  1. I swapped a Civic type R for my Yeti, everyone thought I was mad even the service manager at a Skoda dealer, but after 2 years with the Yeti I still love it more than I ever did my Honda.
  2. My Yeti Elegance is approaching her 3rd birthday so i thought it was time to give her a wash in preperation for her special birthday party down at Listers in Banbury. With wheels blisters in the finnish of her Annapurna alloys stand out like sore thumbs. One quick look round the car with a service manager and Listers have agreed to respray all the wheels under warranty and supply and fit 4 new Pirelli tyres for £100 each.
  3. I had an old model defy, you had to watch the phone as it is about to pair with the car, it will ask you if you want to authorise access to the phone book.
  4. I have a 2011 build Yeti with towbar coding. There is no button on my Bolero screen to disable the reversing beeps, I am thinking you perhaps had a software upgrade on your audio system at the same time your towbar was coded.

    Yeti towbars

I had a removable witter tow bar fitted at Rotherham tow bars around 2 years ago. I don't remember how much it cost but all the electrics have worked flawlessly including the bolero display and the bulb out warning ever since.
  6. Their Range Rovers are only for looking at and posing, if they want to do any work they have a Defender or a Yeti. That is why all the review is interested in is the Yetis off road abilities, not its looks or comfort.
  7. Yeti’s 4x4 mode impresses on and off road 28 June 2012 OUR first encounter with the Yeti left a great impression (FG, January 2010), despite our early test model missing a vital element of specification for some off-road adventure. This latest 4x4 Elegance version adds the functionality of Skoda’s 4x4 button. Cleverly, it delivers a range of intelligent off-road features, such as downhill assist, hill start, electronic differential lock, plus revised traction and ABS settings. Hitting the button when you venture off the beaten track allows the Yeti to really impress, even on its road-biased rubber. With uphill start assist, you can pin the throttle to the floor and revs remain restricted to 2,500rpm, safeguarding driveline components, while downhill assist maintains a stable speed during descents on slippery surfaces. Downhill assist operates in the first three gears, reverse and most impressively, in neutral. You do not need to press the accelerator or brake pedal, as the electronics take care of speed control, according to the angle of descent. Electronic diff lock An electronic diff lock maintains permanent traction and can work diagonally across the axles, while off-road traction control settings built into the 4x4 mode allows a higher level of wheel slip before electronic intervention – just enough to get the wheels spinning and the Yeti moving across difficult surfaces. With 180mm of ground clearance, a 19-degree approach angle and a 26-degree departure angle, you will be surprised at just how capable the Yeti is. A recent cross-continent trip to Paris for a machinery event saw our 140TDi Yeti eat up the miles with ease, delivering mpg in the mid-to-high 40s. It can seat five adults and the Vario-Flex seating means any of the three rear seats can be folded or tipped up. If you crave load space, the rear seats can be removed completely. There is a 2,000kg towing capacity too. What is not to like about the beast? Need to know Skoda Yeti Elegance 2.0 TDi 4x4 Price: £22,955 (£25,005 as tested) Engine: 1,968cc, four-cylinder turbo, 140hp @ 4,200rpm, 320Nm @ 1,750-2,500rpm Transmission: Six-speed DSG dual-clutch, front-wheel drive Performance: 9.9 sec 0-62mph, 118 mph, 47.1 mpg combined, 157g/km Towing capacity: 2,000kg Skoda Yeti 29 May 2009
  8. The launch of iOS 6 will bring greater automobile integration to the iPhone with "Eyes Free," a new feature that will allow a car to bring up Siri voice control. The Eyes Free component of iOS 6 was unveiled by Scott Forstall, Apple's senior vice president of iOS Software, at Monday's Worldwide Developers Conference keynote. "You've heard of hands free before," Forstall said. "Hands free allows you to keep your ands on the steering wheel while you use your phone. "Well, we want to integrate Siri even better with the car. And so we're working with a number of car manufacturers to enable you to use a button right on the steering wheel to bring up Siri." With Hands Free, the iPhone screen stays off, so it will not distract the driver. Since Siri talks back to a user out loud, drivers can control many functions on their iPhone with just the press of a button and the use of their voice, allowing them to keep their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road. Forstall revealed that a number of manufacturers have committed to Eyes Free Siri integration in the next 12 months. The full list of auto makers shown by Apple at Monday's keynote is: BMW General Motors Mercedes-Benz Land Rover Jaguar Audi Toyota Chrysler Honda Apple's official product page for Siri functions in iOS 6 notes that Eyes Free will allow users to call people, select and play music, hear and compose text messages, use Maps and get directions, read notifications, find calendar information, add reminders and more. Even before iOS 6 and Eyes Free were announced, some auto makers were working to offer Siri integration with their vehicles. For example, in February Mercedes-Benz announced that its in-house "Digital DriveStyle App" would make it the first automative manufacturer to offer built-in Siri support.
