  2. I also live in Preston so getting to Manchester shouldn't be a problem.
  3. I'd be interested to see pics of these as well. Cheers.
  4. I also fitted a BT module behind the climatronic unit. I had to cut the tabs off the BT module to get it to fit. The most difficult part was getting the loom adapter to fit behind the head unit, it's tight.
  5. They are identical, just branded as ecs. They should have the vw part number on somewhere. The red tops are the latest revision I think, that's what are on mine after I had one fail.
  6. My tensioner got changed this afternoon as a precautionary measure. Hopefully should be fine now.
  7. I'm interested mate, do you still have the lower L bracket? Also, is R/H the correct side for UK cars? My current bonnet strut is left.
  8. Throttle body alignment noise maybe - if it is, this is normal.
  9. I've been told the locals call it knobagob. Not sure how true this is.
  10. Hah, this is about 1 minute drive away from me. I warn you though, if it pis**es it down, have fun getting off Longridge Show Ground, it's grass and on an incline Might have to show my face.
  11. Turbo and manifold all one unit. Maybe weld the manifold crack?
  12. Be interested to see how you get on with these, with how cheap they are.
  13. No issues with Fizzmos here, give just a nice white light without being excessive. For what it's worth, that was the Fizzmo 36mm (I think) 3 SMD bulbs. I think the SuperSkoda ones are a bit too bright, espeically when the rear of the car is lit up as well as the number plate. But hey, each to their own.
  14. Agree with above, cracking unit when I had my Fabia. Sold it to another member on here.

  16. Hi Rizmod, He is called Ian Collins (ICA), he is a one man band but very, very good. http://www.vwaudispecialistpreston.co.uk/ If you ring 01995 640958, say you have spoken to Stuart and would like a price for a tensioner change he should give you one straight away, as he only quoted me last week. He has done a few Golf GTIs, same job. Bear in mind he is very busy, mine is being done mid December so you will be looking later than that. Hope this helps. Cheers.
  17. I am having the timing cover changed, just not the chain.
  18. As a few have pointed out in this thread, it would be most unlucky for it to happen, but I have decided to take preventative action and have the tensioner replaced in mine as it is an early 2011 model, so definitely has one of the earlier tensioners, maybe 2nd revision at best. My VAG Specialist (Ian Collins Automotive in Garstang, Preston) has quoted £350 all in to get it done, so it's booked in December, for peace of mind more than anything else, as I want to keep the car a while yet. What is concerncing though is everyone saying change the chain and guides as well, unfortunately I am not going that far and only changing the tensioner.
  19. Everything you needed to know about the different modules: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Telephone_Retrofitting
  20. It remembers. I have large MPH enabled and it stays on that after engine on (after pressing 'back' from the phone screen which appears when the phone connects - unfortunately nothing I can do to stop this happening)
  21. Hi Dan. Not bothered in the end, got a full Milltek DP + cat back coming which eliminates the pre-cat anyway
