  1. http://www.halfords.com/motoring/paints-body-repairs/car-scratch-repair-kits/halfords-skoda-candy-white-scratch-chip-repair-kit Halfords do their own. You can get a set from dealers (proper Skoda paint) for about £13 for paint and clear-coat.
  2. I might be interested, but I can't collect, so it would have to be postage.
  3. Did you notice any increase in braking with the mintex pads over standard?
  4. As above but I used hammerite black smooth, miles better now. I wouldn't use any other colour as it may give a drum brake look effect.
  5. Get the London colour kit as per that thread above and don't look back ;-)
  6. I had the tensioner replaced fairly cheaply on mine, worth considering if it bothers you like it did me.
  7. There is a few. They can be stiff. Here is the procedure from another thread.
  8. Mine did not fail MOT with HID kit. Levellers and washers need only work IF INSTALLED.
  9. Perfect, thank you. It is well deep enough to clear the sill, it's 2 hockey pucks together. Cheers all.
  10. Thanks Auric, I tried parcel2go, no joy. Still got these, need them gone!
  11. Anybody else any thoughts on the above? Can you safely jack on the wrong side of the sill?
  12. So it doesn't matter if it touches the outside of the seam? Is that area strong enough as it would effectively seem you are putting half the load through it?
  13. Hi all, I've bought a deep U shaped puck for trolley jacking. It is the same length of both sides so it touches both sides of the jacking area (doesn't touch the sill). I was led to believe it can only touch the inside to avoid damage. Is this correct? If so I'll have to trim a bit off one of the puck lengths to make it into a J shape. Cheers, Stuart.
  14. Just tried out the jack then. Couldn't get it high enough to get the axle stands under the suspension bushes, needed an extra inch or so under the jack in form of a block of wood to give it the required lift. Bit miffed really as it means I can't use the axle stands on anything more than the lowest setting.
  15. That cheap trolley jack I linked is well, cheap, but it does seem to jack quite high. The axle stands are fairly good too.
  16. I suppose I will counter a lot of what is on here... I am quite a frequent customer to Simpsons, my car gets work done in several guises throughout the year. I am very particular about the way things are done, and the staff know this and acknoledge it. The staff are always polite and knowledgeable, and will try their best to sort problems out. Had engines replaced in the past by them, so I'm sure the staff are competent enough. They do try it on with a few things, had a MOT advisory for brake discs, offered to replace front discs and pads for £280, politely declined, checked and there appears to be nothing wrong with them. Apart from that, no real complaints from me
  17. Just ordered a tyre rack so won't need the tyre tree. Would you sell the covers on there own? Not sure on price to be honest, from amazon they don't look too dear new. Hanging fire on this at the moment, lots going on ebay, I will wait to see if you don't sell them as a whole. Thanks
  18. Hi mate, would you consider selling the tyre tree and covers separately? Will they fit 18" alloys (Neptunes)? Edit: Reviews suggest these struggle on 17" tyres http://www.amazon.co.uk/Goodyear-75526-Tyre-Bag-Piece/dp/B00BGT70Q6 :(
  19. Mike, I was going to go down the jack pad route, but I've seen across multiple forums that these are designed for 4 post lifts only, and several people have bent the underneath of the car using these as a single jack point.
  20. Had a quick look at postage costs, going to be easily £40+, probably not worth it.
