Mine does it exactly the same. Just don't have it on phone when you start off. I called my local chinese the other morning at 6 and couldn't stop it dialing until I used the steering wheel control. I bought my car in 2016 as nearly new and it's pretty much done it all the time in the cold weather. It's fine come spring onward.

The kamiq has issues. My neighbor has or had a 2020 model which he had loads of issues with lane assist yanking the wheel out of his hands. It's been back twice and he has now got rid.

I don't understand that when the Mx5s has an AGM setting if it damages the battery..

Ctek MXS5 is what I have and use. I bought a cigar adaptor so I can plug it into the boot cigar plug and run the lead into my garage with everything locked and secure and charge overnight. Works a treat... They work fine with all types of battery and worth their weight in gold. I don't do many miles so top up once every couple of weeks.

To be fair I have had the same broom for the last 20 years. Only 10 new heads and 3 handles. You go ahead and use that sump plug again and again.

It's an easy job. I hadn't done pads since my mk1 vrs and this was lots easier. Half hour all in. Mines a 2016 and I think there was 2 sizes bigger was for the earlier model. I'll try and find the size. Yeah two sizes, 340mm and 312mm.

Remove the jacket from the old battery it pulls off. Undo the bolt at the front of the battery which has a clamp holding the battery in. Undo 2 10mm clamps positive and negative remove battery. Reversal is the harder bit trying to get the battery clamp in position but all in all 15 minutes.

I have vcds which you will need or similar app.

I replaced mine yesterday and the difference is like night and day. I fitted a bosch S5 A08 which turns the engine over far quicker than the varta battery. I got mine from Amazon for £125 quid and arrived in 2 days. You do have to code it but the selection for bosch battery wasn't a choice so mine is left as varta. Serial number for my old battery was just lots of ones 111111111. I changed it to reflect the bosch battery and changed the Ah to 70ah. It brought up all sorts of errors when connected for 30 seconds even the reverse camera not working then all back to normal. Mines a 2016 vrs diesel BTW.

Mines always done that on a 2016 plate. I put it down to moisture as it's fine when the car gets warmer. Throws a bit of a wobler for a few minutes then settles.
