calling Diesel VRS owners - MPG in traffic ?
PJW -VRS replied to sko-with-go's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Realistically what 'real world' mpg could I expect from the Diesel VRS in heavy stop start traffic ? Cheers guys well my daily journey to work is 2.2 miles and 2.2 miles home both in heavy stop start traffic ....weekends I usually give it blast for about 20 miles to clear the system I fill the tank once a month which is average 330 miles over 20 months I have average 37mpg next month I will be making a trip to Powys about 380 mile round trip...... hopefully if I can control my right foot .... I will do it on 1 tank full -

PJW -VRS replied to handyjazz's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
just a little tip ref air con try and run it for at least 10 minutes a week .......... otherwise you will get nasty smells from the air vents air con needs to be used regulary to keep the fluid moving around -

The one at henlade was torched as well ........ but it was replaced quickly:( my daily route in my car is 8am greenway rd to priorswood ind est rest of the day I`m in my peug van ...... the van has a briskoda sticker on the back door and the front sunvisor ....... the car has briskoda on windscreen both rear door windows and on the tailgate glass with a private plate I see loads of skodas during the day ... but not seen one with a Briskoda sticker yet its funny but since I became a skoda owner 18 months ago .... its seem like every tenth car is a skoda .......... ( did`nt notice them before ) -

Hi Matt The missing camera you refer to in East Lyng was set fire to a couple of months ago and has`nt been replaced yet .... I thought that was rather brave of someone due to the fact it is right outside of some bungalows.... I have`nt been through Othery with my Talex so not sure if it registers with mine ...... with regard to East Lyng ........ sometimes there is a plod with a gun opposite the garage ........... I believe he lives in one of the houses ....... so working from home so to speak -
Bet your popular with the car behind you in the queue:D

if you look down the inside of the filler neck ( on the right ) you will see a shiney nipple sticking out ........ this is spring loaded and if when you have filled the tank to the cut out ...... you can press the nipple in and release air from the expansion .. this then allows more fuel into the tank ( if you listen you should be able to hear the air escaping ) do this several times during the fill up and you should get at least another 3 to 5 litres in the tank ... I use this method every time I fill up.. BEWARE I would not recommend this for Petrol cars unless you are going straight out on a journey ..... cos petrol expands in warm weather but does not seem to affect diesel ....... Due to my short traffic laden journey to work ..... I am only getting about 35mpg :thumbdwn: :thumbdwn: :thumbdwn: dont take any notice of the computer readings . they are only inacurate guidelines for the true mpg ..... you need to brim the tank and take the mileage then brim again HAPPY MOTORING

Uptil about 2 years ago Asda was the choice for about 12 yrs...... the staff were always friendly & helpful ....... BUT the carpark was karp ...... the cars parked so that morons could try and squeeze between with trollies ..... went there one week and no milk or bread:thumbdwn: it also seemed to be the meeting place for family reunions .... all gathered together blockin the aisles ...... and then they introduced kids shopping trollies  ......... so now use Morrisons ....... its on the way home for me ........ but they are not much better. unhelpfull shelf staff ..... miserable checkout staff ...... short useby dates.. but not so many customers so can get round quicker
