  1. About 3 weeks with the first one and 2 or 3 weeks with the 2nd. Shock wouldn't be in it. I didn't even know we where trying the 2nd time but SWMBO assures me we were
  2. The two F-type connectors are for cable and FM respectively. If you look carefully you will see one of them marked FM and other CATV. Connect your radio to the FM socket and you should get all the national stations including the AM ones plus a few local stations. The stations are dotted all over the FM frequency range and NTL don't transmit RDS but it's a free way of getting up 30 radio stations without using an aerial. The other socket is the CATV digital cable output. This carries digital TV and broadband services. It also has the normal terrestrial 5 channels carried on it so you can split off if directly to a TV and subject to re-tuning you will get the 5 channels. My advice is not to use ordinary RF patch leads with adapters particularly on the CATV side and those plastic splitters you can buy from Argos are no use either. When making the connections use F-type connectors (crimped if possible and a low loss splitter suitable for CT125 cabling which you should also use. Doing it this way ensures minimal losses and it won't kill the signal strength at your cable box and ntl modem. 4 way splitter F-Connectors CT/FT125
  3. Cars with front sensors have a switch to enable/disable the front parking sensors only. You turn them on manually when you need them.
  4. Oops sorry, I'm confused but that is very interesting. I assumed it was the TEL IN connection you were referring to. Should have checked the pin no's I guess. If its a mono input on the pins you mention, its still totally hopeless though and not worth the bother IMO. It's also not the same connection used for the 'aux' plug in the jumbo box because that's a full stereo decent quality input. When you say 'assigned' do you mean they are the only pins there or that they are the only pins that are labelled? In mine all the pins are there but not all labelled. Despite this it doesn't mean the unlabelled pins do nothing. I suspect for example that some of them are pre-outs for the optional 12 channel speaker system amp that's now only available if you opt for the Audience HU.
  5. These are for a low quality mono input from a hands free phone kit. This input becomes active when the hands free kit grounds out the tel mute connection on the radio and it's not suitable for anything else. I use it with my Parrot CK-3100. The stereo input you are looking for will require connection to Left, right and ground so thats at least 3 pins (or 4 if the ground connections are separated). You are on the right connector though as the other similar connector beside it is reserved for the autochanger. I think plug C is used for all pre-in and pre-out connections from the Head unit but I haven't yet bothered putting an oscilloscope on it to identify the pins yet. In conclusion. If it doesn't actually say Aux L & R and GND then you will have to go to Skoda to find out which pins to use or buy a connector lead from them (if available). I wouldn't hold out much hope of finding out the revised pin out from Skoda though as they don't like their customers DIYing in cars still under warranty and I personally had no success.
  6. Ah right apologies. If the car has the post 22 revisions then there will no doubt be a connection on the head unit unlike the older units. I doubt it's a standard 3.5mm or phono connector tho so you may need a specific skoda connector.
  7. I got the same to extent in my place but once each of them was in it you could have heard a pin drop. They were shocked and somewhat envious at the kit, the build quality and the performance I got for the money.
  8. Aww mate well pleased for ya. Baby Evie is perfect. Hope Tracy is all good, childbirth aint easy. The nurses had to throw me out the first night cos I was falling asleep and I wouldn't let go of Peter. It was a real special time. You must be proud. Congratulations Dad.
  9. That's just ****. Fingers crossed something else comes up for ya. Remember, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
  10. Same here. The lease company said it was up to me but they have found black magic paint to be a lot more susceptable to scratches etc and i've since seen what they mean on other peoples cars.
  11. When I read the thread title I thought 'what the hell is this about, a competition on rear legroom?'
  12. VW have already shot themselves in the foot by allowing Skoda to bring out the OctyII vRS. I doubt they will allow a DSG version to be developed as it would hit Golf V sales even harder.
  13. That's right. Also, a friend bought a TV a while back, gave an incorrect address to avoid the TV licencing people and then had a warranty claim a couple of days later cos it packed in on him. He wondered why the engineer didn't arrive to fix it when they said he was supposed to. That's right he went to the wrong address leaving my mate to explain the situation to the retailer and a neighbour that he doesn't exactly see eye to eye with.
  14. I agree. It could be serious enough financially if there's a faulty turbo but it's not an engine overhaul or anything. If it was a serious mechanical fault with the oily bits you would know about it.
  15. Whats's it coming to when you have to wish yourself happy birthday. No one noticed mine either . Happy birthday
  16. IIRC DSG isn't available on the 1.9 4x4 so I doubt it will be available on the 2.0. My thinking is that 4x4 Golfs are sold on their sporting pretentions so it gets the DSG but Skoda 4x4's are sold more on their flexibility for a bit of off road use so it doesn't. The DSG isn't anywhere near as flexibile as the manual for off road use, it can overheat in certain circumstances, and getting grip when towing etc isn't as easy either. If it is available i'm sure you are looking at £19.5k. I think the OctyII is great and all but that's a kick in **** off 20 grand once you add side airbags! I'm assuming the all essential ESP is standard.
  17. I'm really surprised you didn't notice it slipping before it finally went though.
  18. How much! Hold on while I pick myself up off the floor.
  19. Despite sticking with it up until now i'm strongly considering going for an aftermarket HU to replace the stream. I miss me sub.
