  1. Good point Truthseeker, I think that used to be an (expensive) option on the SE as well. I'd have preferred alcantara to leather if it was an option on the Elegance
  2. Its not front fog lights which I find distracting but those very bright rear fog lights that are irritating. and so many people put on their rear fog lights at the slightest sign of mist and forget to turn them off, (Grrr!)
  3. Swipe me robocoprs that's a lot of pics! thanks for that, most interesting. didn't see many of the interior. did you say gobi fabric when you meant gobi leather. or is there a variation in you country that allows fabric rather than leather. just curious. cheers, Fuzzy
  4. My new Nexus 5 works just fine as did my HTC Desire before. Although if I had my phone in my bag down in the passenger foot well it occasionally lost connection for some reason. Bit of a mystery to old fuzzy as to why that should be. Anywhere else in the car it was fine. Computers ay would ya be bothered!
  5. heated w/s and heated seats great combi. hot bum and and a clear screen, what's not to like!
  6. JCP is spot on, the 1.8 is a little cracker. I'd have it myself if it wasn't for my big mileage. yeti no 3 ay, I'm on no 2 but haven't seen anything better so far thats as much fun to drive.
  7. I was suprised to find my 170 at 40.6 mpg not as good as my old 140 at 42.2, ( I use fuelly to record fill ups) Maybe I need to run it in for another 10,000!
  8. I had TPM on my VW warned me when a rear tyre was down in pressure which was caused by a nail. Similarly on the yeti a few years later warned me of front wheel tyre pressure down because of another nail. Dammm nails, Grr! but TPM has been well worth the extra £100 or so. Always need to reset it though each time tyres are pumped up or changed.
  9. Good thought Graham! And the adapter is a twist lock so easier to fit to the 13 pin socket!
  10. My last yeti had 13pin but as my trailers are both 7 pin had to use an adaptor. bit of a pain as everytime I came to connect the trailer I found I had left the adaptor in the boot, (Grr! especially when the boot is full) cant leave the adaptor in the socket as you can't push the socket up into the bumper as it sticks out too much. My current yeti just has 7 pin so no worries and I wont be towing any caravans.
  11. I ordered my spare from new for £75 extra I think and that included a useful false boot floor with extra storage. The spare is a 'slim' design and limited to 50 mph but feel much happier with that than a canister of squirty goo which, (call me old fashioned), just doesn't inspire confidence.
  12. Glad its not just me! What makes it worse is that SWMBO has a mini countryman cooper D 2WD with gorgeous classy brown leather seats with white piping. The seat belt clips all fit beautifully into little pockets so no creases, much to SWMBOs amusement. Ho Hum! PS: The countryman is a great car with a funky inertior but even SWMBO has to admit - the yeti is much nicer to drive!
  13. Not the greatest quality leather seats but adequate. I do find though that I have to be very careful dropping the rears seats down as there are no stowage pockets for the seat belt fixings and they seem to have a habit of making indentations in the leather even though I carefully move them out the way when folding, they seem to sneak back in between the seats, (Grrr!) Not a problem with my last yeti which had very durable cloth seats.
  14. Headlights are disappointingly boring looking but hey its got a "vest holder under the driver's seat". How I've longed for one of them! You wont believe how many vests I've lost in the Yeti!
  15. I'm such a goody two shoes I always check tyre pressures, oil and washer water before going on a long journey. Yesterday I forgot (Grr!) and got 5 miles down the road and the TPM light came on. Stopped the car and checked pressures. Hot day so both front and nearside rear at 34psi. offside rear was at 26psi due to a screw having found its way into the edge of the tread. Boot was full of stuff but I could access my 12v electric pump which I keep under the seat so pumped the tyre up to 34psi and limped back home, (lost another 5psi on the way back). non repairable so new tyre being fitted today, shame as Yeti has only done 6k from new. So if it wasn't for TPM could have been a lot further down the road before I had discovered the puncture. (Yeah I know if I had checked tyres first, wouldnt have needed the TPM but hey I'm a stupid bunny!)
  16. This tow bar confusion just goes on and on. The factory fit towbar at £400 is an absolute bargain. The dealer should have sent you a list of exactly what was ordered from the factory for your vehicle, it should be on that. If not, then they have cocked up (no suprise there) and should fit you a tow bar to the same spec when the car arrives.
  17. certainly my last yeti was the best depreciation on a car I have ever had. bought it cash at the end of 2009 with a big discount (and 15% vat, thank you Gordon Brown) for £18,500. received it in April 2010 sold it to a dealer for cash in January 2013 for £13,100 with 45k on the clock, (and a dent in the rear wing). 29% over 2.75 years. But if I had paid full price back in 2009 it would not look so good. Maybe thats why premium brands justify their lack of discounts because they hold the price better. there are too many variables for the average mortal to really comprehend what is a good deal!
  18. I do agree, the sweep of colour up the centre pillar is a distinctive look of the yeti, seems a shame to obliterate it with black.
  19. I had one, a dolomite sprint in red, it was a 4 valves per cylinder engines. It sounded sweet but was clearly lacking sophistication compared to Japanese offerings. Although the overdrive did work in 3rd and 4th gear. Lovely shape and interior though. My everlasting memory of it was being overtaken by one of my own rear alloy wheels whilst existing a roundabout on the A41! Cause much consternation to the folks at the bus top the wheel was bouncing towards! Alloy wheels in those days where just that with no metal sleeve on the bolt holes so each nut had to be tightened precisely with a torque wrench. A factor I was not made aware of at the time, still no harm done, wheel retrieved and refitted. Happy days!
  20. if mpg is of no concern I'd go for a lovely 1.8tsi 4x4 before they stop making them. if mpg is a concern then the 110 2wd is a cracker my chum has one and gets well over 50mpg all the time! PS: 50mpg! I wish! maybe I can get that lead weight surgically removed from my right foot on the NHS
  21. Totally agree £400 is an absolute snip compared to what some of us have paid post purchase and quite unusual for a car manufacturer to do such a deal. Either Skoda are being remarkably generous or someone in the back office made a cockup in the calculation and is heading for the sack!
  22. Looks like a westfalia to me alright! did you specify it as the £400 option when you ordered the car and was it fitted at the factory (and not by the dealer!) Cheers.
  23. What a fine choice of colour scheme. Great minds think alike. See my pics below. Cheers, Fuzzy
  24. Glad its sorted. Spot the ball ay! My dad used to let me put half the crosses on the picture while he did the rest. Never won anything though, I reckon they used to chuck the pictures and cash the postal orders!!
  25. Same here 40.6 mpg brim to brim average includes lots of motorway at 75-80mph.