  9. I have my 4s attached to my dashboard using a brodit clip as I use it with the tomtom app. Pressing the Siri button on the iPhone whilst connected uses the inbuilt car system automatically. I don't think it will be long after ios6 comes out that we will be able to buy a stand alone Siri button that will activate the iPhone whilst it is still in your pocket.
  10. I have had several apple devices including an iPhone 4s, when they are first set up new it is worth giving them a few off, on power cycles as they seem to get a bit confused for a few days untill they settle down. My 4s works well with my 2010 yeti apart from synchronising the call lists which it won't do.
  11. I have just completed it with the iPad.
  12. Sorry i will have to have another look at how to post pictures.
  13. It is a yeti issue. Yeti's built before June 2010 did not have the hardware installed to allow Bluetooth audio streaming.
  14. So my recommendation to the OP would be to stop spending your own time and money trying to fix the problem yourself, and get SUK to step up and fix it for you via your local Skoda dealer. I agree with above posters. I took my Yeti for its first service and pointed out the stone chips. SUK are doing the work under warranty and replacing the Skoda badges that are showing signs of the white worm that has been discussed before on this forum.
  15. My Yeti has just had it's first service on an annual regime at Bickertons in Sheffield. They charged me £110 for the privilege. D.M Keith at Huddersfield wanted £183, The service manager there did not know what size engine was in the 170.
  16. I ignored all the DPF scare stories when buying my yeti as I wanted the ability to occasionally tow a trailer. My regular commute is only 4.5 miles each way. when I arrive at work my engine is not up to the proper operating temperature. After 9 months of ownership and 5000 miles I can report that my DPF light has not been on once. During the winter months I would here the fans on doing a regen perhaps once a fortnight but I have never heard it during the warmer months. If in the future my DPF does become a problem I will take it to Shark for surgery.
  17. I now feel rather stupid I had read about the button to turn off the interior alarm button, spent ages opening every door looking and feeling every A, B, and C pillar on the car eventually coming to the conclusion that my build year 11 car did not have the button to turn off the interior monitoring. After reading where it is I have just gone to the car to have another look for the said button, how on earth have I missed that glowing red beacon for the last seven months? :S :S
  18. I have had 13 pin electrics on mine, into that I plugged a Thule 13 to 7 pin adapter, and into that my thule bike rack. I was very impressed how everything worked trailer display, fog light off ect, but what I found most amazing was that the car knew there was an indicator bulb out on my light bar, and informed me in the dash board. I don't think that your software update has been done.
  19. I have just had a witter towbar fitted at an independent tow bar specialist garage. yesterday I attached my bike carrier, while I was admiring it on the back of my yeti I noticed the lights randomly coming on for a few seconds then going off again. will need to have another look to try and find out what was going on.
  20. yes the notification area, it only seems to be there for a few seconds whilst connecting.
  21. Thanks for your reply but I have now solved the problem. There is a drop down box at the top of the screen on the phone that comes up with the question "do you want to share your contacts" It really is that simple. Motorola Defy can now be added to the list of compatable phones.
  22. I recently thought it was time I got my mobile phone up to date, not being rich enough to buy an iPhone I did a bit of research and got myself a motorola defy which runs Android 2.1 software. The phone connects to the Yeti allows calls to be made and received and even allows me to stream music with the Bluetooth, but it will not allow synchronising of the contacts or call lists. hopefully there is a simple setting that I have missed, please can anyone help.
  23. Thanks for that, just booked mine in for a detachable flange neck with 13 pin electrics. Saved £98 on list price.
  24. Bluetooth audio streaming is only posable with year11 model cars which were built after 25 may 2010, when they started fitting gsm2 Bluetooth kit. Cars built before this have the option on the belaro but it it not wired up.
