  1. £250 fitting it turns out, so I'll go back to option 1 and have the fitted towbar for £500 and buy the other bits with 10% off for more than three items in my basket. At least they went to the trouble to find out about it for me
  2. They had heard about it. I'm waiting for the reply after my phone conversation this morning. Fingers crossed I'll be better off going for the pack.
  3. I love the interweb for the money it can save you I was about to spend £500 on a towbar and electrics then happen to stumble upon the pack offers. Adventure Expedition Sports Trekking Expedition please as it gives me the detatchable towbar with 13-pin elecs. and has all the rubber bits thrown in for free, front and rear mudflaps, rubber floor mats and the boot mat. All for £487
  4. My local dealer has been onto SUK, and SUK didn't acknowledge the fact that SE plus has two-tone grey plastics, yet there it was in the showroom right in front of them. It's as light as the rooflining, so I guess it will show every scuff anyone glances it with shoes etc. Yuk !
  5. What's everyones view of the SE plus two-tone plastics ??? I hated it, reminds me too much of what they did in the B5 Passat's of a certain era. A silver version blends it in well on the door mouldings, but on something like red, it must really stand out ! I hope all those folks on back order know they are getting light grey everywhere
  6. Yes it is built and in the country, it's took some hunting down !, so it comes with what's already in it, plus 13pin elec. detatchable towbar I'm having fitted at the suppling dealer. That is the sensible list sorted, it's a shame the Fabia's wheels don't fit the SM as I've a set with unused snow tyres fitted ready for winter.
  7. I've moved over from the fast boys on the Fabia II forum to the Yeti side where things are "real" Couple of weeks wait for a new Red 110 diesel-SE and trading in my 2011 vRS. A deal I couldn't really turn down after playing dealers off against each other around the country. I'll miss the MDI connection for a hard drive filled with tunes, and my sunroof but not a lot else from the Fabia. I've ordered fitment of a detatchable towbar so what else is the "must have" for the snow monster ???
  8. I've just done a blinding deal for the Yeti, far far better than I could have expected. I've lost £868 on the vRS from January this year. Now I can legally use my car for towing Do roofbars from a Fabia fit a Yeti with new foot pack ?????? I know my steel wheels and new snow tyres wont Turns out the bars are the same.Bonus ! Listed on ebay for a while before changeover day http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110722863890
  9. You can get a towbar, you can get the electrics, you can fit it. What you cannot do is tow anything. Carrying a bike carrier is NOT towing. If you do tow you are breaking the law as you have no insurance as the vRS has no T.A. in UK. It does in Eire ???? I did all this with my mk1 and was thinking of doing the same to this one.
  10. Ha ha, someone is coming to view my vRS this afternoon, it might go without a trade in Now that would be nice.
  11. With over a grand of options fitted, what we paid then is good for the next owner as the online build your skoda makes this to be £17200 right now. There is also a very nice set of winter wheels sat at home with unused snow tyres worth over £500. They don't fit the Yeti either ! Same goes for my roofbars.
  12. Need something I can tow with. Nothing wrong with the car at all, with such few miles on it, it still has that new car smell inside.
  13. I've been sorting values of trading in Snowy the vRS at a few dealers against a new Yeti. My car is pretty well specced and has done 2700 odd miles now since I got it in January. The green book the dealers use is slaughtering the vRS at present. It's dropping £ 65O a month. Mine is now valued at £125OO for a trade on a 19K yeti, next month 65O less yikes ! Anyone need a vRS now ? Might be a rather nice one very soon in white.
  14. I never use the touch-up brush as it deposits too much paint at once. What you need is a wooden cocktail stick, dip the point onto your brush and take a pinprick of paint. This fills the minor blemish just fine and also leaves room for a 2nd coat/or laquer.
  15. This may be useful to you http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp?action=submit I've used Beetle wheels which are the same as MKIV Golfs, and fitted 185/60/16 M+S tyres.
  16. All sorted now. It'll never happen again.
  17. Red or white it doesn't matter, but go look at one with a black roof and red body. Have a look at the finished paint edge on the C pillars, they have fitted a plastic piece to cover it, then open the doors and follow the paint line........... Solid paint all day long thank you Red also does show through a lot more on the inner metalwork not trimmed inside the cabin.
  18. Tyres away from home. You could try here http://www.tesco-tyres.com/ No they dont fit them at the superstores ................................ you use their approved fitting centres which happen to be in the main independants. What will they try to sell us next :wonder:
  19. The thule footpack adaptors have some vinyl backing stuck to it by your's truely No scratching of the paint, and the only sign it had bars fitted was dust around the rubber foot on the roof, which wiped off with a damp cloth. Having an estate would mean no space in the garage for four mtb's and a BMW GS, so it's a hatchback for me
  20. Have a look here http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/189230-vrs-steering-issue/page__view__findpost__p__2291981__fromsearch__1 Took Scott a while but he did sort it.
  21. Have a look here http://www.skodaparts.com/product/fabia-hatch-rear-bumper-protection-cover-2007-2011-24824 I think it's now expensive
  22. Mine's the same Just over 2000 miles and gone through 2 litres that I remember !
  23. Been to the BVF this weekend at Malvern. One vRS loaded to the hilt, and it still returned 44mpg there and back What a top car
  24. No chance with a pram as the others said. Getting yourself a new stroller that fits is your best plan of action. We used to have a Seat Arosa with the smallest boot known to man ! We found a stroller that folded up much shorter than others and used it until it fell apart after years of abuse. It was made by Bebecar that had a sliding framework when folded in half making it much, much shorter. A lot more money that your average stroller, but needs must if you want the right car.
  25. I've got 185/60/16 's but not had chance to try out them out with M+S tyres on them
