Thoughts please - Skoda Yeti 1.2TSI Battery Replacement - Factory fitted Battery is non stop start.
I have a 1.4 stop/start and had to replace the battery last year. Took it to my local indy dealer who changed it in about 5 minutes without any re-programming, just removed the connections and old battery and installed a new battey, (about £140). I have not had any issues since?

Leaking Panoramic Roof - The Cause and the Cure
..mine had a very minor leak (front left), that only let in a few drops of water after a really heavy shower, (didn't even wet the carpet but noted a few drips by the bonnet release catch). I took it to our local indy who took off the a pillar covers and found that the front left drain pipe had been "squashed" by an overtight cable tie fixing. (ie excess water was not able to drain away quickly enough). He replaced this and also detached and re-sealed the other drain pipes. This seemed to do the trick, however rather than "hope" I also applied clear gorrilla tape around all the sunroof but only as far as the rubber seal, ie not on any paintwork. (I never have the sunroof open anyway)....after 2 years so far so good?!

Yeti to Kamiq?
Hi Gumdrop, and thanks for the reply. I was originally looking at a Vitara, but I am struggling to find one locally, and they do not feel "quality" compared to the Yeti. Must admit I am not bothered aboiut a glasss roof, particulalry given some of the issues being reported, (Think I have only opened mine once in the 4 years of ownership!). Sods law I have just had to put some new boots on mine, and the service and MOT are due in the next couple of weeks, so I may well keep it over Winter and look to change early next year. I also considered a Puma as these are getting good reviews, but not keen on the styling.

Yeti to Kamiq
Hi all, I currently own a Yeti (1.4 LK) which I love, but been looking to change for something newer for a while. Only just started looking at the Kamiq? Any Yeti owners who have swapped for a Kamiq got any advise?....ie good or bad... My preference would be for a 1.0 110hp auto in SEL trim... Many thanks for any replies

New replacment tyres
Hi all and thanks for all the input ..well, I got my 4 "Toyos" all season fitted today...£400. Too early to tell, but at least they seem fairly quiet! If I was going to keep the car I would have happily paid another £200 for the Michelin cross climates, but I will probably sell next year. The fronts still had over 3mm left on them, (I had "switched" them around 15k miles). They were all the original tyres so probably not too bad for 6 years and 27k miles?

New replacment tyres
Hi all and thanks for the replies. If i was keeping the car I would definitely get the Michelin Cross climates. Our local tyre company has quoted £119+vat, so round £570 for 4. However it was my intention to sell pre covid but it never happened, but I will probably be selling next year so I may go for their recommendation of Toyos own all season tyres which work out at around the £400 mark. The fronts still have around 4mm of tread on them, but I understand that being a (part time) 4*4 it is better to replace them all at the same time? ..thanks again for taking time to reply....

New replacment tyres
Hi, and yes will be replacing all 4. Since I had the car I have "rotated them" a couple of times, but will be needing an MOT next month and they are starting to get near the depth marks. I will probably be selling next year so thought I may as well get them changed and get some use of new tires over the winter months...ta for all the replies.

New replacment tyres
..ta for the replies, I noted a few years ago people were recommending "cross climates"..not sure if that is a generic term or a specific make?

New replacment tyres
Hi all, I am aware that this topic has probably been covered before, but can't find anything recent. After 28k miles it looks like I will be needing to replace the tires on my 2015 awd 1.4 Yeti, just wondering what peoples thoughts are on a suitable replacements? Many thanks for any recommendations...

Battery replacement 2010 Yeti
..I'll admit "I know nothing", but doesn't the onboard fancy ECU / Computer doo dah not have the facility to analyse the state of the battery anyway?.....eg when I first got my Yeti the stop/start hardly ever worked, (it worked occasion, but only after a "long" drive when it would occasionally kick in. In hindsight the battery must have been ify, and never seemed to read more than 11.5 volts when I checked it with a multi meter. (Since confirmed by indy who advised that there was a known problem with a batch of batteries made by another manufacturer for Skoda and affected cars made around 2015. Since the battery has been replaced the S/S has worked pretty much every time I stop the car, with the usual exception of cold mornings / heavy load. So I therefor assume the ECU must know that the new battery has better voltage?

Battery replacement 2010 Yeti
..I did mention this to my local indy, (who specialises in Skoda's and Yeti's in particular), and he politely suggested it was all "cobblers"?

Battery replacement 2010 Yeti
I have a 2015 petrol Yeti with Stop/Start and lots of other wired and wonderful gadgets. I had to change the battery a few months ago and got my knickers in a twist over the "coding" issue. One local battery supplier even said they couldn't do it. I ended up taking it to our local indy dealer who simply disconnected the battery, removed it and then installed a new one, back up and running in about 5 mins, no re-programming / re coding or anything else and it's been fine since?.....even the Stop / Start started working again. (It had been "dormant" since I got the car at 2 years old.....I now have to keep remembering to turn the bl@@dy thing off)....

Px.value
..latest WBAC offer now £17,140 WT@~+!!!!!...ie pretty much what I paid for it
-
Px.value
too be honest, I much prefer the "higher spec" of the S cross, but I find it a bit "fugly", and (prior to covid), the resale values were no that good...just my opinion....
-
Px.value
..latest WBAC now £15,400!...getting tempting. OK the replacement car I was considering (Suzuki Vitara) has also gone up, but not by as much as the Yeti?
-
Px.value
....latest WBAC price £15k!!!!.....totally crazy......
-
Px.value
..given the first valuation last year was £10.5k I wouldn't have a problem if they did drop a few quid!
-
Px.value
..latest WBAC valuation now £14,250....surely it must end sometime!!....giving me thoughts about selling!
