Electric Tailgate
That was my thought. I know forums generally only discuss problem areas rather than praising components etc but .....

Electric Tailgate
Having read some reports of owners having major problems with electric tailgates I just wonder if it's actually worth specifying one. Is it better to just have the standard tailgate, so less likely to have a failure?

Software Update
Ah, so ignition on but staionary, thanks. I can only assume mine must have updated. Very confusing that going to Menu/settings/system it shows the various system referenced but always states 'Updates' on the bottom bar that then goes to a blank screen with 'Update' in the top left hand side but clicking on that gived nothing. Shame it doesn't say Software up to date.

Software Update
2022 Karoq SEL. Saw s message on screen a few days ago saying Software Update. Clicked on menu and then system. Came up with software versions and on the bottom bag said update software. Clicked on that and came up a blank screen with just saying Update on the left and system on the right. As it shows nothing else do I assume after multiple attempts that it has updated? The info under menu, updates states Hardware H22 Software 0306 Navigation database 23.6 Radio database 1.30.24 Are these all updated to latest? I have tried with engine off, engine on, just ignition on, with me out of the car. It's not at all clear

Karoq electric boot
That's very poor indeed. Makes one wonder what quality control is like at Skoda. You would think Skoda would be ashamed at how this damages their image - or perhaps they just don't care!

Electric Tailgate
I have seen a few postings regarding faulty electric tailgates ( and expensive repairs). I currently have a Karoq on order with an electric tailgate. Had an MB for some years with a powered tailgate and no issues. Should I be worried about potential problems here?

Karoq electric boot
Quite a sad story and doesn't paint Skoda in a good light. I have a new SEL on order and have specced an electric tailgate. Anyone else had problems with the electric tailgate or have you found them useful and generally reliable?

Update Build date week 33, so mid August. Then add for delivery.

Karoq Order
New SEL ordered approx early April. Factory have accepted the order a few days ago. No build date. Dealer reckons end August/ September delivery.

Replacing Yeti
Absolutely. The sales and service staff are hopeless.

Replacing Yeti
I did buy an Karoq in the end. It seems to fit the bill OK. Rides better than the Yeti.

Extended warranty for Karoq
Are these cars so unreliable that one has to even think of taking out an warranty! Really quite worrying.

Replacing Yeti
OK, an update. In the end after much soul searching I bought a Skoda Karok SEL. We wanted a car with easy access and the Karok has a similar step in height. We also needed space for trips to the tip and for suitcases etc when touring abroad. The Karok seemed to tick most boxes. The car drives really well and is particularly comfortable. Downside is the infotainment system and satnav - typical VW its outdated and not user friendly at all' I have now mastered most of it but even my 10 year old MB was far more advanced in technology. Another upside was that of my wife all the controls are as per the Yeti. The 1.5 petrol engine is very smooth and economical - over 7K it has averaged a true 48mpg and we have seen 57mpg abroad. I know its subjective but the Skoda dealers have only a small knowledge of the cars they sell and the customer is left to sort out all sorts of things and despite a totally useless handbook.

Colour Choice
Thanks for all your replies. I have ordered a graphite grey but told the garage I would accept another petrol blue one or perhaps a white one if these came up.

Aero inserts on 19” Alloys
The inserts have been dropped from new orders or the wheel design? I've just ordered a new SEL and believe the complete wheel including inserts are on the configurator.

Colour Choice
As an aside, today a couple of people saw our petrol blue car and mentioned how good it looked. When I mentioned that I was considering a graphite grey one, they said the blue made a change from all those grey cars around!

Colour Choice
I guessed this would be the case. To be honest our present Karoq ( and previous Yeti) in petrol blue is pretty good. Wife likes the petrol blue and would be happy with the graphite grey; I like the grey but am happy with the blue! Must try and park our blue one next to a grey one to help decide!

Colour Choice
I'm agonising about which colour to order for a Karoq SEL. Presently have a petrol blue one and trying to decide on another petrol blue, graphite grey or maybe even a white one. I just can't decide upon a preference. Some colours are better than others at hiding dirt between cleaning. Anyone any experience of having maybe had two of the colours and thus experience in actual use.

Infotainment system 😱
Checked today and indeed the media player does mute when there are navigation announcements. Thanks for this!

Infotainment system 😱
Funnily I was scrolling through the menu system today and came across the link. The wording was rather vague but now you have mentioned this I shall move the slider to virtually 'off' and see if it does indeed mute radio/music when a Satnav announcement is made.
-
Infotainment system 😱
Ok, here's another thing or is it just me. I have found that music or radio playing isn't muted when the Satnav is giving directions or other info. Other cars I have had mute the music automatically so the Satnav announcements can be easily heard. Or is there a setting in the menu for this?

Light Assist Package
Anybody else experienced similar problems with the matrix lights?

Light Assist Package
Well your experience seems quite a damning report on these lights. My previous Mercedes that was 12 years old operated absolutely faultlessly in such situations. You imply that you would rather have had the non-matrix LED lighting. This really concerns me as to whether to go for the Lights Assist package or not!
