  1. Stop messing with modifying units from other cars and buy the ones designed for the fabia!
  2. I used heat shrink on mine, got it from ebay. Make sure you have access to a heat gun as using the hair dryer won't work as it doesn't get hot enough
  3. 2 pages of debate in how to tighten wheel bolts with a mechanic who started the thread! Clean bolts and threads, tighten in opposites (like a cross pattern) to proper torque and re check 100 miles later as is suggested above (much later than I would expect on this thread!)
  4. I put heat shrink on mine. Been the best thing I've done to cure the rubbish leaky joints. Cheap enough too tbh
  5. my mk3 ibiza cupra did this too before I got the fabia, so it's obviously a VAG thing!

  7. likely you'll struggle to get one that doesn't put pressure on the roof spoiler, so you'll need to look for one where the bikes mount high. Also you'll probably need a light/numberplate board because of the position of the plate on the car. I use roof bars as it's much easier (I also don't like the idea of all that weight on the rear screen). decent bars come off in no time at all too.
  8. what are you after? another turbo? if so try darkside developments as they do 2nd hand parts too
  9. You don't need to self tap them. I the pipes are on good condition as well as the clips and heat shrunk, they won't pop off.....mine don't on a remap anyway
  10. I've put heatshrink around all my pipe joints now....worked like a charm
  11. Adhesive number plate above the fog stuck to the bumper?
  12. anybody on here who has done this mod got their pipe that goes into the EGR in good condition and for sale? one of the lugs on mine is about to give up and my bottom hose is pretty new, so just want to fix it cheaply for now
  13. Car up in air, you should be able to rock the engine back and forth with your hand, if it's quite a bit, it's deffo that. However to say how much movement is too much is difficult via verbal instruction or text as it's more something done as a visual and by feel. If it's really bad, you will see signs of perishing
  14. This leads me back to thinking Dogbone mount fist then. It will start knocking the way you are describing much earlier than it would under acceleration as the engine is being loaded and 'pushed' during this part. when you lift off it's like it's being let go and all the weight of the engine drops at once.
  15. i'd be looking at caliper carrier bolts, then caliper bolts, ball joints, arb, drop links first then.
