  1. We just got back from a week in Winkleigh, Devon, overall managing to clock up 1300 miles! Beautiful weather down there, and the local people were so friendly, a couple of locals made inquires about the Yeti's delivery times etc! Spotted a dark blue one on the inside lane of the M5 (Hi! if it was any memeber of the forum). The cruise control came in handy with the crazy amount of speed camera's on the M5. We = me and the missus, 3 kids (1 being a teen)the 2 large huskies and the Thule roof bag, which was full to the brim along with every other available space in the Yeti! The most weight the car has had to carry so far, still managing an average of 35.9mpg doing 80ish on the motorways.Actually, the average struggled to 36.5mpg in a 50mph zone. )Aerodynamics of a brick? Once we had settled in Devon, back to a reasonable lower 50's with the roofbag off and just it's 7 occupants, driving around the (scary) hedgerow roads, which were barley wide enough for 1 car. I did have a stiff back after both the motorway journeys, which were nearly 7 hours long, but I don't blame the design of the seats as I have an old back injury. But very impressed by the smoothness of the CR engine, and despite having a 'rucksack' on it's back, and the added weight inside, the car handled very well!
  2. Welcome hatcho. You will love the 110 TDi Yeti, had mine since last June, no problems,(DPF or otherwise) really fun to drive.
  3. Strange my Yeti has no ESP but I feel the engine 'braking' a little, when going down hills, I imagine it's the ASR thinking I'm losing control?
  4. Good report hazy. I'm not to far off my 10k service, no doubt the service reminder light will come on when we drive to Devon next week. You must of had a great deal of snow judging from where you are. I bought some relatively cheap Falken Eurowinter tyres (225/50/17) which transformed my 2WD drive Yeti over the Winter, swapped them back to the Dunlops now.
  5. Thanks for the Link TP. Johaan's right we should of all done this poll ( yes i missed it too) Awesome result for Skoda and another incentive to get people considering an alternative to commonasmuck Qashqai's etc to consider something way more practical and fun!

    yeti mpg

Now the weather's warming so is my mpg. Typical morning journey, wife to work, 2 school runs, and took dogs for there walk. Trip counter reset before journey. Overall I'm pleased as it is close to Skoda's figures, just a shame about the rising cost of diesel :(
  7. Once the engine's warmed up properly the mpg does creep up, I seem to be stuck at 45mpg at the present time. 49.6 is fantastic! Octy how are you finding driving with the remap compared with before?
  8. I got these from Halfords My link Bought sets for front and 2 outer rear seats, and using an older cover for the centre rear (smaller) seat. They've been on since the day we got the car (June 2010). Front set fit very well, rear one's a bit looser, but had to be done for those pesky kids, and of course the huskies who shed their coats twice a year!
  9. Had one of these boot liners My link in since last June with the Yeti rubber mat on top. Works well at containing the mud and fur from the dogs. The bumper flap is invaluable to if your a dog owner, it's pretty much a perfect fit with the rear seats put all the way back
  10. Hi Greatdane, Do you really need a Yeti? Would a bridle and saddle not suffice? The rear seats were in place and pushed all the way the back in that photo with my dogs in boot, no spare wheel though, so a deeper boot. Height wise you should be ok. I know of a fella from London who takes his 2 great danes to the same place as me in the mornings. He has an old Suzuki Vitara, I think, short wheel base one anyhow. Either he's taken the rear seats out/folded them down, or the dogs got hungry? I would do as Mike suggested and take your dogs into a Skoda dealer to see if they fit in a Yeti! Maybe an old towel rested over he boot lip too? After all, a new car is a big expense.
  11. sorry guys fixed the link now!
  12. Someone had posted this about an article running in the autoexpress mag, but I cannot find it? Anyway here's the article from the AE site My link Yeti (Greenline) being the favourite
  13. HI Dawg, Sorry to hear about your engine failure :( On the positive side it never happened while you were actually driving, and the warranty will cover the cost of a new engine (if needed.) I had 2 turbo's failing within 6 months of each other on my last car (Mazda MPV diesel). Fortunately I had taken out a after market warranty, but the inconvenience and endless phone calls, and waiting 7 weeks for the car was a nightmare. That's why me and the missus decided leasing was the best option. Let us know how you get on?
  14. Ray, I too have had screws in all but 1 tyre in the last 3 months! Thankfully it doesn't cost me anything to have them plugged by Kwikfit (lease car). But now my wife and I suspect someone is leaving screws under the tyres as they are always in the centre deep groove of the tyre, and Kwikfit have given me the screws, guess what, there all exactly the same type! I'll be installing a IP camera to watch the car as it's on street parking here (after our Easter holiday).
  15. Hi Jakey, my Yeti is 2WD 110 diesel, I got stuck a few times with the summer tyres on, when we had all the snow. Changed to winter tyres (225/50/17) and the difference is like night and day! Best £400 I ever spent. Of course the 4x4 version with winter tyres would give you 'go any where' capabilities in the winter, but like you mentioned a greenline version on winter tyres would be an great option to consider too?
  16. Speaking as a parent with 3 daughters (8, 11 and 13), plus my 2 large dogs in the boot, could maybe sound like a squeeze? It's not, of course children come in all shapes and sizes, all mine are tall like their Mum, and the youngest uses are booster full size seat. I think the problem can be is that some of these children's booster seats can be quite wide and so take up much shoulder room in the back. There's no were near the interior space of my last car , a 7 seater Mazda MPV, but the Yeti can and does suit a family of 5. Although if you have very young kids who all need car seats you may have to re-think.
  17. Thanks for sharing your photos Johann. The new alloys looks great.
  18. Around my neck of the woods the Paramedic Rapid Response vehicles are mainly Ford Focus estates, though I can see the Yeti being very useful in rural area's.
  19. Dial for an ambulance in the Czech Republic, and one of these may turn up -
  20. Ok it's a big 'if', My link but I for one feel I am driving quite an economical car, and over the last few years pretty much all the mainstream motor manufactures are designing cars based around economy and low polution output.
  21. I have the 2.0 CR TDi SE 2WD, covered 7500 miles so far. I've found changing the summer tyres to winter's has made all the difference in the winter months in terms of grip, and pulling away. So food for thought if you are thinking of a 4x4 version. Averaging 46 - 47mpg, the missus driving she gets 49mpg-50. The average mpg rising even more in the warmer weather.
  22. Just noticed this posted on youtube today:
  23. Hi Sara, Good choice, Yeti SE 110 TDi - same car I have, but mines Aqua blue. I have a couple of huskies and they travel in the Yeti a lot. I don't know what kinda dogs you have? but I would advise one of these boot liners My link and also a Skoda Yeti rubber boot mat. The flap on the liner helps prevent the plastic boot lip being scratched by dog claws, and helps a lot with the wet and mud that dogs love to bring into a car. It's also a near perfect fit in the Yeti boot. Hope that's of some help
