  1. 08/03/2013 Got some halfords seat covers, not the best fit, tight round the top, and the bottom comes up from time to time since the top its tight, but im hoping they will loosen up slightly and ill just tie the bottoms, would have loved snap on covers, but the price is through the roof, and I managed to get these half price
  2. Quick question, I have tried a search but to no avail, will the front wiper arms off a ibiza 2007, fit a mk1 fabia vrs? As theres some going quite cheap and would be a nice aero upgrade.. Many Thanks
  3. What section in vcds should I be looking in, and have you got what the readings should be mate?
  4. Why would you do a rep on a fabia vrs, its a cheap insurance, cheap fuel and cheap running costs anyway, I see the point in some people doing Golf GTI's, R32's and Audi S3's etc, high running costs, high insurance, but a fabia vrs?
  5. Ok, results from the first £20.. It was just under 14 Litres of fuel. And it come out with 139 miles till the light came on. Now that doesn't seem bad to me? However my average seems to be better driving around town, rather that on the motorway, driving at 50/60/70 on cruise doesn't really make over 50mpg, but driving around town I can make 50mpg.. Also a friend of mine has a 54 Fabia vRS, same engine, same route on the motorway, he gets a staggering 63.3MPG! What on earth is going on?
  6. Love the use of the cards! I been looking for something to use for ages!
  7. I made a mistake and wrote I had a BLT engine, but according to the cambelt cover I have a ASZ engine, must have been one of the last ones. After a brief EGR clean, I belive theres a massive improvement, currently have not seen under 50MPG average mixed driving.. 96 miles from £20 with around 120 miles left on the range. Will post full results having topped up a few times.
  8. My hands were too filthy to take a before pic, the EGR was covered in a nice thick later of a gunky/oil substance all over, and the flap felt slightly restricted. I don't think too much stuff would have gone back in, gave it a good does of carb cleaner, brushed, wiped, and repeated several times, I will eventually look to removing it next weekend, but you need a good few hours, this was done in about 45 minutes.
  9. Clean the EGR valve! Made a huge difference to mine today, 40MPG to 50MPG+
  10. 03/03/2013 EGR clean, not really up to my standards, but was against time, and couldn't work out how to get the bottom bolts off, anybody got a guide? For the time being, intercooler pipes got a good blast of carb cleaner and boiling hot water, and the EGR got a very heavy dose of carb cleaner and a wire brush. Ideally I want to remove the EGR, allow it to soak and also give it a light sanding. I've currently been having some MPG issues, but a good 30 minute run after, non motorway, saw a return as high as 59MPG (Average) at one stage, arrived home allowed to cool and still held over 50MPG.. Impressed to say the least.
  11. Can these be fitted without lowering the car? As a precaution before I lower it?
  12. if they havnt been painted before, go back to seat, i mate of mine just had his 06 golf done under the anti corrosion warranty..
  13. 02/02/2013 Seats get the attention they so rightly deserve! Vacuumed, Brushed with 1001 Carpet Cleaner & Then attacked with a steam cleaner! I forgot to take a pic of the drivers seat before. After... Quick view of the car.. And the annoying scratch..
  14. I've finally decided to do a thread on progress on a vRS I have decided to keep, so far i've had 3 Silver & 1 Red, but my heart was always set on a black one, finally one came across at what I thought was a good price, a genuine car, unmodified, but not in the best condition inside or out. But most importantly its backed up with full service history, 2 keys, and low owners First point of call was working out any issues, so far on the list:- Anti Roll Bar Link needs changing, Horrible rattle from passenger door card when bass is frequent, Poor economy, Interior needs a very good clean, and bodywork has several issues, ranging to a pretty deep scratch, and several paintless dents. Future improvements:- Lowering Anthracite Wheels Black Grill Xenon/Projector Headlamps Blue Wing Mirror Glass Strut Bars Back & Front. Purchased simply as my daily runner, something practical with good reliability *Touch wood*
  15. Has anyone got the link handy to read MAF values on VCDS? 60 miles to £10 doesn't seem to bad, current rate im getting 50, which is pathetic, i've left the vRS at home, and im out in the Type R. EGR will be cleaned saturday, along with a new air filter, genuine filter, not a aftermarket, as all I can see is horror stories on the forum regarding the oil causing problems, unless anyone can tempt me to a decent aftermarket air filter?
  16. Can't comment on the performance to be honest, as I don't have the others to compare it too at hand, I thought it performed quite well, I will be well impressed if it gets any better without the remap, soon to come
  17. EGR looks like the first thing to try then, my only issue with the EGR cleaner is, once sprayed, where does all the gunk go? Does it dissolve? Or would it be better to take the pipe off and wash it out? I got a feeling that the EGR hasn't been cleaned, or replaced in the 100k its done.
  18. Hi guys, After having a few fabia vRS's 3x Silver 1x Red, selling and eventually realising not much can replace it for what I need, reliability, economy and simple ease of driving for a daily driver, I have come back to own a nice but no where near perfect black fabia vRS. I have to add, black seems to be by far the best colour, but does attract unwanted attention. My previous vRS's have been 04, 54, 05, 06 so two ASZ and two BLT, all 4 gave good MPG, I do a motorway drive every morning to the gym, which is around 14 miles, I know this isn't really enough time to warm the engine up, but, all 4 used to easily average over 50mpg average by the time I stopped, slow cruise 50/70mph depending on variable speed limit. The current car, struggles to get up for 40mpg. Also around town its very poor. Highest I have seen it on a run is 45mpg, over 60/70 miles, doing 70ish on cruise. Previous vRS's from £20 diesel current prices, as it wasn't too long ago I have the silver 04 and red 54, I would get 120-145 miles. Thats from the petrol light coming on. The currently model just about gets to 100 miles. Im able to get 90+ in my 06 civic type r, and as you can imagine thats with some brisk driving. It has been serviced every year or 12k, last one was only 5/6K ago. Also had a new turbo around 10k ago. Car is currently coming up 100k I will be looking to service the car anyway, for peace of mind, TPS parts, I will also be looking at cleaning the EGR valve on the weekend. I have added wynns injector cleaner over the past two trips to the petrol station as well. VCDS Scan showed no faults what so ever. Any advise guys, so for its not doing any benefits for my wallet
  19. I really like that, adds a touch of class!
  20. A nice folder of invoices of a service book any day.
  21. HI guys, Im on my 4th fabia vrs, and finally I think im happy with a black one, having owned 2 silver and 1 red, and im looking to slowly add my little touches to the car, I remember someone had had there grill colour coded to the car (Black), and added green piping, which I thought was very stubble and highly suited the car, similar to what you see on the GTI range with red piping, I have searched, and looked through page after page with no luck.. Could someone help me out? Many Thanks
  22. Should be on within 30 minutes, bare with me.
