  1. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/skoda/yeti/59936/skoda-yeti-sochi Interestingly enough a 1.4 TSI DSG was also at the Moscow Motor Show, will it come to to UK? I guess the sochi is the russian equivilant of the Urban.

    Puncture!

I've done 26500 miles so far, and yes the nail was in the outer edge, I figured it would be a replacement job! My dad's been driving for over 40 years in various cars (currently has a Toyota avensis estate) and he literally drove all over the North east in his previous job with very few punctures. I may have to invest in a motion-detection camera as I'm pretty certain now the various screws and nails in the tyres are being deliberately placed there? We are on-street parking, and I literally have to check each tyre before I drive the car.

    Puncture!

Had all 4 tyres replaced about 4 weeks ago, being a lease tyres are included in the cost. Just as well as Kwik Fit decided to fit MICHELIN Primacy HP's at £235 a corner! A week later we drove to Devon and back and covered many miles seeing the many sites in this wonderful part of Britain. I checked the tyres when I got back, all was well, until 2 days later the drivers side rear tyre was flat one morning. Kwik fit found a nail on the shoulder of the tyre, and it had to be replaced! (again, luckily at no cost to us) I remember measuring the depth when they were first put on which was, and still is 7mm. Including the 1st set of Dunlops and the winter tyres I purchased thats's 7 punctures in the 27 months of ownership! Is it me or is that a bit exessive?
  4. Auto Express Driver Power 2013 is here... http://www.autoexpre...uk/driver-power Filled out mine. With only 10 months of our Yeti's lease left I'm still not sure what we will be doing come June? The only downside I can see with this car is the smallish boot, other than that it's been excellent.
  5. Kia also considered this with the Soulster back in 2009, not sure if will ever be produced though?

    yeti mpg

21 mile journey this morning along the A1 to Gibside 2 adults, 3 kids, 2 dogs - averaging 58mpg! Restricted to 50 ish mph for half the journey with faster motorways and country roads. This Saturday we set off on our 7 hour journey to Devon, with all the above plus a roof bag I just hope this nice weather holds out.
  7. I've had an SE (2WD) 110 TDI for 25 months, 26k miles, really ideal as a family car and the higher ground clearance comes in handy for driving up a farm track at least 4 times a week. Pros: (typical) Yesterday I did a 40 mile return trip up to to Northumberand with 2 adults, 2 kids and 2 large dogs, averaging 54mpg, and I don't hang around! I find the CR engine to be very smooth and never seems to run out of puff. Cons: (again this would only apply to only a few owners ) but the abilty to open rear most windows like a Berlingo or Viano so the dogs could keep cooler. Other than that, like others have mentioned, the driving position is fantastic and it's so easy to parallel park, great all round car!
  8. Yes! I have had this also over the last 3 months or so (110 TDI) It happens when in the first few minutes of driving, sometimes the car surges forward slightly but once the engine warms a little all is back to normal? All I can think of it may have something to do with the fuel system?
  9. http://www.autoexpre...ond_report.html A Greenline Yeti in the hands of an Autoexpress editor and family. Posted this to show some potential owners how big a Yeti boot is. Of course there is slightly more room without the raised floor (spare wheel). Gone are the days when we needed prams, now the boot is usually taken up by either the 2 dogs or horse riding helmets , body protectors etc, but always something
  10. Looks good Johann! Does the trailer effect your mpg economy much? I hope the weather holds out, was monsoon conditions here (sunderland way) yesterday with a few flooded roads.
  11. Very true Matthew. I've since drove back to Kwik Fit and had a word (I remained calm) with the assistant manager who didn't completely deny they were responsible, and will get the manager to phone me back. Needless to say I'm not holding my breath. It is annoying when you take such care, as I'm sure we all do, of our Skoda's. I'll keep you all informed of any outcome.
  12. I washed my Yeti just a few days ago, cleaning the alloys last, with no marks or imperfections. Needing 4 new tyres, I called my lease company who told me to use my nearest Kwik-Fit, who fitted 4 Michelin premacy tyres, (just over 900 quid!) thankfully this was at no cost to me. On the downside I have just noticed both front dolomites have 2-3 inch long scratches on them. Took me a while to check because it's pi$$ing it down here. Whats annoying is I have 4 Falken winter tyres swapped in November through to March done by an independant 1 man garage, and never had any problems. No-doubt Kwik-Fit will deny the damage and I will have to repair these myself when the cars returned to the Lease company next June.
  13. Hopefully I'll have my 4 Dunlops replaced next week as they are all at 3mm. Thank God the Lease company cover this cost otherwise I too would go for the Barums.
  14. autoebid.com have two 2.0 TDI CR [140] Elegance 4x4's in stock for £21,076.47, in Silver or Cappucino. Might be worth a look if your sick of waiting? (may not have any options you may require though).
  15. Was following a white 61 reg (TDi) though a Volvo was between us on the B6344 heading towards Rothbury, around 10a.m., anyone on here? Also a blue TSi was parked in Longhorseley. There are quite a few Yeti's in the north east now!
  16. Good review soupafly. I remember hearing something similar about thin body panels on the new Kia Sportage, which put me off this car big time. The engine (and emmisions) on the CX-5 does sound good but the rest of the car seems dubious

    yeti mpg

21,000 miles on the clock and averaging 53mpg overall. Even if you allow the optimistic maxidot, I usually average mid to late 50's on longer runs, which is more impressive when you take into account there is usually 2 adults 3 kids aged 9,12 and 14 and of course the (large) dogs in the boot. I have to say I hate sitting behind say a truck at 60mph, and do drive rather briskly where possible. In my experience Skoda's consumption figures are pretty accurate for the 110 TDi.
  19. Brillaint result! I voted too, with a true account of my experience so far ( nearly 2 years of ownership) I've sat in the Suberb last time I was at my local Skoda dealer, fantastic car too, although I feel discomfort in my back driving in any saloon or hatchback car, from an old back injury. Well done Skoda!
  20. Audi Q5 has the lowest rate of depreciation, coming in 2nd our very own Yeti! I'm suprised no BMW's made it into the top 10? Read more here... http://www.autoexpre...and_losers.html
  21. The Yeti Urban now mentioned on the Autoexpress site: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/280948/skoda_yeti_urban.html
  22. Car magazine covers this too. For the bigger SUV, one name being proposed is 'Snowman' Their joking right? http://www.carmagazi...new-Skoda-4x4s/
  23. Thanks TP and everyone else. Your explanations make this a lot more clearer . I'll have go at carefully cleaning it tomorrow, as I'm working this evening. The car's only been through a car wash a couple of time. I usually clean the car myself - bucket and sponge.
  24. Thanks Dave, I'll ask Silbury Skoda to take a look on Monday, but it doesn't seem like a big problem.
