  1. Yeah I thought that but look at the parking bay lines. Seem flat no? Ah well optical illusion πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  2. Looks great. I’m sure the front emblem fits the rear. Someone else bought 2 and they fit their business grey 280 with no problems.
  3. Why does the back end look really high? Is there more of a slope to that car park than the picture suggests?
  4. Thanks. Before dressing the tyres I give the wheels a spritz with quick detailer and wipe over with MF cloth πŸ‘πŸ»
  5. Cracking tyres is a QC/manufacturing issue from Bridgestone though. Can't exactly blame Skoda; the car could have easily had Pirelli P7's fitted at the factory πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  6. I've seen a few reports of S001's seemingly degrading/cracking prematurely. They look like tyres that are much older or have been exposed to some serious weathering. Seems like a good reason to buy yourself some Michelin PS4's, just in time for Summer πŸ˜ƒ.
  7. She’s not done many miles in 4 weeks so I fired her up and then a quick snow foam, wash and QD spritz. I’ll likely do the same in another 2 weeks πŸ˜žπŸ˜‚ Defo due a full detail.
  8. Keep the car unless you have settled => 50% of the total finance agreement, in that case you can apply for a voluntary termination on your PCP deal but.... You won’t be able to even get the ball rolling on this at the moment, never mind arranging inspections and collections etc so you will still have a car sitting on the drive regardless of what you end up doing. I would just keep the car and keep it maintained the best you can until restrictions are eased.
  9. Eibach pro kit and sway bars perhaps?? Tyre choice may help too. Something grippy with stiffer sidewalls.
  10. To add further confusion, they only advertise the emblem for the front but in fact the same one fits both front and rear πŸ˜ƒ
  11. Oh I’m special alright πŸ€ͺ I’ll take some measurements, sure. I just need to collect the R first. At least another 4 weeks 😞
  12. IMO I think it's the 'Steel Grey(F7A)' emblem that is required for what is referred to in the UK market as Meteor Grey. It's certainly the one I'd order for my own MG sportline. Different markets and even different Skoda models refer to the same colour name sometimes, even though it can be a completely different shade. It gets confusing!
  13. That will look nice. I had a quote to do the roof on my MG hatch and it was Β£270. The wrap would have been a perfect match to the gloss black trim, or so I was told You can get badges from Superskoda and the colour coded and black emblems look ace IMO
  14. Perhaps they can really show their gratitude to the NHS staff in 10-14 days, when they'll be seeing plenty of them face to face. Utter twunts and FFS I have no words for the paramedics and police who are stood seemingly ignoring it. Don't even get me started on the muppets who've made it a family affair. Might as well just get a snub nose .38 and have a game of Russian roulette around the dinner table. Same risk, same results and less drain on resources. If the government can't trust the public to maintain social distancing during a lockdown how can they even contemplate relaxing things and trusting the public will adopt common sense.
  15. Mini Ovens..........No, not ovens for Mini's Am I the only one who read the title and immediately thought "Four candles" ? 🀣
  16. On here. IIRC, one was one of the early 280 L&K drivers and long term Briskodians and one was the guy who tuned his 280 to 560BHP. In the latter case, it did work to some extent but not to the advertised numbers and performance wasn't consistent, e.g; there was random spikes/drops in power. Not wanting to totally put a downer on it, apologies if it's come across that way FWIW, I bought the pedal box I have now from a guy who had it fitted on a Golf R (via ebay) he was open and said the box had a replacement control unit sent to him as it didn't work from new but since then it was fine. I've had no issues with it in 2 years and the XLR I had previously was also fault free. I sold it to someone on here who also didn't have any issues. I would do the opposite. I've used pedal boxes on cars that have been mapped and/or had boxes fitted and in each case I've had the pedal box on first. IME it will almost feel like a remap; the significant change in throttle sensitivity gives the perception of extra BHP. So doing this would be a good indicator if the extra 'vroom' is due to the pedal box or the tuning box. I removed mine from my 280 a few weeks ago and the car felt like it was towing something, it instantly just felt sluggish.
  17. I always thought they were well regarded myself until I started looking at brake options and discovered for every person you find with something good to say about Red/Yellow stuff pads, there's someone else quick to complain about wear, noise, de-lamination, etc.
  18. It would depend on the dealership primarily and if they are 'bending rules' to have PDI's etc done under the guise of 'essential work and servicing'. I'm on the mailing list of a few Skoda/VW dealers and it would seem some have closed all together, whilst others are still open for servicing and essential maintenance. My local dealer actually emailed me last week to ask if I'd like to book my car in for service (which is due) I was meant to collect a car on the a'noon of the first day of lockdown and was called by the supplying dealer to say that because my car hadn't been through prep and final check, the collection was cancelled until post lockdown. If my car had been ready to collect then they would have delivered it and collected my current car at the same time. From what I understand a lot of dealers took a similar approach and were only delivering cars that were ready to go. The other consideration would be that the staff at Skoda in MK are likely running light at present and they may not be able to process finance/contract/admin etc, so could have requested dealers halt proceedings.
  19. I've got their pedal box. It's the 2nd one I've had and I can't fault them. Very good mod and makes a significant difference to the car. Now their tuning boxes on the other hand I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. They are supposed to have a lot of QC and poor customer service issues. Of all the tuning box threads I read it will be either a Race Chip or DTUK box that causes problems and both companies are very quick to start ignoring you, after the fact. There's at least two 280 users on here that had issues with Racechip tuning boxes. I've seen similar complaints on VW, Audi and BMW forums too. Personally I would have saved some cash and opted for a Bluespark box or gone for a JB1/4. Both have a much better rep and the Burger boxes are meant to be one of the best, with excellent customer support.
  20. It's very hit and miss with EBC; they seem to go through spells of producing pads which aren't up to their usual standard/reputation. I've just taken delivery of a set of Brembo rear discs, purchased through Autodoc, along with some Jurid rear pads. The reason I opted for the Brembo's over the other OE manufacturers is that the vented rim and bell housing are coated in a dark grey finish, which apparently resists the dreaded disc corrosion. Despite Pagid stating their discs have some 'anti corrosion' treatment they are terrible at resisting rust. The ones on my 280 started turning after the first time I washed the car and I don't use acidic products.
