  1. You'd best post a pic of the actual unit. If it's aftermarket then it will not be a Columbus, no matter what the garage tells you

Tayna also sell on eBay, same price but with free shipping. And a bit of Quidco too.

  4. The Gen 6 Haldex will be first fitted to the Mk8 Golf. It's not relevant to Yetis of any age.
  5. So stop me if I'm missing something here. They charged you £60 to tell you that the diff casing is cracked?
  6. Nothing I can help with in this thread. Your unit is an MIB unit, and this thread isn't for those units.
  7. A scan with VCDS perhaps?
  8. This looks very similar. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184035992419 Just make sure you choose the correct option on the drop down menu. The £12ish one doesn't look to be wifi app control, the "Non Touchscreen" option is the one I'm thinking of which is similar to mine.
  9. I did look a few weeks ago a d that particular one wasn't available any more. I'll look again.
  10. I looked at these a while ago after the wife left so I could turn the heating on remotely an hour before I came home. All the big name brands were overly expensive and complicated for what I actually needed, so I bought a simple wireless remote thermostat off Ebay, downloaded the free app, and now I have complete control wirelessly from my mobile. I can turn the heating on and off, set a manual temperature, or set it to auto program mode if I choose from anywhere I'm working. Total cost was a shade over £20 plus my labour for fitting.
  11. Sorry, I don't have anything much to do with the MIB units.
  12. Or any recommendations where to get it done? Obviously I've done Google so I'm looking for personal recommendations.
  13. I have a photo which has suffered damage in the frame and I'd like it restored & reprinted. I don't suppose anyone here offers such a service do they? Cheers.
  14. If you'd sent me your Columbus on Monday it'd be back with you today. If you're not gonna keep the non standard unit in then don't waste any time on it.
  15. Sounds like a failed GPS antenna. Simplest way to check/fix is a new puck style one from eBay and just find somewhere under the dash to fit it. Search eBay for GPS fakra, prices are less than a fiver from China and a bit more for a UK delivery.
  16. Possibly this... https://www.ebay.com/itm/231733477917
  17. Adapter for the aerial... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124250676871
  18. I think you might hit problems here with the CAN system. The Amundsen + unit being from a leter car works with CAN2.0 and I think your car uses CAN1.6, so effectively they don't talk to each other correctly. It won't turn on and off with the ignition, and the sat nav won't get instructuions from wheel speed sensors etc. to augment the gps system. Also, your Amundsen + might have Bluetooth built in so you may not need the parrot kit. Then again, it might have Bluetooth but may not work due to the CAN issue.
  19. I can supply screens for a lot of the new MIB stuff from stock, but the one you want has always been silly money.
  20. Yeah, you're right about the part number. But I can't find a TDO-WVGA0633F00045 for any less than the original, and I'm not sure of the fitment issues, other than on ebay germany where there's a seller who breaks old units and sells them in bits, saying they're "New - Other". 😉
  21. I think you're confusing the Amundsen & Columbus MIB1 & MIB2 units with your Amundsen 2 unit. The first two have a brain unit in the glove box and a loom which connects to the screen unit in the dash. On those the whole screen unit is separate and can be swapped with no issues. In your unit it's a one piece traditional style setup and the screen panel isn't available as a standalone part, unless sourced from a scrap unit. If I could get the screen at a reasonable cost then yes I'd fit it.
  22. A quick search leads me to a best price (to me) of £220, and the possibility of incurring customs and VAT on top of that. That's for a new screen to buy only, fitting would be extra. I'm still looking, but unfortunately these screens are hellish expensive for some reason.
  23. Ah, the screen in your unit is one which I've not found a cheap supplier for I'm afraid. But it's some time since I checked, I'll have another look this afternoon.
  24. Yep, that's correct.
