  1. I have just acquired a 1.0 SEL auto [01/05/20] and I am slowly working may way through the various features. Can any one tell me if it is possible to pre-select the type of route your are offered like on my Columbus- Fastest, Shortest , economical? This system always offers 3 to choose from and I usually want the fastest. Also does the car automatically lock all doors if you leave the car unattended for a while [again like my superb]. So far really impressed lets hope it continues in the same vein.
  2. The UK version does not have a speed indication in MFD. It has mpg (average and real time) trip miles, hours driven, oil temp, but not speed.
  3. is one of the options in the MFD MPH [ i.e. your speed is shown as MPH in this window], if so the car has been set to Australia, and that may explain your problem.
  4. The fact that the default position is to the right suggests that the car thinks it's in a right hand drive country, have you checked which country you are linked to? PS I have no idea how to do this, but I do know that it is possible.
  5. Does it change to the left if you put the left indicator on? On my car whilst it does default to the left I can switch sides with the indicators. If it does switch I would live with the slight problem.
  6. On the subject of fuel consumption, below are my figures, Brim to brim over almost 6 years , No complaints, no remaps just a bog standard 170 bhp L & K Estate Miles/Day Days Total Miles Litres Cost MPG p/mile 60.09 2,168 130,285 12,669 £ 15,086.46 46.69 £ 0.1158 21,935 5.940 Years
  7. You might want to try this site https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/superb/sup/ It list all parts fitted to any Superb.
  8. The chrome plating on the Push Button" part of my gear change knob is pealing off. It has resulted in several sharp pieces of chrome sticking up. These are sharp and likely to cut my hand. Does anyone know if the top part of the knob is replaceable, and if so any idea of the price? Alternative solutions to the problem also welcomed
  9. I have Ivory ventilated leather seats in my L & K estate. The drivers seat back has worn through on the side panel, does anyone the Skoda part number and how much it might cost to replace? Any other ideas to resolve this issue?
  10. I have a 2013 L and K Estate; the "Chrome" trims around the rear quarter windows has been marked, probably by acid at the local car wash. Does anyone know how to remove and replace them? Also the part number and cost would be useful
  11. No, standard 2 wheel drive

  13. Coolant thermostat for DSG gearbox oil cooler. It normally operates if the DSG oil reaches a certain temperature and effectively cools it down. What happens if it is faulty, is that water is constantly allowed to go through the DSG oil cooler and to the radiator. The end result is that water is always passing through the car radiator even though the correct engine operating temperature has not been reached. This means that the main water thermostat is by-passed. My DSG thermostat appeared to stick open sometimes when running, or remain open, resulting in the problems described.
  14. I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that neither Skoda garages or Skoda UK technical support have any understanding of this variable temperature problem. I had the very same problem with my car [2013 L and K estate DSG 170 bhp 115,000 miles] following the cam belt and water pump change in November last year. I took the car back to the garage, but since my problem was intermittent, and did not occur whilst they had it, they declared that there was no problem. I took loads of photos of the Instruments showing low temperatures after hours of driving, and they eventually decided to change the main water thermostat [at my expense] . The thermostat was changed, but the problem remained. I contacted Skoda UK for help to little avail. Eventually after checking on this forum I asked them about the DSG thermostat; they were adamant that this would have no effect, and would not resolve the problem. After months [4] of them refusing to change this part, I said I would pay [again] for the thermostat to be changed. At this point the garage agreed to change it at their expense. The work was done, and surprise, surprise the problem disappeared; my car now warms up much quicker than before, and the running temperature now remains at a constant 90. My fuel consumption has also decreased and I am happy with my car again. I have now driven over 1,000 miles since the work was carried out and I have had no issues with variable temperature, coincidence or what?
  15. It is a DSG auto, thanks and back to the garage tomorrow
  16. A few months ago I had my Cam belt and water pump replaced [ 5 years old and 110,000 mile 2.0 170 BHP Diesel]. Shortly afterwards when driving after sometime [motorway at 70] the water temperature gauge dropped form its normal 90 to nearer 50 and remained there for sometime. When I checked the oil temperature it also had fallen to 60+. The next day the car would not warm up at all even, after 50 miles the gauge barely moved above 60+. I took the car back to the main dealer, who after a few days said there was nothing wrong and the car warmed up as normal. This was the case for a few days after which the problem returned, after driving 140+ miles suddenly the temperature dropped and remained between 50 and 60. Back to the Garage where they decided the thermostat was faulty and replaced it [at my cost]. Picked the car back up and after another long drive the problem returned and the gauge fell to about 60 and stayed there. The following day it took almost 100 miles of motorway driving [70] to reach temperature. The garage have no idea what is wrong, can anyone offer any possible causes and solutions?
  17. My blower stopped working on my L and K estate 2013. Got a replacement from Eurocar carparts , they do two versions: One manufacturer part [Valeo] at £379.99 and one by EIS at £179.99. 18. Thanks for everyone's commentts. Just few answers to the many questions I do wear a wedding ring, i don't use the manual option (too old, too idle and I've paid for the auto so why not use it). The peeling of the chrome is on thè top of the push in knob. The edge has started to peel and is little uncomfortable when you sqeeze it to move the lever. I don't wear hand cream or any other products, and i can't remember the last time i sweated, in the car. I have tried a gear knob cover, but the one i found wasn't a great fit. The process of changing the knob and lever looks to be more complicated than i would be willing to undertake and i suspect that the dealer would want more than i am prepared to pay. Again thanks for your comments but the problem remains.
  19. Can anybody help? The chrome plating on the push button of my DSG gear knob is peeling off and I am left with a sharp edge that catches my finger, Any ideas, has anyone had similar problems, the car is well out of warranty.
  20. I often feel that my car's MPG has reduced since the upgrade, but an accurate analysis over about 10,000 miles either side of the upgrade fix show very little difference. I think from my records the reduction is within statistical margins of error. Pre Update Post Update Miles 9,769 11,372 Litres 949.96 1118.06 MPG 46.69 46.18
  21. Below are the summary figures for my L&K 170bhp DSG. I am one of those nerds who logs every mile and litre, and I have a record of mpg for every tank full since I had the car. I drive carefully and do not exceed the speed limits by too much or too often [ I know sounds boring]. I think 46 mpg average for that car is pretty good. Miles/Day Days Total Miles Litres Cost MPG p/mile 60.16 1,420 85,430 8,311 £ 9,704.51 46.67 £ 0.1136 21,959 3.890 Years
  22. I have purchased a V14 version from LINK REMOVED It loads and works fine, no isssues and a reasonable price.
  23. I am one of those nerds who log every litre of fuel and every mile driven [ I know it's sad but..] I have a 63 Reg 170 L and K Estate with a DSG gearbox, so basically the same model as yours. These are my consumption figures over the last 63,485 miles. I do a fair amount of long runs which obviously improves the overall figures. I log the miles and litres every time I fill the car, which is always to the brim, and the best I have achieved on a fill is 55 and the worst 35 mpg. :- I am a careful driver and am still on the original brake pads with loads left before they need changing. Total Miles Litres Cost MPG p/mile 63,485 6,159 £ 7,240.65 46.80 £ 0.1141
  24. Has anyone tried a Head up Display unit? I am considering buying one to display speed etc on to the front screen. Any views or recommendations ??
  25. Fantastic, my phone number is 07982233670. Can I have an address where we could meet
