    New Yeti....

My first Yeti was a 1.2 on the Dunlop sp1 rubber, in soft snow it would move just on compact snow it would register 3 miles for every 2 miles due to wheel slip, much the same with slush over ice, the 1.2 is light on the front end, Boss fox fitted Goodyear vector 4 on his wifes yeti and found it a lot better in the snow. I changed to a 4x4 110se as I needed to go off road to my shoot, and also insisted on the tyres being changed by my dealer to the goodyears 4 season before handover, the first time I had to pay the difference between the cost of the tyres grand total of 75p , on the current Yeti they changed them to the goodyears and never mentioned the price difference. Also the goodyear all season tyres wear very well will last nearly double the mileage of the SP1, with regular swapping front to back, worth insisting on the change of tyre.
  3. I had one on my pre fl yeti and found the engine warmed up faster in the winter, and never had any issues with overheating, plenty of air flow through the top grill, I left mine on till well into the spring, also stops the stones hitting the air con condenser.
  4. SWMBO was still driving a mint condition black A35 when we got married in 1983, sold it 2 years later wish we had kept it.
  5. Start one end on the very end pulling it back towards the screen and move it up and down, it takes a good pull but it will come apart, I have had mine apart loads of times planning the job and then doing the upper then the lower grill, and have not broken anything off it, there is a lot of room in the back I have hands like shovels and had no problem. PS pull top cover with one hand, hold grill with the other.
  6. Model year, not year of reg. Model year starts middle of the year MY 15 starts june- july (can't remember which) 2014
  7. The said box was changed when the exhaust went from twin to single on the 1.2, something to do with the exhaust system pipe work I think.
  8. I have done a few miles on the motorway and running around town (in nearly 30c) and it has had no on effect the cooling at all, plus I have also done the lower grill as well now to protect the condenser. If anyone would like to know how I did it send me a PM and I will post it up, all done through the top cover no need to remove any part of the bumper. EDIT details of the lower grill mesh now posted above
  9. And if you were lucky it would start and the brakes would stop you -------- eventually

Also had the same thing as you on my new van lost one touch open and close done a reset and all working again. Modern gizmos don't you love them some times .
  12. You could try sending him a pm
  13. Try a call to SUK, as a knock was detected by the dealer under warranty and they said it was ok, obviously it wasn't. Go over their heads and stand firm putting the blame on the dealer.
  14. BOB were are you when we need you
  15. The 170 has a different turbo to the 140, but saying that way back (if I remember rightly) a 110 was tuned to produce around 180+,
  16. :wonder: Hope not, don't want any maintenance claims
  17. Not been washed for three weeks , Muscovado is great at hiding the dirt , as you should know. Plus my longer mud flaps keep it a lot cleaner.
  18. Well I go shooting for a few hours and come back to find that the Yeti has a friend in the woods a pre FL Yeti . Hope they behaved while we where away shooting . Not good photos, taken with my phone.
  19. The moving of the middle seat can be done while sitting in comfort on the outer seat
  20. Release the middle seat roll it into the boot and lift out from the rear hatch, then do the same for the outer seats, a lot easier on the back .
  21. Good end result, it pays to persevere, hope you can enjoy your yeti now
