  1. I agree ...... I`m always thinking I have a puncture when looking at them ......... running 36f 33r also seems to handle better
  2. I used to sell facom tools about 6 years ago .......... and all though my firm have no connection with facom ...... they still replace broken ratchets FOC I just post them off to them and a new one comes back ..... in fact the last one I sent back went missing .... but they still replaced it
  3. for those who missed the 2 hours of rallying on itv4 last night ........ there is a repeat of the Argentina rally at 5PM
  4. Mine is a March 2005 model and the mileage figures on the gauges are nothing like the true figures ...... I always brim mine and use the expansion tank............
  5. [quote The speedo is accurate thought, and if accelerating up to full speed the speedo needle slows down after it passes 90mph, which might give the impression your not going as fast as you really are. I dont think you will find it is as accurate as you think check it out against a talex or sat nav ............ the speedo overreads which is probably a good thing .......... speedo 30mph = 27mph 60mph = 56mph 90mph = 84mph if you do a search this has been discussed many times
  6. YOU just wanner hope you dont need to ring the helpline indeed to goodness !!!!!!!!!!!! have to say I have been on bt broadband for a couple of years now and its pretty good .... using the original install so never got my browser hijacked...........

  9. WELL I must add my twopennyworth to this thread I have also been driving for 45 years ( 61 next month ):( and tempting fate a clean licence also for 45yrs during my driving career I have taken part as a driver in rallies throughout the 70s 80s and currently drive a van doing about 600 miles a week ...... so I think I can say I know how to handle a car under all conditions ... until about 3 months ago had never driven a vehicle with CC ...... but thanks to Stu I had one fitted to my vrs and have found it to be the most usefull addition to my car ....... I wish I could have one on my van ......... I use the CC in all sorts of circumstances .. I dont do much motorway driving ...... but use it on 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 mph speed limits except when I wish to drive in a Brisk manner I dont think I would buy a car without CC now
  10. when some thieving toe rag removed my tailgate badge a few weeks ago they left half the gasket stuck on .... I used brake cleaner ( not brake fluid ) which softened the glue and removed all the residue and left the paintwork unmarked except where they levered the badge off and damaged the paintwork I find brake cleaner very usefull for removing sticky labels of most things it evaporates very qickly
  11. Dont rely on the computer read outs ........ they arent very accurate :thumbdwn: the fuel gauge usully drops pretty quick once you get below halfway .......... I always fill up when gong goes and the refill symbol comes up

  14. I used to back in the late 60`s through the 70`s and early 80`s they used to start around 11pm and finish about 5am route was about 200 to 250miles and quite often 100 to 150 cars taking part..... it was like flat out driving for most of the time all on public roads with a few farm tracks added for slowing you down.... timing was done by Targa Timing some sections timed to the second called selectives ( or if you like special stages ) Motoring news used to run a championship every year with events all round the country ..... this was before the 70mph speed limit came into force ..... although they did continue after that ....they used to attract the top names in those days ....... cars included Porche 911`s lotus cortinas.. twincam escorts... mexico`s ....cooper S even JP nicholas the ferrari boss man came over in a Renault Alpine and took part in our local event the TAUNTON Annual Rally as a shakedown for the RAC rally .......... those were the days my friends ( sounds like a song ) I drove a Mini Cooper S with a works straightcut gearbox engine tuned to 1293cc spectators used to go out all night to watch and listen to the cars ..you could hear a tuned motor racing through lanes 5miles away well I could go on for hours but you have probably gone to another post by now sorry if this is an old thread but only just found it and it started me of remembering my rally days / nights
  15. i have been moaning about the brakes on the vRS Fabia since I owned the car ........ but have to admit they seemed to have improved recently 11500 mile now .... maybe I am getting used to them .... but I still think they do not match the overall performance of the car in general ...... I hope the 2008 vrs is sorted in the brake department ..... cos if it looks any thing like the pictures especially the colour of blue with white roof and white wheels

I only make maybe 5 or 6 calls a week . but do send / pass text messages ( especially jokes ) maybe about 20 a week ........ the phone must be a Nokia with bluetooth ( cos I just bought a Pama handsfree bluetooth (£60 ) only last week ( very nice kit clips on the sunvisor ) I would like it to have a camera as well ........ just been looking around and getting more confused :( is anyone using a pay as you go with Tesco ??? it looks a reasonable deal with half price calls / texts to 3 friends ... but was wondering what the coverage is like especially in zummerset oo aahhh thanks for any info
