  1. Well done mate - nice progress follow. Quick question - the diffusor you plugged did it come from the factory like that with the removable panel?
  2. One more detail added to compliment the rest of the chrome dials. Got a chrome VW knob for my mirror switch. Took it apart and dremeled the inside to make it fit the Fabia stock one. It was easy and looks so much better.
  3. Follow up... finally finished transferring the chrome dials to my ac control unit. A lot of cutting had to be done and then some more customization in order for the base of the buttons to work properly and for the facia to be able to fit over. Finally had to Q-Bond everything together and paint them so they look good. Could have done a few things better but the end result can fool anyone, looks OEM and functions properly, lights and everything.
  4. Dewipered the car the other day and took some shots. Smells like summer already. 30ºC today...
  5. No they haven't touched the MK3 yet - wish I could I find the post of that guy to change your mind.
  6. Those brakes look nice - do you know by any chance if they are heavier than the stock 312mm?
  7. The law is the same here too but police will not bother you and the same goes at the MOT as long as you don't blind others and your beam is correctly aligned. First time I hear a Fabia go in safe mode just because of led brake lights. Are you sure the issue is not somewhere else?
  8. Why not! plus the rear passengers can have that way their own light too. Hello from Greece mate.
  9. Go for a gloss carbon effect with hydrodipp. There is great variety now and the carbon prints look very realistic. A member from the forum posted pics a while back on the facebook page when he did his interior trim and I was seriously impressed. From what I gather he did it himself, the company he works for does hydrodipping etc. Check out the bt-design.cz page and have a look at the carbon trims they got. They really suit white vehicles.
  10. Are we talking about the same guys who did my wheel?
  11. Easily the best interior mode I've done so far. Don't think anything else will beat that.
  12. During Xmas had some free time... silly details.
  13. Will be de wipering the Fabia. I hardly use the rear wiper, when I do it makes the most painful sound (probably it is too dry) and I always wanted to go for the clean look. If for any reason I find it annoying then it is no big deal to re-install the motor and arm back - nothing permanent. There are a few companies that make grommets to cover the hole after the wiper has gone. Some reaseach and I ended up getting the glass grommet made by glass24.com (http://www.ebay.com/itm/161687624730?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=460660337680&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) It is made from glass, comes with adhesive and some very well written out instructions. Initially I bought a glass grommet made by a company called "gecleant" - they seemed popular and so I went for it but they never shipped the grommet and I had to have PayPal to make them refund me. So beware. Also there is a UK company that makes similar grommets - Kill All Wipers. They are cheaper but unfortunately they are made out of plexiglass which means that the surface doesn't reflect in the same way glass does and it can get easily scratched meaning that you will always be able to tell it is there. Anyways, at the moment the weather is too cold - silicone adheesives need warmer temperatures so this de wiper job will need to wait for now.
  14. Hello!!! Nice to see you again
  15. Thanks man all black gloss interior parts have been painted. It is the only way to go - especially the handles.
  16. Looking for a used one hence the title of the post "Used vRS Tdi (what to look for)" Will make it clear in the text too. As for the infotainment, apologies but I don't understand - if it doesn't turn on in 5 secs does that mean it has a fault?
  17. Hello! I'm looking into buying a second hand vRS TDi - now that we got two kids, the Fabia or my wife's Fiesta just don't cut it. Might be ideal for the city but during our last summer vacations it was clear from the get go that space would and is an issue. At the moment I'm looking into an vRS TDi, Combi version and I was hoping if you could give me some pointers specific to this model to help me avoid buying a lemon. Cheers
  18. Does the stock diffuser have to be removed for the cup one to be fitted? By the way subscribed, we might be joining the Octavia family with two kids now.
  19. What about the green accents you were talking about?
  20. Bought myself a set of custom made euro license plates. Quick turn around and great quality - https://www.customeuroplates.com
  21. Changed the horn today - the pitiful meep meep has been replaced by a dual tone (low and high) FIAMM AM80S / AM80SX horn set. These can be found on BMWs, Mercedes, Fords and many others. Not sure why the Fabia (the pre-facelift at least) has such a crappy horn. The kit comes with a relay, brackets and the two horns of course. Another plus us that it is inexpensive, paid 19euros for set. I highly recommend it in case you are not happy with the current horn. If you are interested more details of what I got further down.
