wondered would it look better in the (shiny?) black, as per the A and C pillars - to give a totally floating roof ?
  3. i have sunroof and spare wheel on the car (and spare tyre on me...).
  4. On mainly urban commuting I have averaged just over 40mpg over 2.8k miles. If I work late, so less traffic, I can average 48mpg over my 8 mile commute - pretty impressive (these are all computed figures). I think if my commute were fast dual carriageway / motorway, the mpg would drop significantly - if this is your usual driving I'd go for the 110hp diesel.
  5. Took my 1.2 across hardknott / wynose passes - needed to be in first a chunk of the time, but a very gutsy performer !
  6. Car Tax / Road Fund Licence are banded on CO2 emissions - so a 2wd version of a vehicle with the same engine could end up in a different banding than a 4wd (less weight / drag from the extra running gear). My dealer explained as I picked up my 2wd with Panaroof and spare that you couldn't order that combo now, as the extra weight pushes it into the next emissions band.
  7. I have a 2wd 1.2 - very pleased with it. I dont need 4wd. The winter prior to this we hardly got any frost, never mind snow. Remember, 4wd does not manufacture traction - it optimises what is available. Would be interesting to see a 2wd yeti on winter tyres against a 4wd on summer !
  8. Hi Dave - has your car had the full treatment yet ?

If so, would love to see piccies (as I'm sure would a few others).

  9. Not in my experience. Took wheel off, left vehicle, took the wheel, wife and kid to local National Tyres / Kwik Fit (is a few years ago, but one of these) where a new tyre was purchased / fitted. RAC man advised my mrs to get a continental - luckily she rang me and I got a Michelin fitted. Got another Michelin fitted to the same axle locally a couple of days later - for a good £30 cheaper. Little girl found it exciting to have a ride in the van - and proceeded to wave at every RAC driver afterwards.
  10. Agreed - it's so quiet around town, I find pedestrians can sometimes step out in front of you !
  11. I have a 1.2 Yeti, and have driven a 1.6 tdi Golf. The petrol drives more like a diesel low down, and the diesel more like a petrol.... The 1.6 has extremely poor pickup from very low revs, then delivers a chunk of torque, and is then very smooth and reasonably economical (the one I drove got average of 50mpg cruising at 80 - nothing exceptional). The 1.2 is simply great - very responsive / torquey from low revs, but you can still thrash it if you like !
  12. Sorry to hear of your misfortune. My wife got t-boned by a cement mixed in our 6 week old Scenic years ago. Horrible at the time, but at the end of the day it's just a car. The whole point of insurance is to put you back in the same position prior to the accident. If you're not happy - don't accept the repair. I doubt on such a new vehicle it will be beyond economic repair - got any pictures to post ?
  13. Think on the more expensive Golfs it's chromed metal ? Could possibly retro-fit. Personally dont see why it is an upgrade.
  14. Saw a black one in Moira on Monday.
  15. Many thanks - was initially worrying, as no O2 signal up there (part of the reason I like it so much - no email / voicemail !). Once I'd spoken to the Mrs, I was a lot more relaxed. My eldest has to keep a journal over 1/2 term, so she is incredibly excited - much more interesting than Eurodisney !! By the way, off topic, but I got a set of Lidl roofbars today - not sure if they fit yet, however for £30 a bargain. They had 4 sets locally - all gone by 08:05.... TUV approved, 90kg weight limit.
  16. Mrs E and the kids kept the Yeti up in the Lakes today, whilst I went back to work in the "big car". They ended up being locked in the campsite shop for 2 hours until the cumbrian shooter was dealt with.... Not seen the news tonight, but you might just spot a steel grey Yeti in the background !
  17. Saw a white (I think ! - it was chucking it down and in a set of trees!) Yeti on the way in to Ambleside - quick flash, got a quick double-tap back. Not xenons on the other though, so I think an SE ? (My Mrs called me sad....).
  18. I think they'd be more concerned if they had fields full of unsold vehicles.
  19. Has anyone gone for the exhaust trims ? I ordered them for my 1.2, but the dealer advised the exhaust needed cutting to fit, so bottled out. On one of the gold forums someone has fitted these to their Mk6 and ignored the fitting advice - they just slid straight on.
  20. They look pretty good - Yeti not listed on the website though ? How much did you pay ?
  21. Would be interesting to see whether (excuse pun) that website was predicting the coldest winter for 30 years this time last year ! I've seen some cobblers in my time, but that it right up there !
  22. I wonder if there will be a surge in demand for orange cars if Blackpool win this afternoon ?
  23. Do Nissans have this button too ?
  24. Amazing what people publish isn't it ? "Catherine Sleigh, Head of Press and PR, 01908 548 042 / 07710 331 389 "
