I didn't think mine was coming on when I first got the car but I then found it just wasn't very visible from more than say a foot away from the drivers window. It does look as though the LED is set quite low in the doorcard. Also are your indicators flashing when you lock the car? If not then the alarm isn't even being activated, which could be a faulty microswitch on one of the doors, boot or bonnet.

Isn't that sound when going into reverse the aircon re-circ flap? As for the other noise haven't a clue mate sorry.

Even if he drove it wouldn't reset without going through the proper procedure, it's a little different from say an abs light when a new sensor has been fitted and it needs to register the same as all other sensors. You need to go from lock to lock to recalibrate the steering angle sensor so the various control units know the position of the steering wheel/wheels (assuming alignment is good)

Yeah had to do that a couple of times on mates cars when retrofitting cruise control.

Slim chance but does the car use the dipped beam as DRLs? If so standard life bulbs don't last long at all, as I found with the mother in laws Polo 6r.

driving licence and the front page of the v5 i believe, just so theres id and proof of address, and also to prove the plate is for the car shown on the v5
