  1. Presume BMW register these cars in Hull, as Grimsby is south of the Humber and not in Yorkshire. Thought they would be F reg, for Lincolnshire.
  2. Been looking at this for months...think you might just have persuaded me. Easy to fit? Any tips or 'beware ofs..'?
  3. I also have a new Tom Tom but cannot see how it would "talk" to the infotainment system. I have mine mounted, (when needed), on a Brodit clip over the centre vents on the dashboard....no sticky rings on the screen. When not in use it lives in the cubby hole under the driver's seat. Would be interested to hear if it will connect to the Bolero...but.
  4. Had a wander through the Menu to-day....no sign of an option to disable or, therefore, enable.
  5. In the interests of accuracy, my Hatch was UK stock, (not even at dealer)...unprepped/un-registered so I doubt it had been played with by anyone. I'll have a look in the menu tomorrow, and revert.
  6. Don't understand the first part of your post, I'm afraid. My Sept '15 SE L Hatch locks all doors just after moving off....came from the factory with this function.
  7. On my 2015 SE L neither of the fronts is one-touch and the rears are manual. To be honest, it's not someting I care about as the windows are very rarely open.
  8. My Fabia first service was £89 incl wash/valet and video of under-car Health & Safety check...which was on my iPad whilst I was having my second cup of coffee in the waiting area.
  9. Glad you got it resolved...and have done your bit to educate a dealer. As for colours, have a look at Topaz Brown. It's quite different and I love my SE L hatch in the colour. Not a great many about but Bentley use a version of it lf you like bragging rights. :-)
  10. I suspect some dealers believe that the seating in the hatch and estate is identical. That would be a fair, but erronoeous supposition. Enjoy Thursday.
  11. Not had the problem but the fix is easy. Back to dealer.....it's under warranty. Simple.
  12. You're not alone, I also purchased the Extended Warranty, last September....5 years/100k miles. I have a Dealer receipt for the payment but no formal paperwork....but have not checked in the car wallet. However, recently had the first service and the paperwork clearly shows the 5 years/100k miles/2020 end date for the warranty, so it is definitely on the system. Ask your dealer to check the system...it should be on there...the only place it needs to be....and get a print of it for your peace of mind. Take no prisoners. If your dealer won't play......ask another one to look at the system.
  13. We don't have a hard right government yet, IMO, but without a credible opposition it is a possibility...though maybe not that strong a one. However, that probably depends upon your definition of 'hard right'.
  14. Would be tempting to give them an electronickery fix that burns out the main ECU. However, having neither the means nor the understanding, my response would be silence. Would hope such a question would get a 'Final Warning' for the person asking, or even a ban.
  15. It might not actually be the correct car. PDI might raise some eyebrows. Sincerely hope not.
  16. As one gets older, one realises that vanishingly few people actually notice, or care, what size wheels your car has....and lots of those that do can be dismissed as childish. Just a view from the pensionable end of the spectrum. Sorry, demographic.
  17. Go for Webasto. I don't think a company that has routinely fitted sunroofs to the likes of Aston Martins, Bentleys etc will actually wreck a Skoda.
  18. Presume your choice of spec meets a car on UK stock, hence short delivery. Mine was the same....although going for Topaz Brown was a bit of a surprise to everyone, me included, as I left home with the intention of buying Corrida Red and had never seen one in TB, (neither had any of the dealer staff). Still very rare, it seems. Enjoy your new baby.
  19. Been driving Autos for a few years, (now DSG), so only had two pedals to play with. On the old Volvo the system was very good. Approaching a roundabout on an NSL dual carriageway, just flick the "Cancel" switch, drive around the roundabout and flick the "Reset" switch and let the car build it's own way back up to speed. Not tried it with the DSG yet, but it's only been a year so early days. Note to self...get a grip and try it.
  20. I think it is asking a huge amount of the relatively small aircon system in a Fabia to drop 12degrees...and hold it...in full-on Australian sun. The amount of solar gain must, surely, outgun the aircon's capabilities. My old Volvo would probably cope with it, but had a) much better thermal insulation...for Nordic winters, and a hefty diesel engine driving a fairly big lump of a compressor and heat exchanger. Physics is awful hard to beat.
  21. You are, of course, correct. Uprated 2.0 TFSI engines do not figure in my logbook. As it now becomes plain that this device is aimed at uprated clutches, I withdraw my adverse comments...having no real experience on which to base those comments. Driven some fairly hairy stuff....how about a Jaguar 3.4 engined Anglia? Wasn't that quick but didn't like corners...or not at anything over 20mph, at least, and as it was a track car that was something of a drawback. Seem to recall the whole shooting match cost us less than £100. Many many years ago. Ended its days cosying up to some Armco one wet day.
  22. Can't speak for current Castrol oils and do not know who currently blends the Quantum range, but do know that some years ago, Quantum oils were top notch...as good as the best. Do you know who produces them, or do you have good reason to dislike them? Genuinely inyerested.
  23. Not even slightly convinced by this. After close to 1 million miles driving manual cars...in all environments...and always dipping the clutch to start the engine, I have never suffered any of the supposed problems. Device inventor even says that 99% of stock vehicles are not affected. Sales of 95 units, apparently across the globe would not be my definition of success. Presumably this device also invalidates warranty. Many many years ago a professional engineer warned me that most release bearing problems were caused by sloppy drivers who constantly rest their left foot on the clutch pedal. I'll stick to my DSG, thank you.
