And, sorry to overlook but thanks @MartiniB for putting this together. Really useful and some brilliant stuff. Love tinkering with stuff like this.

On this turning on rear DRLs - I found the stored value is in English…BUT…there is Daytime Running Lights, and Daytime Running Lamps. On my MY21 it is “Daytime Running Lamps”.
It is nuts how half of it is in English and half in German. For example - “Not Active”, then “Activ 100%”. Tricky

Yeah I think you’re right. The fixing at the end of the elbow is the wrong angle for mine. It’s silly as I think a load of websites are getting it wrong probably because 2021 vehicle for one brand isn’t the same. Mine must be very early Gen4 and is probably when they switched from 272 back up to 280. Maybe.
Cheers for getting back to me. Fingers crossed for the sale 👍

What Gen of EA888 is this suitable for?
I have a set of Racingline versions but found the intake hose doesn’t have a connection to spur in an oil breather - which means it’s for the Gen3 and my engine is the Gen4. If your stuff is for Gen4 then I’d be interested! Otherwise, it’s the same issue as what I already have.
Cheers!

Hi all,
Wondering if anyone has changed anything on the MK3 Octy vRS to make it sound a little beefier, not looking to get a full exhaust system, just perhaps changing an air filter or something along those lines
Thanks!
@vRSRutty are you still looking for something? I bought some Racingline intake bits and turbo muffler delete on here that should make a bit better intake sound. Panel filter, intake hose and intake elbow are all simple and smooth the airflow, the turbo muffler delete is designed to do that also. Bought them in prep for warranty expiring…and completely overlooked that I bought bits for a Gen3 engine and I have a Gen4 so some different infrastructure design and these bits won’t fit 🤦🏻♂️.
Send me a message if you want to know more.

Hey all,
Hope this doesn’t contravene any regs but please give me a yellow card if so!Hey
just in case anyone was feeling flush and was looking to purchase - Racechip have a 25% discount code that I’ve seen ends today.
It is hH1ahpHSI have no affiliation, just had this in an email as a previous customer and thought I’d pass it on as I don’t think it’s individual to me so shouldn’t need my login or be a 1 shot (but as I haven’t tried, I can’t guarantee anything!).

Can also spray it on the body around the wheels to decontaminate any iron fallout, stated to be safe for lacquered wheels so no issue on lacquered paint. Same thing, let it dwell without drying, see if there any little red dots appear and jet wash off.
@Colin170CR Surfex is probably the best APC on the market by the looks of some isolated testing so def a wise choice.

Atom Detailing is Sheffield based. Both approved by International Detailing Association and Professional Valeters and Detailers which are the two industry bodies which means you’re getting quality. They’ve also been around long enough to add a plethora of additional services so should have a menu for pretty much everything you want.

Hey Nick - let me look at contacts I’ve got and let you know.

Yeah that looks like it AS. None of the suppliers I can see mention the gen4 until I spotted reference to the Mk8 golfs.
Cheers for confirming. -
Hi all,
bought a silicone intake hose a little while back but waiting for warranty to expire. Now that has, I was looking to swap but have noticed the following pipe spur into the bottom of it that isn’t on the replacement. Is it a sump breather? I can’t see facility to plug it into any replacements so what do people do with it?

Thank you for coming back to post the resolution. Always good for the bank of potential answers in future 👍

Some detailers will use compound with a 1” head and rotary polisher but you need to know what you’re doing. Worth trying some polishing compound with microfibre cloths for on and off. Needs to be proper compound not just a hand polish product which is more likely fillers and a wax coating.

