  1. I get a dual lights fault showing most mornings when driving up to our local ski field. The lights aren't even turned on. Not sure if its angle of the car, temperature or the sun strike on the camera. Clears when I park the car and restart it. Never had it show at night or any other time, matrix function works well otherwise.
  2. I had the diesel vrs Kodiaq too and now have the petrol one instead, and we also have a Kamiq Monte Carlo too. I also use OBD11 to change the throttle responses to linear. I still ran a DTUK pedal box on the diesel though as its throttle response from stopped was way too slow compared to previous VAG cars. I only had to set the box on one of the lower positions to make it good for me. Interestingly the new petrol VRS doesn't have this throttle issue, but our Kamiq does. It is the other half's car so just left it as is though 😉
  3. Agree with this. I have had both versions of the VRS Kodiaq. TSI for a year now after the diesel. I swapped as our government policies on diesel looked to be going pear shaped plus I got sick of the regens and wanted better headlights. I don't agree with written further above in the gearbox being different apart from that the petrol just revs out further because it can, it is the same gearing otherwise. The diesel was indeed stronger low down and uses higher gearing when it can vs what the petrol does as the torque made it easier. The petrol is faster when overtaking as doesn't slow down in acceleration like the diesel does after 150kph. I had a peddle box on the diesel as the throttle pressure required to do anything was too slow and long. I don't need it on the petrol one, it doesnt have lag and I have set the linear setting on both using OBD11. Canton is better than previous version, you can still change things using OBD11 too, and the Matrix headlights actually work and are superior in width and height to the previous dual LED set up. I'm getting around 8.5l/100kms now after 10,000kms which isn’t far off what the diesel did and with diesel with taxes and petrol being similar priced here I'm not missing the regens. The steering wheel is superior too in feel and has two ways of engaging adaptive cruise control now too. Handling is better as the front is lighter so turns in better and DCC feels similar to before in all the different settings. The brakes have better bite too but that may have just been my diesel's brakes weren't quite set the way I like them. So overall I missed the low down torque initially and had forgotten about revs, but the new one is just as quick, revs out nicely, is quite refined, better specced, and handles better so no looking back now.
  4. Oamaru. Picked up Christchurch, Dunedin then back to QT.
  5. Really happy with ours too. Our first drive home from the dealer as had to go to the city to pick it up, it did 470 miles before the fuel light came on, and that's open road driving at 100kph over varying terrain. Headlights are better than my VRS Kodiaq's, seats are comfortable, and handles well with the DCC suspension etc. glass roof can get hot in summer though as the heat transfer is high. No real problems so far except Nav has an empty blanked out speed limit sign display. Will go in for software update next month as a year old so hopefully fixes it. My sisters one is a month newer and is fine.
  6. Yes I realise that, just like the Kamiq's LEDs are different to the pre face lift Kodiaq's and better as I stated. My point was that the 4 LED VW module set up that Zac mentioned and I am familiar with too, still seems to be better performing than the portrayed new Kodiaq Matrix set up now looking at videos online etc. I took a Polestar 2 for a test with Matrix LEDs too, and that still wasn't as good either unfortunately.
  7. My Golf R 7.5 and the Passat R line before it both have better lights than the Kodiaq's, especially in long range distance using high beam. They had 4 separate LED units where the Kodiaq had only 2 plus some old school LED reflectors for high beam. Our Kamiq MC's lights are now better than the Kodiaqs on high beam too, so an advancement in the LED emitter number or LUX output or lens design. So if Skoda's Matrix is using the new Kamiq LED lens set up with the pixelisation applied then it should be an improvement on my old VRS above. But it would be hard for it to outperform the dedicated separate high beam distance lens that the VWs have which seemed to be the main advantage and as you say Zac, they swivel which is better than just turning off sections which ultimately means less light overall. For our roads being able to see around corners at full noise is an advantage. I enabled High beam assist on all our VWs and Skoda's using OBD11 including the Kamiq and it works fine. Doesn't like halogen lights coming towards it much as in reaction time sometimes, as lower power and different colour, but we are getting less of those around now too.
  8. So same as this using obd11? I did it on my Kamiq basically and works fine. Doesn't need a code. Didn't have to open bonnet either. https://www.tiguanforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=7694
  9. Agree its not quite the same and we never use the 7 seats now so can consolidate there. Yes, I'm sure new GTI motor will be fine but you have to admit the VRS is in a different league to having 150ps only, when passing slow traffic/trucks on single lane roads and attacking hills, especially if you are using all the space inside. The 500nm of the outgoing one made all that fairly simple and I live in an Alpine area too so use it frequently as well as the DCC options. We don't spend much time on motorways here, mostly on single lane each side 100kph rural mountain roads. I came from a Golf R so going back to pretty much that motor if we don't have a torquey performance diesel on Skoda's flagship vehicle I would have thought made more sense for what they are charging for it. I also had a Octavia VRs with the GTI motor, and the Passat AWD with the 206 motor and they are noticeably quite different in performance. If the Scout has 206kw, so should the top Kodiaq comparatively.
  10. Agree. For the new Kodiaq VRS if they had to ditch the diesel due to virtue signaling and/or tax pressures in some markets, then it should have the Superb's 206KW motor. I'll be going for a Formentor Cupra when I replace mine, and it's cheaper.

