  1. Dent Wizards. National coverage, I believe. They will come to you, wherever you say. Had a couple of scrapes sorted on Mrs Torque's Toymota.....cannot see where they were. Brilliant.
  2. Have to say that my rear wiper blade sounds like it is trying to rip the glass out. It's the original blade so probably not the best of quality...done it since day one. Coming up for two years so due a change to Bosch or similar. I never let blades go longer than 2 years as I see them as a prime safety item, and we all have our foibles.
  3. Briskoda is one of the best car forums. Really helpful people and a refreshing absence of 10 year-olds bragging about their 250bhp 1.4 diesel. Welcome. Great choice of car. Whilst I didn't, initially, like the Quartz Grey, it is growing on me. This from an old bloke with probably the rarest colour, (maybe for a reason I'll understand at change time), Topaz Brown.
  4. It's not a problem. Any aircon system will need to dump condensate from time to time. Thos systems in cars are no different.
  5. The supposed correct hold on your steering whell is to have your hands at the "10 to 2" position, (think of a clock face). The 'bumps' are hand/thumb holds. However, 10 to 2 positioning is under lots of discussion, with some suggesting "Quarter to Three" is better.
  6. Apologies for my misunderstanding. Skoda do seem to be being kept as the poor relation in this market sector. Shame, but suppose someone must know what their strategy is. However, judging by recent events in politics, that may not be the case.
  7. Thanks guys, I'll see what nice Mr Skoda has to say but if it's merely surface I'm tempted to just keep an eye on it and then get it refurbished before we part company.
  8. "......astronomically gargantuan demand........"? Something of an enormously overstated prospect, I think. The Fabia vRS has always been a niche market car...in sales numbers. Not everyone shares your enthusiasm, I'm afraid. Lovely idea but any semblance of Skoda autonomy seems to have gone out the Boardroom window some time ago. Maybe you'll have to save up for a perky Audi A1...that comes as a Quattro version, I think. At a price, of course.
  9. What's the difference between a Monte headlight and, say, an SE L headlight?
  10. So, apart from the alloy wheel centre caps delaminating, I have just noticed that the paint on one spoke of the o/s/r alloy wheel is starting to bubble. Anyone else had this problem? Fabia 3, SE L, Reg Sept '15, 14k miles, standard 16" silver alloys.
  11. So...technology that we work for, rather than technology that works for us. System obviously set-up by someone who thinks Windows is 'proper computing'.
  12. Engine oil is pretty much the cheapest component, in terms of value, that you will ever buy. People spend ££££s on cosmetic stuff and then skimp on a really vital bit. Buy the correct spec oil from a known source...not off eBay, or in the pub car park...and relax. Yes, Dealers make a good mark-up on lubes; in fact some dealers seem to think they are supplying liquid gold, (not usually Skoda dealers, but the Bavarians can be crazy). Any dealer willing to use customer-supplied oil should be noting the fact on service sheets/invoices. If they won't use it, then you have a decision to make. Neither you, nor the dealer can determine oil quality, (or, heaven help us, "thickness"), by rubbing oil between finger and thumb. Can not be done. And I say this after 30+ years in the oil industry, half in Lubricants, with the market leader. Buying 'Long Life' oil for VAG cars is fine...you don't have to stick to long drain periods if your operating parameters don't support it. Minor rant over.
  13. Just pick whichever you like best. There will be zero difference between them...purely aesthetic.
  14. My wife recently bought a Toyota Yaris Hybrid. Lovely device, but not a great fan of CVT gearboxes. However, a reversing camera is a standard fit, on all trim levels, I think. Great piece of kit and full colour display. Tempting to ask local Skoda dealer if retro-fit to the Fabia is feasible, and at what cost? the Yaris is a really nice car and when she plugged in her iPod it just played with full functionality. My Fabia just says "Device not recognised" or somesuch claptrap, when I connect any iPod....and there doesn't seem to be a fix, either. It's the little things that brass you off.
  15. Great choice. I have a Fabia in Topaz Brown. Is your colour very different to that? Such a stand-out colour compared to the myriad shades of grey, pretending to be Silver, or White, or Black. Well done sir.
  16. Very typically French political car. Designed to head to the Left at every opportunity.
  17. I think it's an attempt to avoid the potholes on UK roads, and Lincolnshire roads in particular. However, it's not working as most people will drive with the centre white line as the centre of their trajectory....whenever possible...which can lead to interesting situations and making new friends. Thankfully the Yellowbellys are a civilised group of people, with some exceptions, and generally return to their correct track before becoming intimate. Other than that...not an earthly, but fascinated.
  18. Why not without paddles when you can manually shift with the gear selector, just by moving it to the left in D/S and then jogging it forwards or backwards, by a very small amount? Just interested.
  19. Thanks Malcster. This is above and beyond. Have a great weekend.
  20. H4tter, how did you get your music, incl artwork etc, onto the SD card? I have another thread asking this question and on Malcster is offering ay help...gentleman that he is.
  21. Have found the "Wrapped" version of Mp3tag, but no idea what is does, or how. Where is the guide you mention? Please.
  22. Sept 2015 Reg Fabia 3 SE L TSI. Right I have read lots of posts re transferring music to SD card for the Bolero. Lots of posts seem to be around Windows kit. I have an iMac with an SD card slot. In simple step-by-step instructions, how do I transfer my iTunes library onto an SD card so that it retains Playlist and album artwork? I can copy and paste music, (to SD or USB), but then just have one line track titles in alphabetic order, no playlists, no artwork. Any help greatly appreciated. Don't mind buying software if needed. I addition, I also have masses of music on an iPod Classic. Tried plugging that into the car USB and got the message "Device not supported". An iPod Mini gave same result. Is it just too old, or.....? One last.........how do I overcome the DRM problem of such tracks not playing from SD, or USB Annoyingly, my wife has just bought a Toyota Yaris Hybrid. Plugged her iPod Mini into the USB and it came straight to life with all mod cons. Have at it, Chaps and Chapesses.
