There is no longer the option to turn it off, and it certainly came as a shock on a downhill bend when I was expecting engine braking not coasting. I learnt to drive in a manual over 50 years ago, this is my first auto and in general it's fantastic I know all about fuel saving and I'm a economical driver especially if I use sport mode, gives me the best economy on twisty backroads.

As I said it can't be turned off in a MY21 car, and it does it in normal mode, I never use Eco so can't comment on that. it just caught me out the first couple of times as I'm new to the DSG.

I find this really annoying and against everything I was taught, first time I noticed it was going downhill into a tight bend felt very uncomfortable. unfortunately on MY21 models it can't be turned off like you could before, good job I use sport mode for my B road driving.
  4. I've just had a call from my dealer asking how everything is with the car, I've had it a month, then we got round to general chat on cars and he said they can't get Karoqs for love or money 6 months wait on new orders due to chip shortage.
  5. One does wonder why you would want such a car, but each to their own.

Just been and checked mines the same, I've never noticed, so I stand corrected. Very handy for the tyre pressure gauge. Had to use a torch to look as no light in mine, though it does have cooling
  7. The DSG on the diesel is the wet clutch type to cope with the extra torque, so doesn't have the problems that earlier dry clutches have. If I had the money I would have gone 4x4, the latest version is very clever and selects which wheel gets power even brakes a wheel if needed, you don't feel it in normal driving just the odd push from the rear in very slippery conditions, a great improvement on the one that was in my Yeti which had a default of I think 10% rear the new one is I believe 100% front till needed .
  8. Yea found it now but it's another one you have to reselect can't be turned off only deactivated till next ignition cycle.

Mines a MY21 but nothing in the glove box but slots in the central consoles.
  10. I can't see it anywhere on MIB3 pointer please.
  11. Yes 1.5, thanks for that I'll be trying the hill hold, never knew I had it. Auto hold isn't normally grabby
  12. Nothing seems to be easy to switch off especially in busy traffic.
  13. Yes I did that in the end and used the hand brake but braking assist kept slamming the brakes on to make things even more awkward and it's on it's least sensitive setting
  14. I'm presuming dry clutch as it's a 1.6 petrol MY21 it was auto hold till I cancelled it and used the electric hand brake, didn't know I had hill hold why have both?. can't really use left leg on brake as it's knackered hence why I've gone auto.
  15. Now I may well be doing something wrong, I'm new to autos, yesterday when trying to parallel park on a steep hill, I found the auto hold was reluctant to come off and when it did the car lurched a lot, I didn't feel in control and it was a tight space so between auto hold and the braking assist it was a nightmare.
  16. I've had a few moments my self, slowly getting round the tech bits though some bits do drive me mad like having to reset aircare, driving mode, every time you start the car.
  17. Have you got a light on the switch if not is it switched on.
  18. I think a lot of folk do, but if you don't ask you don't get.
  19. just plain ones for me but I did get a rather nice pen. Also two usb c adapters
  20. Mine too only came out for this photo
  21. The Skoda mug, it's ceramic with a rubber top, which is very awkward to but on
  22. The other that changed was the wheels went from 19" to18"
  23. Umbrella on mine is under passenger seat yes the paddles and heated steering wheel where deleted from the MY21 SeL, now an option , I got a free Skoda mug which fits in the cup holder , just a shame you can't get sweets in the cubby too.
  24. I don't need the car to tell me I can do it by myself, and it bloody annoying, thank fully I don't have it.
  25. Or on narrow back roads
