Mute radio or media for satnav voice
Thanks rbz5416. Realised I turned the reduction down to zero instead of UP to maximum ( reduction). Thanks again!

Mute radio or media for satnav voice
Hi. I've tried that but sound doesn't mute. I've got navigation volume on 10 and entertainment volume reduction on 0.

Mute radio or media for satnav voice
I'm sure I e done this with previous Skoda's and MB's. But on my 2025 Sportline edition I cannot find anywhere on the menu system that forced the radio or media to mute whenever a satnav instruction is forthcoming. It's a fundamental and should be obvious to achieve. How do I do it?

Lane Assist and ACC
If only one could turn it off and not have it reset by default.

Lane Assist and ACC
And I don't blame you

Lane Assist and ACC
Yes one can turn these assists off but they reset to assists on when restarting the engine.

Lane Assist and ACC
Recently swapped an SEL for a Sportline. I just wondered how any new owners are getting on with the Lane Assist and the Adaptive Cruise Control. I'm not really used to it yet. Forget to use the indicators or just move across slip roads and the pull on the steering wheel is really disconcerting, almost dangerous. Ditto the cruise control. This speeds up and slows the car down when speed limits change and/or a car slows down ahead - the immediate automatic braking can cause mayhem to vehicles behind who don't expect such a rapid deceleration. I know these can be tuned off on the menu but what a faff. There's a button for switching off start/stop so why isn't there similar for Lane assist and ACC? Does one get used to these functions and if so how long does it take?

Time for a change? How does it compare to a Octavia
Can't understand anybody complaint about Karoq noise?? I had an MB for years and to be honest I was amazed by the (quiet) noise levels. Suggest you test drive one and I'm sure you will agree the noise is pretty minimal

Time for a change? How does it compare to a Octavia
Noise - very quiet. SEL Karoq excellent. sportline almost as good despite stupid 19" wheels.

Time for a change? How does it compare to a Octavia
We test drove a Tiguan but not sure why, but it felt heavy and not instantly as satisfying as the Karoq.
-
Time for a change? How does it compare to a Octavia
We had a yeti and an MB coupe (super car). Changed to s single car and had to be easy access for wife and friend. The Karoq was our choice for access and boot space.

Time for a change? How does it compare to a Octavia
I had a 1.5tsi dsg karoq SEL for almost 3 years. I found it exceptionally quiet. It was frugal easy to get 48-52 mpg (average over 20k miles was 47mpg accurate as Skoda's always 2.5% optimistic. Swapped the SEL for a 1.5tsi dsg Sportline. As car only has 1500miles on it so a tight engine and currently on a trip to Spain, averaging 47mpg but keeping speed around 60-65 and occasionally up to 70ish mph. Didn't like the fact that both from shock absorbers were leaking at 20000miles only - serious questionregarding quality of some parts. We have had a Fabia estate, 2 Yetis, 2 karoqs.

Sportline and SEL
Doesnt seem to have that much difference on fuel consumption. However I'm sure if one changes the mode to eco it will move gears up quicker Just a pain that the default each time one starts the car is normal rather than eco etc

Sportline and SEL
It never seems to be clear what these Skoda cars come with. I had to turn s previous SEL down because the virtual dash wasn't there. The car I have is an Edition but now find it's a 2024 not a 2025. But most of the new stuff is there. Why Skoda don't take a poll of potential or actual buyers I don't know.

Sportline and SEL
I have the fuel consumption (present and since start) showing in the rev counter but no 2 cylinder icon appears. As I said somebody posted that it's on another cockpit display only.
-
Sportline and SEL
Ok. Plus on my preferred virtual cockpit (2 traditional dials) the icon doesn't show at all. Someone had said it only shows in one of the other cockpit designs.

Sportline and SEL
Thanks for this. So ACT is only working when in Eco and cylinder reductions only occur th Eco?

Sportline and SEL
The 2025 Sportline no longer shows the actual gear. Been replaced by just D ( or M). If one uses a paddle the D immediately changes to M1,M2,M3 etc. Retrograde step I think. That's on 'Normal 'mode. I haven't checked on Eco mode.

Sportline and SEL
Recently traded in my 3 year old petrol dsg SEL for a new Sportline dsg. I've noticed that the gears are held for longer. I used on the SEL to be able to use the paddle to move from M6 to M7. Now it's most reluctant to change up using the paddle. Even on coasting roads it doesn't like moving to top gear. Unfortunately with my virtual dash ( 2 dials) the ACT symbol doesn't show but think I can detect when coasting. I think I've read somewhere that the mapping is different on Sportline to make it sportier. I have noticed a slight difference in mpg but the new car has very little mileage (1500 miles) on it compared with my old SEL (22000 miles). Any other owners moved from SEL to Sportline and noticed any differences apart from trim?

Aero inserts on 19” Alloys
One does wonder who actually designs some of these chronic wheels. What happened to easy clean 5 spoke wheels. And none of the low profile rubbish - design over substance!
-
Aero inserts on 19” Alloys
My sportline delivered a couple of weeks ago had Sagittarius wheels but no inserts! Not that I wanted them!

Autoglym Lifeshine - how to care for it?
I cannot believe that Autoglym wouldn't provide some indication of how to help maintain the Lifeshine treatment. Very poor service to the customer! My previous Mercedes had a Diamondbrite coating and after 10 years it still looked a good finish.

Centre dash display
GillyGilbert. Sorry, the photo is not of the Sportline but of my previous SEL. However the effect I want is the satnav directions between the 2 dials - exactly what I had on the SEL. When a route was input on the satnav, the car disappeared and was replaced with the datnav directions. I fear it's just not possible. Retrograde step Skoda!

Centre dash display
GillyGilbert. I can get an arrow showing on the left hand panel oh the digital display options not ideal. I note you can get it in the centre of one digital display. I've tried everything but cannot get it in the centre panel of the two dial display as the photo. Driven from Calais south today, over 300 miles. Mpg 50.1 so about 48mpg allowing for the Skoda error which is always optimistic! Mostly speed was 65-75. Do miss seeing the ACT symbol at top of dash whenever the car is not using s couple of cylinders.
