If the vehicle being used by the system is narrower than the Superb, then you will end up with the edge of the car protruding and possibly hitting a kerb, especially if the narrower vehicle is tight to the kerb.

I think you will find the brochure will cover itself by saying specification is subject to change (or other such words)

Greenline Twindoor on the drive (70 mile drive home)
Supeeeeerb replied to Cemesis's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Well wear, OP, and may you have many safe miles in the car. -
Given the length of the warranty, typically 3 years, what would be the point of putting 3 year old (or more) maps onto a repaired system? I haven't investigated but I would guess part of the repair process would be to re-install maps, regardless of whether the owner had the old DVD or not.
-
Read where I referenced it and you may understand the context in which it was raised? You seem to be getting yourself tied up in serious knots for nothing, so, you have your beloved DVD. You must be a pleasure for the poor dealer to deal with?
-
I don't understand what your grievance is. (And I know the difference between Firmware and Software) You've paid for your software and you have your software, it's installed in your car. Even if you have your DVD, what use is it to you? You cannot re-install it (it being already in the car) and you cannot sell it. You have no need or use for the software to be given to you in a second format. Providing you with the DVD does not entitle you to map upgrades, free of charge. People seem to want something tangible, when it comes to software. You are buying the right to use the package, a licence. The provision, or not, of a DVD, is not the same as you being denied access or use of the software. To allege theft is a serious allegation.

The used prices are a testament to the car and a mark of how sought after they are. The OP doesn't, obviously, understand how the used car market works.
-
Best of luck with the car. I've had in the region of 30 cars in my lifetime and the Superb is head and shoulders above all others.
-
There's no reason why you would want or need the DVD after the system is installed. Any firmware upgrades must be done by the dealer and, as was pointed out, a good relationship with your dealer will keep your maps updated when revisions are published. My dealer recently upgraded my maps, free of charge.

I have my CR170 4x4 combi for 14 months and 50,000km. Problems? 1. Driver's door electric window switch unit was replaced under warranty. 2. Sat Nav maps are two years out of date. A nuisance when one is living beside a new Motorway that will be two years opened in July 3. Small fuel tank! Apart from that the car has been everything I had hoped for, and more.

1,200 Mile Update Owning 3.6 V6 4X4 Dsg

Another vote for the too-small fuel tank. I have a CR170 4x4. Last week I filled the tank on Friday, again on Sunday, again on Tuesday, again on Thursday and again on Friday. I did cover about 1500 miles, but the tank is a small nuisance. -
My CR170 4x4 Elegance getting approx 40mpg Ireland Elegance spec includes Heated Leather, Front and rear Park-assist (I was using it in town, one day. Pedestrian on the footpath stopped to look at the steering wheel moving all by itself. V amusing to watch such a reaction) Columbus

A very common misconception. 4x4 is useful 52 weeks of the year.

charlie h, I'd get my computer keyboard look at too, if I was you. Your Shift key isn't working. -
where to get Columbas firmware up grade

How do I find out what version f/w maps I am using? Holding the SETUP button doesn't do anything. -
I don't have the Electric Tailgate, didn't really consider it, TBH, but I can understand the frustration. OP, I would take the car but negotiate a couple of free services for yourself (after deducting the price of the option that was not fitted). That way, you get compensated in your pocket and the dealer isn't too much out of pocket, himself!
-
At the same token, I got a new car in January 20112 with a map that was at least two years out of date. New Motorways which had been open well before my car was manufactured did not appear. The least I expect, given the cost of my car (CR170 4x4 Combi Elegance), was a map that was current the day I received the car. Subsequent upgrades, then OK, but one should not have to put up with an out of date product.

Same here, I've been "advised" about 5 times, so far, that one of my fog-lamps is faulty!

I have a 4x4 CR170 Superb Combi |ELEGANCE since January and haven't had any frost/snow experience, yet. As a car, it's absolutely brilliant, couldn't recommend it highly enough. I selected Rough Road Package, it was only about €300 extra. SKODA.ie were not clear what it entailed but I selected it nonetheless (our roads are not great). I was weary of the 225/45/17 tyres, as I had bad experience of pothole damage with a previous car running these, but I've covered 18,000km now and have had no issues so far. The car gets about 40mpg, as shown on the Multi Function Display (MFD) If I was you I'd order now, for delivery before next Winter. Ventilated seats? I don't have them, but they sound like a good option.

Each to their own, but I have the Mocha with black interior. IMO it's infinitely preferable to the ivory, which would, for me, be impossible to keep clean. I'm not a fan of bright interior colours.
