  1. I was very tempted by a white one with a black roof before I got my Green Yeti. Agree with TP that it would look better with black roof rails, the silver rails always seem a bit 'half hearted' as the ends are black. Love the annapurnas though best wheels ever (but I'm biased!)
  2. When I sold my car to a dealer in December 2012 the price was without road tax disc. they then came back to me later (after I had agreed to sell) and asked could they purchase the remaining tax from me for the amount I would have got back from the DVLA. to which i said fine. So I assume that road tax is not included in valuations. Hope this helps.
  3. No worries Johann, would have been past my bedtime by the time I got home anyway! Cheers, Fuzzy
  4. On my last yeti I had to have the widescreen replaced TWICE due to stones whacking it. Grrr!
  5. Spoke to Carol ,this morning. Ive been bumped, only two places available and both taken. Ho Hum, story of my life!
  6. I'm down there anyway on the train for a business meeting, so no bother to stay for an extra 2 hours. Wouldn’t do it normally, but hey I may get to meet the illustrious rockhopper! What’s not to like!
  7. They are going to call me tommorrow so may be joining you in the big smoke! be nice to meet another owner from the forum!
  8. I'm in London on Wednesday for a meeting (going down on the train though) so will drop her an email. I'll let you know what transpires!
  9. I suspect a third party radio surround might well be a different wood colour/pattern and not match the SkodaParts wood trim. Trouble is you never know till you see them side by side. May well get a skodaparts trim for my yeti though does look good with gobi!
  10. my last yeti was on variable service and had its first service at 17,000 miles which was round about a year old.
  11. Hi Rory, unless you have tow bar prep which includes precoding and single electrics to the rear I wouldnt try and do it yourself. You will just end up demented! Ring round various fitters and get some quotes first (unless you really are determined!) FB
  12. My Yeti registered last month still has the standard parcel shelf not retractable. This tend to live in the cupboard under the stairs as I am constantly carrying stuff where the shelf gets in the way. I just tend to put a black cover over stuff while its in the car so nosey parkers cant see whats under it
  13. I bought my first yeti through marlborough (via DTD) great discount and good service but when I went back for my current yeti their best offer was 8% which I could match locally. Skodastore gave the best discount of 12%, my local dealer wouldnt touch that but I was able to match it elswhere by ringing around. I didnt pursue the skodastore offer so dont know who the dealer was. I notice that DTD are offering 11.5% discount on Yetis now, had an email this week from them see below. Skoda Yeti 2.0 TDI CR [140] SE 4x4 5dr £18,765 Save 11.5%
  14. Yes congratulations, keep us informed of how you get on, mpg compared to the yeti would be interesting. Showing my ignorance here but is the 4x4 superb the same as the scout? if so it has got an enormous boot!
  15. Truthseeker is spot on. My latest Yeti I got for cash at 12% discount, (the dealer says they only made £350 on the sale.) They offered me £12,250 on my current Yeti as PX, but I was offerred £12,900 by 'we buy any car' and eventually sold it for £13,050 to a local dealer and that was with a damaged wing. So if you can afford to do it best go for a cash purchase at best discount and sell you car privately (good luck with that) or ring around dealers for the best price. The whole thing is a big game and changes constantly depending on the dealer and how much stock they have in and if they have targets to meet and your purchase might just swing it. Dont be fooled by what appears to be great PX deal see beyond that to what you are really paying. Easier said that done I know which is why the whole process is a bit of a black art!
  16. Fresacre If you have the dosh and nothing better to do with it then get yourself a new Yeti. No reason to assume it wont be as good as the present one and think of those poor Skoda dealers desparate for your cash! Go on you know you deserve it! Fuzzy
  17. The DMF in my last yeti went last year and was replaced under warranty. clonk, clonk, clonk, ooh err missus!
  18. My HTC Desire connects and works a treat after 3 years so no reason to replace it!
  19. Ive just upgraded to an elegance after 2.75 years and 46K miles. I think it depends on what else you need to spend your money on. Remember you cant take it with you when you go,! (Not that I'm planning to go just yet I might add!)
  20. Both elegance and SE have the Bolero as standard The SE Plus is an 'inbetweener' with amundson sat nav, picnic tables, jazzy seats and a 6CD changer in the boot so I think you can have 12 CDs altogether. I suspect more and more folks are using SD cards now for music.
  21. Welcome to the second yeti owners club! Muscovado is a great colour and you cant see the mud! When you say you got £15,500 for your old yeti presume that was PX against the FULL price of the new elegance? The elegance spec is excellent, BTW. If you have two drivers like me the electric seat is a brilliant addition with lots of adjustment and memories linked to separate keys.
  22. Hey, what's not to like about being an old fart. Cheapo rail travel, bus pass, winter payments, free this that and the other. And still fit enough to race my sailing dinghy without falling in. Still need the car though (but with cheap old farts insurance.)
  23. Hi Andy, I was going to go to a specialist like Chester Tow bars who seem pretty good. The Chester Skoda dealer uses them, I think most dealers tend not to fit towbars themselves but sub contract. I havn't got a price yet, waiting till the snow clears!
  24. Hi Joel, Presume its pretty hot down under at the Mo! Am I right in thinking that you only use 7 pin electrics in Australia so have no need for split charging? I understand that split charging is peculiar to the UK!
  25. I have tow bar prep and will be getting a detachable tow ball and a 7 pin connection as I only ever tow a garden trailer or my sailing dinghy both of which are 7 pin.