Personally I’d leave the battery in place and charge so that any permanent live systems stay on. May be other considerations that others will state though

Hello,
Its my first post, but i am Superb III user since 2020. Yesterday i find vide on YT how unlock some hiden fetures using VCDS. YT LINK
After this, i have problem with front lights. First problem is, fog lights not working now, no indicator lamp on dash. Looks like off somewhere. Also Come and Leave lights not working now, when i lock or unlock doors its only indicator light flashing, but headlight not works. Also when engine is off and Light switch is on Auto possition all light is off, before even engine off, Led strip was on . Final question is, its any option reset all adaptation chcnges make by myself in module 09 , without any damage ?
Thank You for any help
Welcome and yes it does sound a bit of a situation.
Luckily you’re in the best place for info and answers. Check the logs as suggested and unpick what you did.
Alternatively does the video tell you what values to change from? Maybe go through it again reverting all values back to what they were.
And finally luckily there is a pinned post at the top of this section with all the tried and tested VCDS changes you can make 👍

I think had I not spent years watching rally drivers do it their way I would have seen the logic in the way it is done at consumer level (albeit at least with BMW as the exception).

I have found, through owning my previous Octavia and my wife's current Citigo that these Skoda forums are easily the best of the car forums I've used.. I'm now looking for a 4wd car, as my daughter's bought a horse trailer. My shortlist includes the Superb 4wd and an Audi Q5. I asked the same question on the owners club Q5 forum about modern diesel cars and DPFs and received virtually no response. I have also found Skoda dealers to be much more approachable than Audi dealers, which is almost enough alone to push me back towards Skoda.
Feeling the love. Def a good active forum. I think the only thing seems like meets have fallen away but I’m betting that’s widespread

I’m thinking of trading my 2019 Octavia vRS TSI for a Superb. I had one as a courtesy car a couple of months ago (no idea which model, it was a diesel hybrid with lots of bells and whistles). I really liked the additional refinement and comfort (I think I’m finally getting old) and the fact it still had physical heater controls (the main reason I’m not interested in the Mk4 Octavia). Having looked at the model line up I really like the look of the 280 Sportline Plus.
There are only two 2023 cars for sale on AutoTrader. They’re both at Marshall’s, have near identical specs and put on AT within a couple of months of being registered (presumably by the dealer). Both have been reduced in price by £4k and now sit around £35k.
Should I be concerned that both have been for sale for over 4 months?. Is this model / spec / colour a good buy or a bit of a white elephant? What would be a good buy price (will trade my vRS in elsewhere)?
Should I try to overcome my dislike of chrome and large arch gaps and look at the L&K? Is it a better spec than the SL+?
In answer to your initial question though, I wouldn't worry about the behaviour of the dealers - could be a whole host of reasons; like wanting to get sales figures etc.
The car is wholly under-rated compared to its VW and Audi counterparts. May not have some of the same stuff but its got the same look and feel and is a whole lot rarer. Sportline replaces wiht chrome with black trim so that's better and you don't miss out on much. Can see 4 Sportline or L&K 2023 so a few options around...

Not for me to decide whether anything should or should not be removed. I didn't know it could - but I have plenty of equipment that is sensitive to it; Heart Rate Monitors, bike speed and cadence sensors, a few kids toys. Have moved over to Energiser just to avoid having to deal with it.

Hilarious. And they wonder why more and more customers lose trust in the dealer network. I guess you need a new engine when a water pump fails too… 🙄Water pump is new car, it’s a slightly grubby oil filler cap which needs new engine.

Some coin batteries have a sticker that must be removed. Fooled me too.
That and the bitter coating on some (certainly duracell, maybe others) seems to make a difference too.
Anyone else spec the heated steering wheel?

I never had a graphic on the Columbus with the seats. Just an indicator on the dash; might be a facelift thing though? However that was until a little over a year ago when it stopped working altogether. Had a new steering wheel out of it under warranty (just before expiring) but tech reckoned if Skoda wanted to dig deeper into found I’d been using VCDS then they might void the warranty.
Tech was a bit vague on the phone but I think he said the system was feeding back that the wheel was over temp and so auto-switching off permanently.
Found on VCDS that you can set the shut-off temp but it’s at 50c and can’t be set higher.
