No problem in my eyes putting up std. vs. mapped. Its purely looking at what is capable... Where would you stop on this point? Only compare cars of similar power, weight, drag coefficient etc...? I can always change all of them on my car etc etc !!! If you dont get on with this type of topic - may sound harsh but you know what to do... As for the holier than thou comment about racing/track etc. - part of me agrees but then most of me doesn't - do you know where this occured? No. Do you know the conditions it occurred? No. My 2p... Sit back...

At £3000 for 100 bhp it's not going to be overly common...

My previous car was a celtic tuned Fabia and My sister in law had a cooper S (06 plate). If I had say at starting speed - id pull a car length to 90 ish If my bro had say he pulled car length... Other than that, very little in it. Very well matched in that situation (mapped vs. std) but the mini was awesome going round stuff. The Fab wasnt...

Girls car or not he was clearly a t!t... One day he will grow up and realize that too... I'd happily have a TT. And im a real man

agreed, but would you rather have it or not?

Does fault code P0299 means the diverter valve is shot?
-
Slighty missing the point. Hopefully you will never have to use ESP. I never plan to. However in the event of something unforseen happening and the car is asked to do some physics-bending manoeuvres I'd be happy I ticked the '~£500 get-my-arse-out-of-this-code-brown-situation' options box. But then again as you said - each to their own.

breather/diverter valve?
Sonic_Vrs replied to Sonic_Vrs's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Oh well maybe ok then. Car is running fine jus thought I'd try out what I had heard in that other thread... Thanks -
After the seat belt it is the best safety feature in a car. Simples

Read on a different thread that if you (whilst idling) try to remove oil filler cap and it gets sucked back it could be a breather valve issue. Is this true? If so mines gone as when i try to remove oil cap it pulls air in and the engine 'chugs' till i replace. Ive also been told that on early petrol vrs's that the diverter valve may be weak- are these the same valves? Any help appreciated!

is there anything that happens along with poor performance? Noise/excessive smoke etc.?

Farewell to All vRS Models
Sonic_Vrs replied to gregoir's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Vrs is stated as 200PS once again?? -
all pics are now seeling for £40. Very funny in places... My fav - ghandis flip flop and shifty looking birds...
-
I presume you have the diesel VRS? It should pull from low down - max torque is from around that point (abit closer to 2k rpm) and you should feel a large surge of acceleration.
-
This is what we do. £75 into nominated bank account. Quickly adds up. Then either keep it or use to buy tyres etc.

Will I be dissapointed with 140bhp?
Sonic_Vrs replied to madfiddler's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
My bro has the 170CR DSG Elegance and it is genuinely spritley. Pre remap there wasnt much difference between it and my VRS at lowish speed(<30mph) -
Sort of reply I expected. Dont get too defensive... What you actually do doesnt (believe it or not) bother me. High horse or not (like that phrase do we?)

Really? Waste of time, a cliche and immature IMO. Haha I'm a Klingon... *laugh like Beavis* OMG... :(

Some people on here have serious problems if the filling in of an online form giving as much/little info as you like creates such thoughts and anger that they have to spend more time arguing about it than actually doing it in first place. This negativity is boring. I have filled out ours. Any info I didn't want to include- guess what - I didn't include! Also please shut up about free country. No such thing and those people who complain about it being free tend to jump on daily mail band wagon and blame societies problems on asylum seekers etc. Again a boring topic. If it's privacy you are harking on about - as said if you think the census info isn't available to the powers that be think again. If it's a time problem- log off Briskoda and get on with it

Sent my original map again. Callum
