  1. I'd go get a couple of 3 bar gauges but for a 3 bar to match the car dials is 70quid but 2 bar is 30quid.
  2. Id put money on it that more people will stamp on the brake probably locking the wheels going straight on than letting off. There really is a lack of advanced driving training in the current test.
  3. This is very useful if you enjoy driving round and round a roundabout and to my knowledge there's no part of the m40 other than a few slip roads that require this degree of turning. Thing for me in that video is she just tries to counter steer when back comes out when most people know you should accelerate out of a slide in a fwd. While counter steering. May aswell say its more useful putting Tyre chains on the rear of a fwd car.?
  4. Black and white is best combination but Needs to be white with black roof!!
  5. I was hoping you would reply as your mapped already haha. Both Turbo and super charger are rated at 1.53 bar and Max boost pressure is 2.5 bar at 1500rpm as standard according to a website. Just curious as I'd like to fit a boost gauge and no what limits i need. Would it be possible to fit a boost gauge to both chargers??
  6. Any body know what boost pressure the tsi is running on super and Turbo chargers as standard and when mapped ??
  7. Had a quick look this afternoon and nothing visible that's not need under there. Did notice that the doing and shock are seperate. Is this causing problems when fitting coilies??
  8. Of Corse not. I've not bothered putting my subs in this car. Engine is a good enough sound track for me
  9. Do you have many spirited drives atall chas?
  10. Shame quite liked the idea of shedding another 20kg with the cost of an hours work.
  11. Im not saying defo 888s but that style of Tyre. And to be fair how often do you really drive that fast when there's lots of standing water?? Only time i would say this is a concern is motorways
  12. I've used 2.5l in 2500 miles. Always warm up before i rag it and cool down oil after. Mostly short journeys and good drive once a weekish. Never run it in as such. The guys with cupras had high oil consumption when they run them in
  13. Do we have a definitive answer on the existence and location of the ballast on the rear axle??
  14. I struggle at 6'1 with the chair not going far enough back or low enough for my liking so god knows how you get comfy at 6'7
  15. I'm looking into some light weight alloys and will be wrapping them with something along the lines of r888s. I find it OK on standard roads just where i live its like a cross road system with roundabouts and its terrible to say the least especially if its a bit slick.
  16. Apparently removing all the insulation reduces the intake temp giving some gains which in theory is true. Even if its 1 or 2 every little helps.
  17. Haha yea I'm sure this could end with a few being thrown about. Refer to the pic on page 2 of that thread. I completely removed parts 2,4,5,6,7. Foam and case. I pulled all the foam out of 9 aswell. Couldn't get casing out as needs charger removing. May be able to cut it out but far to awkward for my clumsy hands. I jacked the car up. Reached from underneath to do the bottom two clips. Then from the top feel your way along the top of the casing till you find the clip. Then with the trim tool or flat blade screwdriver will do wedge the clip open. Then back under the car reach up and gently wiggle it free. When i say wiggle i mean yank it as hard as you can haha. If you've got slim arms you may be able to get the top clip from underneath as the guy in the thread does. When its loose i used a dremmel to cut it into 3 strips and removed them from on top. This can be extremely frustrating and time consuming so make sure you leave a few spare hours.
  18. People saying its dangerous are obliviously scared of a bit of oversteer which quite frankly the vrs could do with. It has a tendency to understeer apart from when your hard on the brakes and it fishtails like a good one. Its far easier to drive an oversteering than an understeering fwd car fast. I'll defo be getting mine corner weighted and set up to 4 wheel steer when i get some coolies and arb
  19. I used this to do it dude. http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90571 Things i would say is its easier to remove the airbox as it allows more light in also makes life easier to get the case out. for the top clip my arms were to big to get it from underneath so opened the clip with trim tool and wiggled it from underneath. I tried every which way possible to get it out whole but defo no chance of that so did cut it. The only bit you can't remove is 9 as this requires removal of the charger. Let me know if you need any more info.
  20. Suppose if it did react it could be put back in and claim ignorance under warranty. Much difference in sound notice with it removed??
  21. Good luck its not the easiest thing in the world especially if you got big arms. How you planning on doing it? . I thought of taking that deadening out was just worried about the heat from the Turbo affecting the paint??
  22. Afternoon all. Spent abit of time removing the casing and sound deadening from around the super charger yesterday and boy does it sound good . How much it reduces intake temps like some others have stated i don't know but sure it has some placebo effect. Has anyone else done this yet??
  23. If only i weighed that little. I'm 1.86 and best part of 115 kg. I need to strip mine out just to get same weight as everyone else.
  24. Under some hard breaking the back does squirm around alot normally so removing this ballast and the spare Tyre could lead to some 'fun' in the rain. Even more so if the brakes have been upgraded. After all this would defo be worth getting it corner weighted
  25. I was Guna go for a triple dash one. In the middle of the dash there's a little lip which i think it would look good butted upto as you won't see the bottom. Only thing is running the wires to it as don't fact drilling the dash just yet
