For sale; 1x Fabia vRS 16" Spider alloy with tyre (Nexen 205/45ZR16) The wheel is in good condition, no dents or buckles, and runs true, but could do with a light refurb to make excellent (Please excuse the fact that the wheel is dirty in the images, but it is boracic outside and I really don't relish having blue fingers from the cold..!!!) The tyre has around 2mm of tread so the wheel / tyre would be ok as a spare. Please note, collection only from S42 6HG - Old Tupton, 5 miles south of Chesterfield and 5 miles from J29 of the M1. Im sure I have to put a price to comply with forum rules, so I'll put £50 and ask for offers (Obviously!) as I don't know what a single wheel/ tyre is worth. Please feel free to ring me on 07400 599499 or email on [email protected] Many thanks Andy

Nice sounding car, but, and it's only my personal opinion, that you have it too cheap.

Annoying rattle inside when driving
rtz62 replied to clgale88's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I had a very similar annoying rattle years ago, sorted by dumping my ex-wife-to-be on the hard shoulder of the M42. Sorted!!!!!! -
People have different perceives on cars having no service history. Mine is, unless it's very cheap, I'd avoid it. I'd suggest trying Skoda themselves to see if the car appears on their data base for servicing, recalls etc. However, I'd suggest it would need a full service, inc every filter and all fluids. Plus replacement of cambelt, tensioner, pulley and water pump etc. Think about this; if you did not like the car after a few months and wanted to sell it, how many people would ring up and actually have genuine interest in a car with no history whatsoever, other than previous mots (presumably); possibly the same number of callers as he has had now. There's plenty of cars out there, and plenty on here that will have been maintained properly by enthusiasts. It always amazes me how people can 'lose' history that can only add to the value of a car at resale time. Unless, of course, there's something to hide.... I'd avoid it, and keep an eye on the adverts on here for the right car.

Just thought I'd mention how pleased I am with the above company. SWMBO had her insurance come through (with one of the site sponsers) and it was £9 less than last year, despite us moving to a lower risk area and having 12 more months claim-free. I rang GreenLight, and they were exceptionally helpful. Told them her car has a JabbasSport remap, updated discs & pads, lowered suspension etc, and they came back with a quote £80 cheaper. Their reasoning was that they know about modified cars and are nearly all enthusiasts themselves, plus they acknowledged that most people would update brakes and suspension as a matter of course if they too are enthusiasts. I appreciate that we all have different things that may alter premiums, but I can only say I'm very happy with them.

Insurers that mirror NCB and insure modified cars?
rtz62 replied to NathanF1's topic in Insurance & Legal Issues
Yes, can concur with that, CKI mirrored the NBC that SWMBO had accrued with a motor trade policy, and gave a good quote, this commenced in October last year. -
Console bushes and the door leak issue are fairly easy (there are threads on here outlining how to,do both) SWMBO has had three vrs's, one with poly bushes all round, the other two without. Personally, I prefer the poly-bushes feel, it's slightly tauter and lasts forever (ish) I'd go for a remap from any of the main players, although read some of the comments on here, as some can have torque spikes which can reduce the life of your clutch /DMF I'd agree about a RARB, easy to fit yourself, around £185 iirc Cruise is about £95 for the kit, then you can fit it yourself but would need someone with VagCom to plug it in and activate it (again, check out threads using the search facility; there are members who will do this for you)

Alex, have you fitted them yet? If so, what do you think to them, as I've not got round to ordering them as yet. Cheeky I know, but any chance of posting a couple of images of them fitted mate? Cheers Andy -
Advertised on behalf of my friend; 4x Fabia alloy 5 spoke alloy wheels & tyres, Sizes 205/45 R16. In my opinion the alloy wheels are in excellent condition, there is no damage on the outer surfaces and only slight salt blistering on the inside edges, as seen in the pictures. All come with road legal tyres but two are getting near the point of replacing, the old rear ones have probably about 5-6mm tread left. Had just passed MOT before they were taken off and stored. I am asking £200 for the full set, not sold individually. the wheels / tyres may be viewed / collected in Wellingborough, Northants, or collected from Chesterfield (By arrangement only) Contact - Chris on 07877 782551

ACE Car Parts have them, on eBay (genuine DEPO) for £189.80 the pair with free p&p. Disappointed no-one has bothered updating as to the current state of play with the 'group discount'..... -

As a quick update, ACE Car Parts just rang m, the price is £94.90 each (free p&p) and are DEPO brand. So that's £189.80 for the pair, which is on par with the 'group discount' that has been previously available.... -
Just to throw in a curve ball, I've been offered a pair of Recaros from a Fiesta RS Turbo quite cheap; would they fit, and would a special subframe / mounting kit be required? Only ask as I've always found Recaros supremely comfortable, and the Fiesta is a similar size to the Fabia....