    Clock display

Thanks for that, I found it too that way yesterday. It is definitely on there as an option which sets the future state. Never saw the wizard as dealer probably did it initially, but you can make it start again using the menu prompt.
  12. Hi everyone. Is the 24hour clock the only option in MIB3 and the Kamiq. Seems simple but I cant find how to change the clock to standard, as in non 24 hour time? We only have manually set and GPS as options in the menu. My Kodiaq it's an option but doesn't seem to be on our Monte Carlo. Thanks.
  13. This is what I did. Go into Module 5F MultiMedia Select Adaptations, then Car_Functions_List_BAP_Gen2 Select traffic_sign_recognition_0x21, and set to Activated Select Adaptions, Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu Select menu_display_road_sign_identification, set to Enabled Select Coding, and then select Byte 24, activate Bit 6 – (was already ticked in long coding) Go into Module A5 - Front Sensor Driver Assistance Select Coding, and then select Byte 16, activate Bit 4 (‘Traffic Sign Recognition VZE’ ->Coded) Go into Module 17 Dash Board Select Coding, then Byte 5, active bit 2 (‘Traffic Sign Recognition Installed’ -> Activated) Go back into Module A5 - Front Sensor Driver Assistance Select Adaptations, then Road sign detection fusion mode, and change to Road Sign Detection. The original was Road Sign Fusion Enter Code 20103 to save the change Reboot the infotainment unit
  14. That's what I have already so just went with the same as they seem okay. Done 27,000kms and down to 3mm so should get me through winter.

    Auto braking

Are your crisp packets made of foil? Same thing happened to me taking off from lights in a VW with a chocolate bar wrapper which was made out of foil. Other things I have never had an issue so thinking the radar/AEB etc. looks for metal. So really suggesting the material is more to blame vs the actual object shape and car systems being wrong, as I can run over rabbits, possums and hit birds no problem......
  16. There are a lot more options in 245/40/20 even over here in NZ. Apparently makes little difference overall and on all the tyre calculators they say it is acceptable. I was going to do this on my VRS to save money too, but they had a special on Scorpions at Christmas so I bought some even though I don't need them yet.
  17. Yep same here in NZ in that the Fusion option in the settings only takes the camera input and forgets about the sat nav stored data if camera is enabled. I prefer it this way as enables the virtual cockpit speed sign display, and picks up road works and is correct vs where the sav maps have not been updated. The warning only shows up once as you said, and can be quickly cleared by a steering wheel push in the same way the headlights and personality settings warnings are.
  18. Mine has that in the passenger door too Zach. Is where the grab handle joins the door card and depending on how door was last pulled shut etc. makes a bit of noise on course chip roads. I'm a bit wary of pulling off the formed plastic handle to get at the bolt to tighten it so just live with it. I would think a start stop issue if dashboard is lighting up etc. like normal when start is pushed, could be more around the sensor on the brake pedal possibly or glow plug type warming issue with the diesel. Kodiaq definitely does different start times dependent on the outside temperature from when you push the button.
  19. Yes that's right. 17 - Instruments Security Access (23257) Adaptations Tachometer_final_value > Change this to · Version 4 for 260 kph end and 10 kph increments · or Version 5 for 280 kph end and 5 kph increments. Stock on my VRS was version 0
  20. Exactly same thing on our 1.5 Monte Carlo. Had to drive it 750kms to get it home from the dealership, over two days. Light came on at 730kms. So it made it home without refueling and that's a brand new motor not even run in. That wasn't on a motor way either, but a mix of town driving and open road stuff heading up to alpine where we live and driving it normally i.e. 110 kph, using Adaptive cruise and reasonably aggressive passing other cars when necessary etc. I was pleasantly surprised. Showed 5.5L/100km on the display first day. The headlights are nice too, good if not better than the Kodiaq's on high beam. I find the DCC sport setting better for twisty open road driving in both the suspension firmness and steering feel than normal too. A VRS Kamiq with even the 140kw 2 litre motor would be interesting alternative to a Polo GTI.
  21. You could try while on a slight hill, putting the car in neutral and taking the motor out of the equation, and rolling/braking to a stop? I wouldn't try re-engaging gear while moving with a DSG. If it still does the vibration it's more likely to be steering, wheels or suspension based then. I have VRS with 20 inch wheels and inflate to 2.7 bar and the ride is fine, so don't think your tyre pressure is the reason, that just changes the firmness. Check the tyre wear and if anything is stuck in one, or even better you don't have dry mud hidden on the inside of the rim. Vibes through the steering wheel are common with a lot of built up mud on the rim, or simply dropping a wheel balance weight, which you won't necessarily notice from the outside.
  22. I would be careful with making the front DRLs orange. Probably isn't road legal here. I think just about all of those apart from entire rear light cluster indicating are fairly easy to do using OBD11, at least on my 2019 on looking at the coding's online. I've added a few things like; HB assist, road sign recognition, speedo layout, rear DRL's myself, but the last drive mode memory one doesn't work on a 2019, so 2020 model not sure? I haven't done any of those you are indicating though, as I wouldn't use any of them.
  23. On our two Skoda's the infotainment doesn't go off until the drivers door is opened after the ignition is turned off? If you don't open the door, it shuts down after 30 mins once ignition is off, just like the interior lights will turn off if left on etc. You can continue to talk on the connected cellphone too so definitely doesn't turn off with the ignition. The electric windows also work for about 10 mins too. My last 2 VWs' and another Skoda all did this too.
  24. 1.5 Monte Carlo, when we forget to turn stop/start off, as in we don't like it, it works fine as in stops the car and starts again as designed. The Kamiq is so quiet on idle you cant tell it is actually going anyway, just the hesitation, and then vibration as it starts on the auto stop gives it away. My Kodiaq is more noticeable with the sound actuator if engine is going but works fine, although I don't use start/stop there either. I automatically turn car on and turn that off every time as a process really. should be sort it with OBD11 but......
